True love is Not Knowing - Lip Gallagher
"You take really good care of her, no matter what anyone says," Y/N told Debbie as she was feeding Franny. The little baby was so adorable, and she obviously adored her mother.
"You really thing so?" the young mother asked.
"I know so. You're doing well for a girl like yourself. You're working hard and giving her everything she needs," Y/N told her and smiled. She rested her head on her hand. "And she loves you, so you must be doing something right."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Debbie said and smiled.
Y/N got up as the boys walked in. She smiled, walked over to Lip and wrapping her arms around him. "Hey, baby," she said, kissing his cheek sweetly.
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. He held her close to his side, kissing her head gently - scared that he would break her.
Y/N was the greatest thing to ever happen to Lip. He made sure to take care of her, to cherish her, to love her with all his heart. he swore never to hurt her. He would hate himself more and more everyday he lived if he knew he had hurt in in some way. He hated the thought that she could get hurt. And he thought that she deserved better than him, but every time he told her that, she responded with, "I don't want better, I want you."
So he held her close, not too tight. He kissed her gently, making sure she knew his words were true.
"I missed you," he mumbled against her lips.
"You were gone 30 minutes,"Y/N told him, giggling as she pulled out of the kiss. She smiled at him. Those sweet comments were what made her fall in love with him again and again. She swore that she fell in love with him every second of everyday. He didn't think that was possible.
"Still, I missed you," Lip told her lowly.
"Ew, go elsewhere and make other people sick," Carl said and pushed past them to go sit on the couch.
Lip rolled his eyes and hit his little brother on the back of his head. "Be nice, dipshit," he scowled him.
Y/N chuckled and wrapped her arms around his waist. "He just doesn't get it," she told him softly.
He looked at her, wondering out he had managed to be with a girl as sweet and gentle as her. He had managed not to scare her away, or at least his family hadn't. He didn't understand how she could love him. He was a mess.
he took her hand into his and spun her around gently, smiling at her. He then pulled her to the stairs and up to his room, where they could be alone. His brothers were down stairs, so he knew they wouldn't be interrupted.
She smiled at him and laid with him on the bed. This was her favorite thing, that they could just lay together and talk - or not talk. It was just lovely to her. They could just lay there, and they didn't have to sleep or have sex.
Y/N snuggled him. "I have to go soon," she mumbled softly, scared to break the silence - as if it would actually shatter into a million pieces.
"I can walk you home," he suggested. He looked at her, seeing that unsure look in her eyes, "I don't care what your parents thing, Y/N."
"It's not that I care, it just that I'm scared they'll do something," she told him.
"Like what?" he asked her.
"Lock me up and make me date someone else," she said. He laughed, but she wasn't joking. "Lip, I'm serious."
He looked at her, calming his laughs. He sat up and looked at her. "They wouldn't do that to you. You're too sweet to be punished," he told her.
She laid the back of her hands on her forehead. "They're literally crazy, Lip," she told him. She closed her eyes. "They have this perfect image in their heads of me upholding their business and living up to their idealistic, rich lifestyle."
Lip looked at her. "Well then tell them that you want to be with me," he told her.
"I would love to do that," she told him, "if they were even willing to listen to what I want."
He stared at her, then looked down at his hands.
"They've planned out my whole life since before I was born," she added. She sighed.
"And I guess South Side trash isn't apart of that perfect life?" he asked her,
She sat up and wrapped her arms around him. "You aren't South Side trash," she told him. She rested her head on his back. "You're not. You just live in the bad part of town. Every city has that and there's nothing wrong with living here. It's just what you were dealt."
"So I'm in the trash heap and you have cash to spare," Lip said, sounding a little bitter. He shook his head. "I get shit and you get everything you could ever want."
"Lip," she said, hoping to get him to calm down.
"No, okay, how is that fair?" he asked her, shrugging her off of him and looking at her. He had that look of hopelessness in his eyes.
"It's not," she whispered, not knowing what to say.
"Exactly! I mean, how is it that you can have whatever you want and then I'm just the trash you take out every afternoon?" he shouted.
"Lip," she trembled.
"You have the perfect life! You have everything you need! Why are you here? Why are you sticking around?" he yelled.
"Because I love you," she told him, her voice small compared to his strong one. She wouldn't look at him, her eyes screwed shut since he had started yelling.
"I can't believe you," he said, and that made him look up at him. She was hurt. "Why? Why would you love a piece of shit like me?" It was silent for a moment. "Just go! Go home to your 'shitty' parents and your lovely house and your money!"
She looked at him, shocked. She could take the yelling. He was just upset, but him telling her to go?
"Lip," she whispered.
"Go! You don't belong here!" he yelled.
She jumped up, running out the room. She was crying now, unable to keep in her tears. She didn't look at his family, she didn't say anything. She just left the house as fast as she could.
