You And I
I am the source of light that illuminates Your way to revelation.
Our genesis, humble but set to impact Generations, to come,
I deal cards so right it numbs your skull Scratching to figure out the equation
Mathematical statements bathed in the Son
Of light I run back to the site
Where it all begun
Genesis, light and dark,
You and I, drift apart
A nemesis, between our fragile hearts Slithering, whispering half truths Deception eating up a half of you the apple you pursue a better half you believe hidden,
Rebellion forever written as our story
Our lives become earthquakes of mistakes replacing pursuits of glory
And I blamed you.
And you blamed him.
But blame does not absolve us
From our sins.
I blame myself, I didn't confess.
If I did nothing wrong,
How I could I ever repent. LOGIC
Blame is the problem.
If I don't see the log in my eye,
How will I see the speck in yours.
He punched me first
So I punched him back birthed
Self defense acts that weren't
Self defense.
Cigarettes dangling from crater-like lips of little girls.
Like vacuums inhaling the smoke of emptiness.
On the streets with readiness; resolve
Money is the planet around which their eyes revolve.
Our eyes,
Like pitchforks and torches
Burning them to the stake..
We're ashamed of them,
Their reasons are mistakes we forsake them even while slicing a piece of their cake and..
We can't be seen with them; society's stain.
Black skin colour translates to chains. White skin colour translates to fame.
Idolized by the black it disperses.
Black against black
For the white black worships
It's not universal
But still concerning
LOGIC. Blame is the problem.
Change don't come like hurricanes
It's intended,
Stagnation isn't accidental
Our brains will leave our bodies
Looking around for rentals
Because stagnation is the muddy water
Flooding their temples
With blame
We blame God for the poverty and pain for the sickness failed business but the positive? We claim.
Nowhere when we succeed
But responsible when we fail.
Non existent, but if He did,
We'd put Him in jail.
Letting little children starve
And sleep in the rain.
Letting exes run away with our hearts on the plane with new lovers and vacation money we took years to save.
Blame, is the problem.
Not her not him not you or I
It's okay to be wrong, don't lie
It's not okay to look strong, then die
When we could've helped you.
Suicide, has blame written all over it.
He says let your speech
Be always with grace
Our minds always escape
That Bible phrase
Yet our words are the killer
Or the saint,
That we ourselves can be the victims.
I don't talk much in person so I condense my assertions in therapeutic prose in verses
Columns and rows of emotions
But what if I sold this platform
To my perversions
Blaming every person,
Situation, deities and devils
Then when would the water ever settle
The cycle of blame could probably win a medal
If that's what I did.
But you and I are different.
Melting blocks of icy hate
Into liquid love
Our Genesis, started with blaming
Because we hadn't gotten to revelation.
The path was rocky but we made it.
The answer?
Love covers a multitude of sins.
Where there is love, there is no shame.
Where there is love, there is no blame.
Love is enough
Love is enough
Love was enough to save
You and I
