The camp was filled with the warmth of sunlight as a soft breeze drifted through the clearing. Lively chatter filled the air, and laughter echoed around the camp. The trees provided a cool shade from the scorching sun, creating a sense of peace and tranquility. Some kits were playing near their warriors' dens, their loud yowls filling the forest with energy.

Shadowkit watched the other kits playing on the other side of the camp. He sat next to his littermates, Nightkit and Fawnkit, then jumped up, fur fluffed up in excitement "hey! Wanna go join Rainkit, wingedkit, fernkit, Skipkit, and yellowkit!? We can pretend to be foxes! Well claw their tails off!" His sister and brother lashed their tails, purring "yea let's go!!"

Shadowkit, Nightkit, and Fawnkit raced over to the group of playing kits "Hey guys!" The group of kits stopped what they were doing and looked up "Shadowkit! Nightkit! Fawnkit! What do you want?" Rainkit meowed, tilting his head

"To claw your fur off and put it in our nasty fox dens!" Shadowkit snarled playfully, excitement bubbling in him. This is gonna be easy! Nightkit purred. "Yea so you better back down!"

"We're not scared of some mangy foxes!" Yellowkit purred smugly and playfully , lashing his tail "I'll claw your tail off!"

"Yea right!" Skippkit huffed "You're no match for our pouncing skills!" He leaped at them, paws spread and claws out

Shadowkit squealed in shock and excitement, before being bowled over "you mangy cat!" He playfully hissed "I'm no mangy cat! I've got better claws then a badger!" Skipkit snarled playfully as well

"Oh yea?" Shadowseeker watched as Fawnkit purred, rearing up on her hind legs, tail lashing. She was quite small compared to the others, but she didn't care. She lowered herself into pounce "Come and prove it then!" She hissed and batted her paw at Skipkit's ear

Shadowkit admired his sisters bravery and purred "yea show her!" He turned and pounced on Yellowkit, batting at him with sheathed claws

*Yellowkit let out a surprised squeak, rearing up on his hind legs, his paws clawing over Shadowkit's pelt* "hey!" *He meowed* "not so fast!"

Shadowkit meowed in excitement "and what are you gonna do about it, foxdung!?" He rolled the opposite way and stood on his paws, tail lashing playfully

Yellowkit bared his teeth and growled in playfulness, eyes narrowed in concentration "keep your dirty claws away from my pelt, you mangy fox!" He swiped a paw towards Shadowkit, claws unsheathed

Shadowkit jumped away hey! Keep your paws sheathed! He mewed loudly

Just then, the camp barrier bushes shook, and shadowkit and the others stopped playing to look at the entrance "what was that?" Nightkit meowed, his ears pricked, and tail held high.As shadowkit and the others watched, a patrol burst through the entrance, panting with fur fluffed up and eyes wide.

Shadowkit gasped as he noticed Sandrunner with a pigeon, and a scratch on her flank "why does she have a scratch! Pigeons don't scratch!" He looks at the other kits "should we go see!?"

His litter-mates fawnkit and nighkit nodded, and finally so did the other kits "yea, let's go see!" Fawnkit meowed "lets see why they're so surprised!"

Shadowkit bounded up to Sandrunner, and the other kits followed "where'd you get that scratch from!" He meowed, his tail lashing in worry

Sandrunner looked at the group of kits, panting hard, her eyes wide and filled with fear "me and my patrol went out to hunt, but we heard noise in the bushes... and then these rogue cats leaped out!"

Shadowkit saw the other warriors glance at her in annoyance, and heard Wolfstripe meow "sure. Sure that's what happened. You definitely didn't cross JaguarClans territory to catch that pi-" sandrunners tail covered his mouth "he...stepped on a thorn, that's why he's saying that..now....run along kits!"

Shadowkit tilted his head and looked at the other kits, then walked away, he looked at them all when they sat down "do you think they took prey from...from JaguarClan!?"

The other kits looked at him "...yea, I think they did..!" Fawnkit mewed, her eyes wide in shock and concern

Skippkit and the others nodded "yea, I think Sandrunner lied..." Yellowkit mumbled, his tail lashing with worry

Shadowkit gasped fear crawling up his belly like a cold claw "but that's against the warrior code!"

Nightkit padded up to him, and licked his shoulder "calm down Shadowkit.. it can't be too bad" Nightkit purred reassuringly, but shadowkit could hear a hint of fear in his meow

"But it is!" Shadowkit meowed back, distressed "they broke the warrior code! And you know it..!"

Yellowkits ears were pinned back "that's not good..! Nighkit! Don't you realize that they broke the warrior code! This could start a war!"

Shadowkit looked at the kits, he could feel their fear and tension "but...what if it does, start a war between the clans I mean..!"

Nightkit placed his tail on his back "calm down Shadowkit, the leader wouldn't let it get that far" he meowed, but he could sense doubt in his words

"The leader can't stop a whole clan..!" Shadowkits mewed quietly, not realizing that all the other kits parents called them over, except him, nighkit, and fawnkit. When he realized he looked up "we have to find a way to fix this..we have to sneak out!"

Fawnkit looked at him in shock, her eyes widening "sneak out!? What if we get caught!?"

Shadowkit looked at her "its a risk we have to take! Otherwise the clan could be in danger! And we wont get caught..I'll make sure we dont."

Nightkit shivered in anticipation "were gonna stop this from being a bad thing! We must!"

Shadowkit, fawnkit, and nightkit, sneak through the bracken , looking around, shadowkit flicked his ears hmm....wich way should we go first? I don't want to choose the wrong way.."

Shadowkit watched nightkit pause and listen "let's go where we can hear the river bubbling! This way!" Shadowkit watched as he charged forward, ready to take on anything.
