Chapter 8
"I smell rain," Dino observed.
"Of course you do Furry." Woolf joked with him. Dino growled at him and glanced away.
"Why are we even looking for Socks anyways?" Dino asked. Woolf shrugged and started walking faster.
"I hate this forest so let's make this quick." Woolf muttered, "Meme wants us to find Socks since he might know some info on Laff." Woolf responded after a moment. Dino nodded.
"I thought we all agreed Socks died." Dino said. Woolf shook his head and wrapped his tail around his leg.
"There's evidence to prove he's alive."
Woolf eyes then widened, Dino glanced at him. "Whats up?" Dino asked. Woolf pointed and Dino's gaze followed They saw a torn up Nadwe limping towards them.
"Nadwe! Are you alright?" Woolf shouted running up to hug the shaking Nadwe. Nadwe whimpered and looked at Woolf. He removed his hand from his neck to reveal bite marks on his neck. "Oh my god what happened?" Woolf shouted at Nadwe. Nadwe looked pale and his teeth were sharp. Dino also noticed his eyes were red.
"A-a vampire." Nadwe stuttered.
"We need to get him back to Meme, Quick!" Woolf shouted at Dino. "Your stronger you grab him." Woolf said. Dino scooped Nadwe up in his arms and winced at how heavy he was.
"Strong or Not this fourteen year old is heavy!" Dino said as he started stumbling down the path.
"Sorry Dino," Woolf murmured, they entered the forest where meme was living. Meme ran out of his house, his face worried.
"Did you guys find him?" Meme asked as soon as they met in the middle.
"No, but we found your son." Woolf said, side stepping, Meme looked surprised to see Nadwe in Dino's arms.
"What happened?" He exclaimed worried, rushing over to Nadwe.
"All he said was Vampire, I think he's still terrified." Woolf explained. Meme nodded.
"I would be too in this situation." Meme admitted. Thunder could be heard in the distance.
"Guys hurry inside, just stay here until the storm is over," Meme told them, Woolf nodded thanks and they ran to Meme's house and shut the door as rain started pouring down.

Joocie quickly ducked into a small opening in the side of a mountain as thunder boomed outside. Joocie breathed in with relief that he was safe. As he glanced around he realized the cave was bigger than he ever could have imagined. It seemed almost like a home. A crafting bench sat in one corner with a furnace that lit up the entire area. A small orange bed was placed in the corner. Along with a small chest that was overflowing with items.
"Hello is anyone there?" Joocie called out his voice echoing around the cave.
"I am." A cold voice said Joocie spun around and saw a person, someone familiar.
"Socks?" Joocie exclaimed. The figure looked like Socks. Besides the shadows pouring down from his eyes and when he opened his mouth shadows would pour out like dry ice melting. Shadows also covered the tips of his hair. His hands got the same treatment as his eyes and mouth. "W-what happened to you?" Joocie stuttered taking a step back. Socks took a step forward, shadows drifting around his rainbow socks.
"What happened to me? Oh to many things." he chuckled. "I see you now know, that means unfortunately for you. I must take your life." Socks said calmly, removing his netherite axe from the sheath on his back.
"What?" Joocie shouted leaning farther up against the wall.
"I mean you could be an ally but I fear you would betray me and see I have too much work to do for that to go already to waste." Socks said shaking his head. The shadows were pouring out of his eyes faster now.
"Socks, I can help you with whatever it is you need!" Joocie exclaimed in a pleading tone. Socks hesitated, the shadows disappeared from his eyes to reveal his bright brown ones.
"Really, you could help me?" Socks exclaimed. He then started laughing, He then stopped and shook his head at Joocie.
"Owner says you could be useful. You could give me information. That might be good!" Socks pointed, tapping on his chin careful in thought. "Yes! Yes! That is a good point!" Socks laughed to someone Joocie couldn't see. "Sometimes Owner you are smart."
"Who's owner?" Joocie asked cautiously. Socks' head turned back to Joocie.
"I forgot you were there." Socks sighed. "Fine juice head, I accept your deal. You stay here and answer me any questions that I have and you live. I gain, your friends lose! Sound easy to understand?" Socks asked cheerfully.
"Aren't they your friends too?" Joocie asked. Socks laughed once more, this time it was a psychotic delirious laugh.
"Not my friends. They aren't my friends." Socks smiled at him again revealing that his eyes and hair went back their shadow forms. His teeth were almost like fangs illuminated by the shadows pouring out of his mouth.
"They are just roadblocks I need to get rid of."
