Wow, Sky writing a really long, rambley A/N at the end of yet another book?

ShadowSong Book 3 is finished! Heck yeah! Before I spook anyone--the series itself is not done. The series is at least 5, if not 6 books long, all following Olivia & Jason through their journey. I've absolutely loved writing their story, even when the world building got heavy and almost squished me.

As you've probably noticed from the various A/N's scattered throughout the book and replies to comments, the way B3 played out was not at all planned X) It was supposed to have a far heavier focus on Jason rebuilding his life after leaving Aurelia & figuring out and fixing Nereid's Ascended, but then Banshee went off and got herself kidnapped and WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT. 

Even so, I'm still pretty happy (is happy the right word to use when you've tortured your characters??) with how it turned out, and the setup for the coming books. The ending of B3 was supposed to have an ~event~ that changed the course of the series, but the people involved in that event had to adapt their plans... and if you think that sounds sinister, you are absolutely correct ^_^

That said, I think I need to take a break before I start writing book 4. Not because I hate them or anything, but just because I've been writing this one series (with Indigo edits in the middle), and updating it almost every week for ~3 years now and I think I just want a break.

Speaking of Indigo - I've got a finalised version that I'm happy with, so after a few beta readers have gone through it for me, I'll be giving it one final pass then attempting to throw it at agents/publishers in the hopes of finding it a home. Who knows, maybe there's a sequel on the horizon? ;D

BUT! I still wanna be writing something in the meantime. That said, I have absolutely no idea what I wanna write. 

Part of me wants to write another Colourverse story that I've been cooking up in recent weeks with gladiators. Another part of me wants to write a ShadowSong prequel, featuring Banshee & Cryo in their early days. A smaller, yet all the more insistent part of me wants to write something else that will currently remain nameless, aaaand there's even the urge to edit Pinfeathers.

...I'll be honest, I was hoping to have picked what I wanted to write by the time I made this post, but I honestly haven't got any closer than I was last week. I probably won't decide this next coming week either. 

For Wattpad, it's not a huge deal, but for Patreon, it leaves me at an awkward 'I have nothing to post to Patreon uh oh' kinda situation which I covered in the A/N over there (that is eerily similar to this one until this paragraph >:D). But even so, I want to be writing something, I just haven't quite figured out //what// yet. 

So.... yep. That's where we're at right now ;D 

I'm not sure if this ramble accomplished much, but I want to end it with thank you. No matter how long you've been here, I appreciate it a ridiculous amount. 

To everyone on Wattpad who reads, votes, comments, to everyone who joined the Discord server, and those crazy people that headed over to Patreon to support this dumb dream I have--just thank you. It's incredibly hard to describe just how much it all means to me without writing a whole other book about it. I go potato a lot of the time, but it's you guys that help bring me back out of it and counter all the dumb crap my brain likes to tell me.
