~Dance Competition~

"Ugh, Gene, my shirt is all wrinkled," Sasha complains, brushing down her black cropped shirt. Gene laughs and leans against a wall.

"I told you not to leave your costume with me! That's your fault!" Gene retorts.

"I would've lost my costume somewhere in my room!"

"That's not my fault!"

Zane rolls his eyes at the sight of those two arguing. He turns around and looks in the mirror, wiping his hands off on his sweatpants. Zane sighs at the thought that he'd have to pull down his mask once his group had to dance. His freckles would be seen, making him appear less intimidating, at least that's what Zane thinks.

"Shadow Knights! Practice, now!" Gene shouts, snapping Zane out of his thoughts.

     " I still hate the song we chose," Katelyn complains, slipping on a shiny blue costume with little gems adorning it. The song chosen for the three girls was "Single Ladies" by the one and only Beyoncé. Katelyn didn't care for the idea of dancing to the song considering she was not single.

    "My mom would be so proud though!" Aphmau responds, jumping up on her toes.

    "Kawaii Chan likes this song too Katelyn Sama!" Kawaii Chan says, backing up Aphmau.

     Katelyn groans and sits down to work on her makeup and Kawaii Chan sits by Katelyn, doing the same thing. Kawaii Chan hums to the tune of their song and her tail sways back and forth, grabbing Katelyn's attention.

"How do you keep that thing out of your way?" Katelyn asks, pointing towards Kawaii Chan's tail.

Kawaii Chan giggles and says, "Well Katelyn Sama, Kawaii Chan tries not to think about it and it somehow stays out of her way!"!

Katelyn hums in response and finishes up her makeup.

    Travis stretches backstage, preparing for his performance with Dante before he's distracted by the bright color of blue passing his eyes. Travis smirks and wolf whistles and says, "Hey Katelyn~" In return, Katelyn turns around and growls at Travis, stomping towards him.

     "What's wrong baby?" Travis asks flirtatiously. Katelyn responds by punching Travis in the gut and walking away. "I'm not your baby, Travis!" Katelyn shouts before exiting the room.

     "Ow..." Travis whines, holding onto his stomach tightly. Dante chuckles and pats Travis's back. "Real smooth Travis!" Dante teases.

*Competition Begins*

The seats are packed,

The lights dim,

And the stage is alive with lights.

And a brunette in a fancy, yellow button-up dress walks on the stage.

     "Hello everyone! I'm Melissa Lycan and you're here at the Mystreet Dance Competition." She greets the audience brightly.

     The audience cheers and the woman on the stage giggles.

     "It's so amazing to see that so many of you came to watch and support our dancers! They really appreciate it! We would all appreciate donations too so we could improve our studio! How about I stop yappin' and and get to the dancing!"

     The crowd roars with screams and clapping.

    "Alrighty! First up is, Attention, being performed my Lucinda!" Melissa cheers, exiting the stage.

    A woman in a short black and red dance costume enters the stage. Her costume has a red skirt on one side, it's sparkly, has a sleeve on the opposite side, and it's shows off her long legs. Her beginning pose is her sitting on the floor and tucked into her knees. The music begins and the magic of dance begins.

     Lucinda's dance begins out sad and like she's been betrayed, she stands and she moves slowly. The music begins to build up and that's when the energy and sass comes in. Lucinda dances with powerful movement and spins. Her expression shows her emotion of anger and the crowd loves it.

     Lucinda's dance soon ends and she exits the stage. Melissa smiles and hugs Lucinda tightly, whispering, "You did amazing!"  Lucinda smiles and walks back to the dressing room. Melissa enters the stage again and announces the next song.

     "Wasn't that awesome? If you loved that, you're definitely going to love the other dancers! Their choreography is amazing! Next up is Teenagers by The Shadow Knights!"

    Melissa exits the stage and Gene, Sasha, and Zenix skip onto the stage, pushing Zane forward as they go. It was their planned entrance before the song to get into the attitude of the song they chose. They all get in their positions; Sasha and Zenix pulling Zane's arms while Zane stands looking lifeless and Gene sits in front of Zane.

      The music plays and Sasha and Zenix begin tugging Zane left and right as Gene intimidatingly dances in front of Zane as if he's going to hurt him. This continues until the chorus begins and they are all dancing now. Zane escapes from Sasha's and Zenix's grips. His part of the song is to dance quickly and cautiously without being caught by the others.

     The others are dancing like they are the "teenagers" and they are supposed to seem scary and powerful. They want to take over the stage, but Zane constantly takes their spotlight which causes him to be shoved by them. It's an aggressive song and even though Zane is being pushed around, he loves dancing to it.

    The song eventually ends with Zane reaching out to the crowd for help and Gene pulling Zane's other arm. The lights dim and the crowd cheers loudly.

Other dances are featured of slow songs, sassy songs, funny songs, and any song of any mood. Aphmau, Katelyn, and Kawaii Chan are finally introduced to the stage.

They enter the stage, walking with power and sass, posing with a hand on their hips, and their left hand is out forward.

    The light shines on Aphmau first and her sparkly purple dress shines brightly and she begins dancing first, showing off her left hand, putting her hands on her hips, and repeating.

Another light shines on Katelyn, showing off her blue dress. She repeats the same thing Aphmau did.

Lastly, Kawaii Chan has the third light on her. Her dress is like Katelyn's and Aphmau's except hers is bright pink. She follows the other's moves and all the lights appear on the stage.

     They all dance flirtatiously and sassily, each taking turns of stealing the spotlight. Katelyn steals the spotlight once the chorus begins and she spins with agility while Aphmau and Kawaii Chan dance behind her. The three are dancing and having fun, showing off their amazing and sassy choreography.

     The song comes to an end and the three are back in the start position. The crowd goes wild and and the three of them bow before exiting the stage.

     The other dances consist of Travis and Dante who dance to Uptown Funk, Aaron performing to Demons, Garroth and Laurance perform to High Hopes; and Dottie, Blaze, Daniel, and Ryland dance to Glorious. There are plenty of other dances though too.

*Backstage*

     "Guys, do you think we'll get first place?" Aphmau asks nervously.

     "Ha! Definitely! Nobody could beat that!" Katelyn boasts.

     "Katelyn Sama! That's not nice! The others did really well too!" Kawaii Chan says defensively.

     "Yeah... I just don't think we were...as good as the others!" Aphmau says, her voice getting lower.

     "I think you did really good," Aaron compliments as he walks by.

     Aphmau smiles awkwardly as her face turns a cherry red color. Katelyn laughs and playfully punches Aphmau's arm. "You see! Aaron liked it!" Katelyn comments.

     Kawaii Chan giggles and looks up when she hears the sound of yelling. She walks over to where the sound is coming from and peeps from the corner to see The Shadow Knights.

     "Listen! You just... ugh! You seemed to ruin the whole dance! You just, Irene, I don't even know!" Gene shouts at Zane.

    Zane just groans and crosses his arms in annoyance.

     "After the awards, you're off the Shadow Knights!" Gene yells, shoving Zane over and walking away. Sasha and Zenix follow Gene and Zane sighs.

    Kawaii Chan goes to hug Zane, but she feels her arm being pulled back.

     "Kawaii Chan! Awards!" Aphmau cheers in excitement. Everyone makes their way out on the stage and Melissa is on the front of the stage.

     "Hello everyone, again! Hehehe! Here's the award ceremony! The awards were decided by me and the judges! Let's get started shall we?" Melissa exclaims with excitement.

     "First off, this award is called 'Sass Queen'! This Award goes to the sassiest dancer of the night. This award goes to.... Lucinda!" Melissa announces.

     Lucinda's face lights up and she goes up to Melissa and receives her award. She gives Melissa a hug and sits back down.

     Melissa smiles and names off multiple different made up awards for different people. After the other awards, it's time for the placement of teams.

     "Ladies and Gents! This is the moment we've all waited for! Third place goes to.....The Shadow Knights!" Melissa announces.

     Their team goes up and Gene holds the small trophy. They look out to the audience in case any are taking pictures and they go back to their spot.

     "Second place was... the Single Ladies!"

     Katelyn rolls her eyes at her team's name and they three girls go on the stage and follow what the Shadow Knights did.

     "Last but not least, we have the Wolf Team in first!" Melissa cheers.

     Blaze, Dottie, Daniel, and Ryland all cheer and go up to the stage. They look to the audience for pictures and they hold their big trophy. They all hop around in excitement and the song they danced to blasts from the speakers.

*After the Competition*

     "Kawaii Chan can not believe she got the adorable dancer award!" Kawaii Chan cheers.

     "Yeah! I'm really excited that we got second place!" Aphmau adds.

     "We did a good job! I can't believe Aaron didn't place. I think he was much better than the Shadow Knights," Katelyn comments.

     The other two nod in agreement. They then look over to see more yelling like before the awards. This time, Gene is begging for Zane to rejoin them because Zane got an award for bringing his dance team to life. Zane just ignores them and walks away, catching up to his brother.

     "Aww poor Zane Kun! He's the best dancer out of all of them! He deserved more than them!" Kawaii Chan says sadly.

     "Looks like he was kicked off. Those Shadow Knights are full of themselves!" Katelyn says.

     Aaron walks by again and Aphmau runs up to him.

     "Aaron, you did so good! I honestly believe that you should've placed with your amazing dance..." Aphmau compliments.

     "O-oh.. Um thanks," Aaron awkwardly responds, looking down.

     "Oh I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable!" Aphmau panics.

     Aaron's eyes widen and he puts up his hands in defense.

     "Oh no no! I just um.. I don't socialize much."

     "Oh! Well that's alright!"

     Aaron smiles and walks away, waving towards Aphmau.

     Aphmau smiles and walks away too.

*At the Dorm*

     Kawaii Chan is on the top bunk in her room and she's wearing her pink silk pajamas.

     "After we graduate.. we are still going to stay a team right?" Kawaii Chan asks.

     "I assume so," Katelyn says, on the bottom bunk.

     Aphmau has her bed in the middle because their bunk bed has three spots. She smiles at the thought of dancing with Aaron, but she doesn't want to let her friends down.

     "Totally!" Aphmau says.

     "That makes Kawaii Chan happy! Goodnight!" Kawaii Chan closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep.

Little do they know... after they graduate..

Things won't be the same.
