First imagine. lmk what you think

Part 1:

"She's at the mailbox again," Carl said as he came inside the house. He looked at his older brother Lip and then rolled his eyes.

Lip walked over to the window, peeking out from the blind. He saw her there, y/n. She had been following him around since freshman year. she was crazy. She liked him but she was crazy about it. Not to mention that she was a kook.

"Just go tell her to leave," Carl said from behind him.

"You think that'll work?" he asked, watching the girl that'd been stalking him for a while. He watched as she put something in the mailbox and then start to walk away. "Oh wait, she's actually leaving."

"Good riddance," his younger brother said, not even caring. he was flipping through the tv.

Lip walked outside once he was sure y/n was gone. he walked to the mailbox and opened it, pulling out the envelope y/n had left in there. he was a little scared to open it. He did anyway though.

Dear Lip,

I know that we haven't hung out a lot and that you're kind of like "with" Karen, but I'm tired of hiding from you and I wanted to tell you the truth. It's seems impossible to actually know what you're thinking, so I suppose that i should just tell you what I think. You aren't right for Karen and she isn't right for you. You're the wrong people to be together. She's not in love with you. She wouldn't know love if it hit her in the face.

Come meet me in the park to night at 8? please?

- y/n

Lip stared at the letter and looked around. He walked into his house and crumpled up the letter, throwing it away. It missed the trash but he didn't care.

Fiona walked over to Lip and stood in his way of the tv. He looked up at her, about to say something but she spoke first.

"you have to talk to her. you have to left her down easy. You have to do something," she said and hit her hand into her other. She point towards the kitchen. "She was just asking Debbie and Carl about you. about if you were gonna go to the park and meet her."

"Well I'm not going," Lip told her.

"You have to. If you don't, this is only gonna continue," she told him.

"Whatever, fine," he said and stood up. He grabbed his jacket and left, slamming the door behind him.

He walked down to the park and saw y/n sitting on a swing. he sighed, ready to get this over with. he walked over to her and looked down at her.

y/n stood up and smiled at Lip and stood up from the seat she had on the swing. "Hi," she said. there was a sparkle of hope and admiration in her eyes as she looked up at him.

He stared at her, shaking his head. "Listen, y/n, you need to stop. You need to stop everything," he told her.

She stared up at him, her sparkly eyes dulling. She hugged herself, rubbing her arm. "What do you mean?" she asked.

"Stalking me and leaving stuff in my mail," he said, as if it was obvious. It should have been. "It's weird and creepy. I mean, what are you hoping to happen? That I'll fall for you? That I'll stop seeing Karen and go for you? Well here's something you need to hear clearly: I will never go out with you." Lip didn't know why he got so defensive about it, but maybe it had to do with harassing his siblings, and the fact that she had never left him alone.

y/n stared up at him, her eyes completely dull. She hugged herself, her body becoming ridged. She shook her head. "Y-yeah, I know," she said. She looked down .She wouldn't pick her head up. She wouldn't look at him. "I-I'm sorry. I'll g-go," she said, sniffling and putting a hand to her face.

Lip stared at her, watching her in a bit of a shock. He didn't think he'd make her cry, it wasn't what he wanted to do. "y/n," he said softly, reaching out for her. She pulled back.

"I'll leave you alone, Lip. You won't have to worry about me ever again," she told him and turned away from him. She pulled her hood up and small snow flakes started to fall from the sky. Flurries landing in her eyelashes anyway.

Lip watched her. He could hear her crying as she walked away, her small sobs and gasps for air dying out as she walked away from him. His head tilted back as he sighed. He turned and started to walk the opposite way. He walked home.

None of the Gallagher's had seen y/n for a week, and it seemed strange to not see the girl walk by the house. not even once. No one asked questions. No one cared.

But Lip had a gnawing feeling inside of him. He felt like there was a better way he could have handled the y/n situation. Though he was in no way having a hard time getting over it. HE had practically let her slip his mine 8 times that day!

He was walking home when he caught sight of some yelling going on not too far away. he turned his attention to it and saw that it was Karen yelling at y/n, with y/n's brother not standing too far away. He could hear every word that was being exchanged.

"It doesn't matter what you think. Lip is mine and that's final!" Karen practically screamed in y/n's face.

"Well you can't have Lip and my brother, that's just... selfish!" y/n shouted, her voice cracking. Lip got a little close and saw that she was crying.

Karen shoved y/n and got shoved back. y/n's brother tried to break it up, but it quickly escalated when Karen started pulling y/n by her hair. She bit y/n in the arm and kicked her.

y/n stopped trying and let Karen beat her into the ground. her brother didn't know what to do, because he wouldn't hit Karen.

When the blonde was done, she spat on y/n and looked at her y/b/n, smirking at him. "Come here, baby," she said and stepped over y/n, kissing y/b/n.

Lip could only watch. He didn't know what to think. Family was supposed to be there for you and yet y/n's brother was making out with the girl that had just beat her up. And y/n wasn't bad, not at all.

She was sweet and caring, she never did anything to anyone. Sure, she had a tendency to watch people and follow them and leave things in their mailbox, but she had good intentions, Lip was sure of it.

Seeing her on the ground there, being ignored by the girl he was with and the person that was supposed to protect her. He watched as Karen and y/b/n walked away.

He walked across the street and got down beside y/n. He turned her over and looked at her. Her face was busted up and her nose was bleeding. Her face was already beginning to swell and bruise, He pulled her into his arms.

"Get. . . away .  . .from me," she muttered, blood spitting from her lips as she spoke. She tried to get out of his arms, but the pain was too much and she ended up letting out small squeaks and screams of pain. Tears slipped out of her eyes.

"Why the hell didn't you fight back?" he asked her. She sobbed, her slipped tears out. She shook her head, coughing up blood. Her red blood painted the snow and it was the most vibrant things around them.

"No . . . point," she coughed and pushed at him. She cried out of the pain, and not just the physical but the emotional pain that he had caused her. She kept pushing at him, even through the pain.

He picked her up, despite her struggling protests and cries of pain. He carried her to his house and carried her inside.

"Get off the couch, Carl," he said, walking over. The younger sibling moved as Ian came into the room from the kitchen.

"What the hell happened?" Ian asked.

"Who even is that?" Carl asked.

"Go get the first aid kit!" Lip yelled after laying y/n on the couch. Carl and Ian ran off together to go get the, hopefully, stocked first aid kit.

"Stop," y/n said. "Not . . . worth it."

He looked at her. "You are. You're fucking worth it," he told her.

"How? . . . Why?" She looked at him. "You  . . . you didn't . . . care," she told him. "You don't."

"I do," he told her and pressed his lips together. He blood away from her lips and looked at her. "I'm just an idiot."

"Don't . . . care," she told him and looked away from him. "Just . . . let me . . . go."

"Never," he told her as his brothers walked back in with the first aid kit and a handful of towels.

Lip took a wet towelette and started to dab away the blood. He moved her hair out of her face, unsticking it from her forehead and the sides of her face. He had to use a lot of wet towelettes. He could only listen to her winces as he wiped away the red, metallic liquid. He could see her face wounds more clearly.

he started to clean her wounds with the wound cleaner and a q-tip. She cried at the stinging pain, shaking her head.

"I think she needs a hospital, Lip," Ian said, seeing y/n starting to cough up more blood. Lip looked at him, then at the girl he brought home.

"Hey, y/n, keep your eyes open. We're gonna get you to a hospital," he told her, his voice soft.

"You just . . . feel . . . guilty," she breathed out.

"Open her shirt," Carl said.

"No, you pervert," Lip said.

Ian shook his head. "He's got a point. You have to make sure she doesn't have any broken ribs," he said.

"How am i-"

"Just do it," Ian said.

Lip tried pulling y/n's shirt over her head, but she whimpered in pain and he had to stop. He didn't want to cause her anymore pain. He looked around and then grabbed a pocket knife off the table. He cut open her shirt to reveal the forming dark bruises on her abdomen, under her bra.

"That's bad. Come on, get a car," Lip said and looked at Ian. No one moved as they thought. "Now!"

Ian and Carl ran out the house as Lip wrapped a blanket around her gently. He picked her up gently and carried her to the door. He walked outside, kicking the door open. He saw Ian driving and Carl in the passenger. He hurried over and laid y/n in the backseat. He then got in himself and laid her head on his lap.

Sitting in the hospital was nerve wracking. Lip had almost refused to be separated from y/n, but in the end it was either security pull him away or he let her go. Ian had to hold him back from following them.

It had been hours, and soon the rest of the Gallagher's were there to wait with Lip. y/n's mother had arrived not too long ago and demanded to know what had happened. Lip had to explain.

Soon, cops arrived and Lip had to, yet again, explain what had happened. How Karen had beat the shit out of y/n. How y/b/n had sat by and watched. How he had to carry her to his place and take care of her, and how it was his first instinct to take care of her himself before letting anyone else do so.

He sat, alone, in the middle of everyone and everything. He could hear y/n's mother crying to the police. How she didn't know how this could have happened; that y/n was a good girl and would never hurt anyone. "She's too shy to even speak to people."

That's what clicked in Lip's mind. The whole time she was following him around and leaving things in his locker and mailbox and sitting outside his house, she had been too shy.

"She always has these battles with herself about what to actually do and say."

She wouldn't speak to him because she was shy. she wouldn't look him directly in the eyes because she was scared to. that night she asked him to the park, she had actually built up all the courage to speak to him and he shot her down before she had the chance. He defeated her, made her feel inferior to herself.

And then she had the balls to go against Karen, for his sake. Even after what he had said to her. Even after he broke her heart.

Lip sunk further into his seat and tilted his head back. He stared at the ceiling. The while walls radiated a head ache inducing glow off of them, as did the ceiling. He didn't care though. He deserved it.

He was urged to go home, to rest there. He refused.

He was asked to at least sleep some, but he refused.

He was told that he needed his energy, but he still refused.

It wasn't until midnight would he know what had happened. By then, Fiona had taken the rest of his siblings home, all aside from Ian who would stay by his brother's side in this time of need.

Lip had fallen asleep at 11, but he wasn't really sleeping. He couldn't really sleep with the thought of a messed up y/n in surgery. He couldn't really sleep with the thought of why Karen needed to be arrested. He couldn't really sleep in those uncomfortable hospital chairs.

He awoke when Ian shook him, opening his eyes to find his red headed brother staring down at him. He sat up, looking over to y/n's mother as the doctor was standing in front of her, speaking to her.

"He's stable. She's alright. We'll keep her here a few night, but her injuries are recoverable," he heard the doctor say. He wanted to stand, but his body couldn't move. It wouldn't move.

"Can I see her?" her mother asked.

"Of course," the doctor said and led her away.

Lip could only watch, wondering what they had to do and why and whether she was feeling okay or not. he knew there was a difference between being okay and feeling it. He looked at Ian, but then couldn't even look him in the eyes so he looked away.

He stared at the floor and waited. HE would not fall back asleep. He was gonna wait until he could see her. He was gonna wait until he could apologize to her for being an ass.

It was another hour before her mother came out. The older woman looked at them, between he and Ian. "Whichever one of you is Lip, she'd like to talk to you," she told them before walking to the nurses desk.

Ian looked at him. "Go. I'll be here waiting," he told him and gave a supporting smile.

Lip stood and walked to the back. He got halfway down the hall before realizing he didn't know where he was going. He stopped a passing nurse and asked her for the room number. He then proceeded on.

He walked into her room and looked in at her from around the corner. She looked at him, seeing him coming in.

She was stitched up. She was wrapped in medical garb and tape. She had a band across her nose and a band aid on her chin. Whatever else she was "dressed up" in, Lip couldn't see. She had the blanket pulled up to her neck, which had not a scratch on it.

He walked over to her, sitting in the chair beside her. It was silent between them for a moment. He looked at her, stared into her eyes for a moment. HE tried to read her and figure out what she was thinking.

"I still don't understand why you did it," he told her. He spoke to her as if his words were knives and she was a porcelain doll.

"fighting her was like taking back something i didn't have in the first place," she spoke. Her voice was low, and he could barely hear her. Her voice was scratchy, but it still managed to sound like an angel's.

"She could have killed you," he said.

"I did it for you," she groaned and closed her eyes. She was silent for a moment. "I did it for you, you . . . you jerk."

"I am a jerk. I am whatever you say you are," he told her. He knew he had been a jerk, an ass, a dirtbag, whatever a good defining word was for him at the moment.

"Well, you're just a jerk right now," she told him and let out a breath of frustration. She was silent as she looked away from him.

He spoke after the moment's silence. "I know why you asked me to the park," he told her.

"I didn't tell you or anything," she said sarcastically. She rolled her eyes, shaking her head.

"no, i mean the real reason," he told her. "Why you finally did it."

She looked at him.

"I know that you're shy. I know that you don't talkk so well to other people. I know that you have a few issues with people and all of that," he spouted off. HE rested his arms on her bed and rested his head on his arms. "I know that when you left that letter in my mailbox, it was because you were too shy to give it to me yourself. I know that you waited at the park for hours, just hoping that you could actually talk to me for once."

"You know?" she asked him.

He nodded. "I know that I broke your heart and I am so sorry, because I know now that you were right. But seeing Karen and knowing that she was seeing another guy, that didn't hurt as much as what I saw what she did to you. Nothing hurts me more than knowing that youre hurting."

"Why care now?" she asked him.

"Because I realized I was going after the wrong girl," he told her. She looked at him and took in what he said. She listened to every word and replayed them in her head.

"What are you saying?" she asked him, looking at him.

"I'm saying you're the right girl. You've always been there, even at my worst times. you'll never let me down. you've never left. You haven't told me to get out of your room," he told her, keeping his eyes on her the whole time.

She looked at him. "So what  do you mean?"

"Do you wanna go out?"
