PLOT.

In a world built for men, Lucía Solano always had to work a little bit harder than anyone else to survive. She never needed anyone by her side—especially not a man—so that's the way she has lived her life for about twenty-nine years, which are strained with dark memories.

The loneliness had never truly bothered her until the first time crimson blood flecks her blouse and hands and face. Javier Peña smells like cigarettes and cheap perfume when he finds her sitting on the dark streets of Medellín where she had killed a man. It was self-defense, yes, but that does not ease the guilt Lucía feels deep within her. It might be the first time she accepts the help that is offered to her and it is the beginning of something horrifying, yet lovely.
