Angst: part 1
Hey, guys.
So um...
This one is really sad. I'm in that kind of mood, you know? The kind where you just listened to act 2 of Hamilton and you need to make other people as sad as you?
Yeah. That one.
Quick foreword: I made Romeo the mentally unstable one. He was the more emotional one of the two, so I'm going with that. Don't question me.

~ Romeo's PoV ~
"Thank you, sir! Have a good evening!" I called to the cashier. I grinned at the freshly-bought flowers in my hand. Juliet had always loved this kind, and I was planning on surprising her by coming home early so we could have a lazy evening together.
Practically skipping down the sidewalk, I clutched the flowers to my chest and cheerfully waved to passerby. I couldn't wait to get home to my Juliet.
I frowned slightly as I approached the house, noticing that all of the windows were dark. Shrugging off my discomfort, I slipped out of my shoes and began creeping up the stairs to launch a surprise hug on my fiancé.
That's when I started hearing things.
At first I thought it was just our cat, Tybalt, but then I spotted him dozing in the hallway. So what the hell were those noises?
I noticed that the bedroom door was closed. Huh, that was odd. Juliet usually kept the door open in case Tybalt wanted to come in. I often protested due to the fact that the cat downright loathed me, but one smile from her and I'd melt.
I put my ear to the door to hear... moaning? I was not prepared for that. I tried to calm myself down.
No, she's not cheating on me, of course not! We're engaged, after all! She'd never do that!
My suspicions were confirmed, however, when I opened the door. The sight I was greeted with made me drop the flowers in shock. Juliet, MY Juliet, was passionately kissing a shirtless Paris. She was pinned to the wall as Paris kissed down her neck. I let out a loud sob, alerting them to my presence.
After a very awkward silence, I spoke in a voice that wavered too much. "I'm sorry for inturrupting."
"What are you doing here!?" Paris screeched, quickly pulling on a shirt.
"What are YOU doing here? This is my house! Get out!"
He huffed, exiting the room. I was fairly certain he would lurk downstairs for a while.
"W-wait, baby, I can explain-" Juliet started.
"Explain what? That you're sorry? That it wasn't what it looked like? That you didn't mean to hurt me?"
She opened her mouth like she was going to respond, but decided against it and bit her lip.
"That's what I thought. I don't understand, Jules! What happened? Am I not enough for you?"
"Of course you are! I love you, Romeo!" Juliet cried.
"And yet there you were, about to bang another guy," I argued, tears beginning to roll down my cheeks.
"I don't know what I was thinking, it just happened!"
"Then explain the mark on your collarbone. It's not new. I didn't give it to you. How long has this been going on?" I deadpanned.
A long, heavy silence.
"Four months..." Juliet murmured, looking away in shame.
That hit me hard. We had been engaged for almost exactly four months. Our five-month anniversary was in just under a week.
"I-"
"No. Don't. Please. Paris clearly makes you happier than I do if you're willing to lie to me for four months." I absent-mindedly started messing with my sleeve, feeling my skin begin to itch. I knew that there was only one way to satisfy that itch, and I had stopped doing that (at Juliet's tearful pleading) about a year ago.
"You make me happy, my love. I'm so sorry. I love you so much," Juliet sobbed. I sighed. Shaking my head, I pulled off my engagement ring and placed it gently on the bed.
"I love you too."

I'm gonna make a part 2. It gets sadder.
Muahahahaha.
That is all, faeries. May you chase your dreams faster than anyone thought you could.
