Chapter 1

*Lilia's P.O.V*

I giggled as I threw my fourth shot of vodka down my throat, jumping up and down to the music as I relished in the feeling of it.

"Whoo!" I yelled, continuing to dance without a care in the world, only to trip over my own two feet and stumble into one of my friends, Robyn.

"Jesus, Lilia, how much have you had?!" The perky redhead laughed, grabbing me and holding me upright.

"This many," I slurred, holding up five fingers, "No wait, this many," I held up three fingers and frowned when I realised it was still wrong, "How do I count to four?" I mumbled, staring at my fingers as if they would come to life and give me the answer themselves.

"Seriously, Lily? You're such a lightweight." Another girl, Blair teased playfully.

"Shut up, Blair, I am not!" I defended myself with another giggle.

As you can see, I've made some new friends over the last few months. There's Robyn Russo, the fun redhead, Nanci Taylor, the wild child, Jax Bentley, the fuckboy, Charlie Higgins, probably the nicest and least crazy and lastly, Blair Simpson, who I guess would be considered the "leader" of our little group. I'm still friends with Elsie, of course, I just have other friends as well now. Friends that I can do things with that I wouldn't be able to do with Elsie, like getting so wasted that I forget about life and just enjoy myself. I mean, I could do that with Elsie if I wanted to, but with my new friends at least I'm not the only un-sober one.

"Oi, Lils," I heard my name and saw Jax walking over, a spliff between his smirking lips.

"Jaxie!" I squealed, throwing myself at the blonde boy.

"Steady, Lils, how much have you had to drink?" Jax laughed when I almost knocked him over.

"You know, Robyn asked me the same exact thing and I don't even know why. I swear to drunk, I'm not even that god," I giggled, "Wait that's not right..."

"Yeah, she's pretty fucked already," Blair laughed. I just continued to giggle uncontrollably as I reached up and took the spliff from Jax, popping it in my own mouth.

"Nanci!" I saw Nanci walking over with Charlie behind her and ran up to the girl, "C'mere." I took a hit and leaned in to Nanci, who happily reciprocated as I blew the smoke into her mouth, our lips touching briefly before we pulled away.

"Thank you, Lilia." Nanci giggled, almost as drunk as me already.

"My pleasure, Nance." I replied, before a new song started to play and I squealed, "I love this song! Charlie, come dance with me!" I grabbed the tall boy's hand and pulling him into the middle of the room. Charlie just laughed and went along with it.

It was now almost 4am and I was waiting for a taxi to take me home. Robyn's older sister had given everyone else a lift home, but they all lived in the opposite direction from me so I was left to get a taxi all by myself. Charlie offered to wait with me since he didn't want me to be alone, but I drunkenly insisted I would be fine. However, I soon got bored of waiting so I decided to just start walking home. I took my heels off and carried them because even in my intoxicated state, I knew walking home in stilettos was a bad idea. I giggled to myself every time I tripped or stumbled, which was a lot. I was so caught up in my own little world that I didn't see the car pull up beside me until they rolled their window down and called out my name.

"Lilia!" It was Alfie.

"Oh, hey, Alfie." I laughed when I stumbled over myself, walking over to his car.

"Are you drunk?!"

"No," I slurred, "Well, maybe just a little, teensy, weensy bit."

"I should've guessed," Alfie sighed, "What are you doing walking home all by yourself? Especially at this hour? Anything could happen to you!"

"Ummmmm.... I can't remember.... Oh wait, now I do, I didn't want to wait for a taxi. Yeah, that's why..."

"Right, get in, I'm taking you home." He ordered.

"Okie dokie." I chirped, hopping into the car.

*Alfie's P.O.V*

I'd gone out to look for Lilia since Zoe and I were getting worried. I mean, Zoe and I spent most of the time worrying about her these days, and she had stayed out until pretty late before, but she'd never stayed out until this late. I was relieved when I found her walking home from whatever house party she'd been at tonight, although I wasn't too happy about the fact she was walking home at this time all by herself. By the time we got home, Lilia was fast asleep in the passenger seat. I sighed as I turned the engine off and got out the car, going round to get her out as well.

"Come on, kiddo." I mumbled as I scooped the petite girl up bridal style.

"Oh my god, is she okay?!" Zoe immediately panicked when I walked through the door with Lilia's seemingly lifeless body in my arms.

"She's fine, just very drunk." I assured my girlfriend, "I should take her up to bed."

"Alright, I'll get her a glass of water and some aspirin for tomorrow morning." She claimed and I nodded before heading for the stairs. I took Lilia up to her room and placed her on her bed, managing to pull her leather jacket off so she was just left in her dress and tights. I pulled the duvet over her and tucked her in, kissed her forehead and left the room, meeting Zoe out in the hall with Lilia's water and medicine.

"She still asleep?" She wondered.

"Totally passed out." I confirmed and Zoe gave a small smile before going into Lilia's room. I went back downstairs and waited for Zoe in the living room. She came in a few minutes later and sat down next to me.

"You okay?" I asked, wrapping my arm around her.

"I just don't know what to do, Alf," She sighed, "This is the third time this week she's come home drunk."

"I know, but you know why she's doing it, don't you?" I asked and she nodded. We both knew why Lilia was acting out like this; Callum was getting out of prison next month.

"Yeah," Zoe whispered, her tone of voice completely changing as this was such a touchy subject for all of us, "Which is why I don't want to punish her for it, I know she's just doing it as a coping mechanism, but we have to draw the line somewhere. I mean what if, one day, she just doesn't stop drinking and then she....she..."

"Hey, hey, it's alright," I pulled Zoe closer to me as she started to get worked up, "We'll get through this, okay? Together, just like we always do. Nothing bad is going to happen to that girl as long as we have anything to do with it."
