Wrapping Up Christmas

It was the day before Christmas, and I was officially one small step away from losing my sanity. The gifts were wrapped, the toys were sorted, and the clothes were packed, but there was still one major issue: Chisaki.

That guy had been an ongoing headache for the past week. Sure, he'd "helped" me gather some things, but the guy's attitude was like sandpaper to my nerves. Not to mention his mafia goons who loitered around like lost puppies in suits.

I wasn't about to let him get away with his sleazy deals or whatever "business" he thought justified terrorizing people. So, I decided tonight was the night I would lead him—and his gang—straight into the hands of a couple of pro heroes without either side realizing I was involved.

"Genius plan," I muttered to myself as I adjusted my Santa mask in the mirror. "Totally not reckless or bound to backfire."

The plan was simple: act like I needed to "wrap up" (pun fully intended) some loose ends, bring Hawks and Miruko along under the pretense of delivering Christmas cheer, and subtly guide them to where Chisaki and his men were holed up. Hawks and Miruko didn't need to know Chisaki was there, and Chisaki didn't need to know I was the one who tipped them off.

We met up under the cover of night, Hawks and Miruko looking way too energetic for this time of day. I had asked them for help in the name of Izuku the drop out kid and told them that I had another friend helping out... I warned them that it is a vigilante and made them promise me to not do anything to the vigilante cause they are helping and they agreed without asking anything at all..... that part surprised me a lot. It either that or they thought I was the vigilante... Oh well as long as they ain't gonna do anything about it, everyhting is fine.

"Alright, Santa," Hawks said, stretching his wings lazily. "Where's this 'last delivery' you dragged us out for?"

"Yeah," Miruko added, crossing her arms. "This better be worth it. I could've been sleeping."

"Oh, it's worth it," I said with a grin under my mask. "It's for a very special group of people."

"Special how?" Hawks asked, narrowing his eyes.

I waved a hand dismissively. "You'll see."

We set off, my oversized bag of "gifts" slung over my shoulder. In reality, the bag was half-filled with decoys to maintain the illusion.

As we approached the area where Chisaki and his crew were known to operate, I kept the mood light to avoid suspicion.

"So, how's life as a pro hero?" I asked, glancing at Hawks. "Do you guys actually save cats from trees, or is that just a cliché?"

I tried so hard not to sound like the usual me here. I even had a voice changer build into my mask.

"Depends on the day," Hawks replied, smirking. "Sometimes it's cats. Sometimes it's idiots dangling from rooftops."

"Good thing I'm neither," I shot back, earning a chuckle from Miruko.

When we were close to the warehouse, I slowed my pace, feigning hesitation. "Alrighty~, listen up. This place might look... sketchy, but I swear it's for a good cause."

"Sketchy is putting it mildly," Miruko said, scanning the area.

Hawks tilted his head, his sharp eyes locking onto the warehouse. "You sure about this, kid? Looks more like a villain hangout than a holiday party."

"Exactly!" I said, clapping my hands together. "What better place to spread some Christmas cheer?"

Miruko rolled her eyes but followed me toward the building. Hawks, however, wasn't so easily convinced.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were leading us into a trap," he said, half-joking.

I laughed nervously. "Me? A trap? Never!"

We stepped inside, and the warehouse was exactly what you'd expect from a mafia hideout: dim lighting, crates stacked against the walls, and a faint smell of something metallic. Perfect.

I made a big show of dropping my bag on the ground. "Alright, time to get to work!"

Before either of them could question me further, footsteps echoed from the shadows.

Chisaki stepped into view, his expression a mix of annoyance and suspicion. Behind him, a handful of his men lingered, clearly waiting for orders.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded, his voice cold.

"Delivering presents," I said brightly, gesturing to the bag. "You know, spreading holiday joy."

Chisaki's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, I thought he might actually buy it. Then he noticed Hawks and Miruko standing behind me.

"And them?" he asked, his tone icy.

"Oh, them?" I said, feigning surprise. "They're... helpers! My, uh, Christmas elves!"

Hawks raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. Miruko looked like she was about two seconds away from punching someone.

Chisaki's men shifted uneasily, sensing that something was off.

"Enough games," Chisaki snapped. "What's really going on here?"

Before I could answer, Hawks stepped forward, his wings unfurling slightly. "Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing. What's a guy like you doing here with so many 'friends'?"

Miruko cracked her knuckles, a grin spreading across her face. "Looks like we found more than just Christmas cheer."

I took a step back, letting the pros take the lead. My job was done; now it was up to them to clean up the mess.

As chaos erupted and the warehouse turned into a battlefield, I quietly slipped out the door.

Once I was a safe distance away, I leaned against a wall and let out a long breath.

"Well, that went better than expected," I muttered, adjusting my mask.

The sound of sirens in the distance confirmed that my plan had worked. Chisaki and his crew were about to have a very un-merry Christmas, and I didn't have to lift a finger.

With a satisfied grin, I headed back into the night. Christmas was about to come... just some more hours... and I was finished with everything!
