Chapter 5

Izumi's pov.

I cant believe I did that last night. I havent broken in six years. Why now? Why him? I spilled the biggest secret of my life to some stranger and yet... I-I cant blieve I, Izumi Uchiha, showed such an emotion to an outsider. I know that I, much like cousin Obito and Shisui-nii, show more emotions than others but we also hide so much. Thats why its so hard to believe I did that.

It felt good though.

And the strangest thing of all... is that I felt safe when I showed such a strong emotion I suppressed for so long. Ive never felt safe except when I was with Shisui, my twin. Letting out a deep sigh, I folded up the last of my tent, then looking over at pretty boy, Seiian. His brown hair flowed in the wind and he was flipping it like a little princess while he shot a smirk my way.

I scoffed, turning, my eyes closing in on Kakashi. He finished packing his tent, and was putting on his pack. I guess I was staring a little to long, because the silver head turned, dark eyes catching mine in a confusing stare off. His eyes werent as empty as they were before. They held confusion and fear. Of what, I dont know. And, I dont really want to find out...

"Oh, Izumi~" The annoying client called my name in a sing song voice. An arm wrapped around my shoulders. "Why dont we walk together?" He was ignoring me yesterday... how could someone pull back to the way they were so easily. I sighed as I heard Obito snicker.

"Im sorry, Seiiran, but Minato has asked me to scout ahead. Maybe later." I brushed the guy off easily, feeling both Kakashi's and Minato's eyes on me. I turned to the blonde sensei, and he nodded. Nodding my head back slightly Obito fist bumped me and then I took off ahead, staying in the trees, and activating my Sharingan.

********

I stopped when I was quite a few miles ahead of the group. I tucked my bangs behind my ear, and took a good look around, letting my body drop from the branch I stood on, to the forest floor. My sharingan eyes spotted a small chakra network not far from me. I narrowed my eyes, studying the form.

A single person ambush. How smart. And from the looks of it, they may be chuunin rank. I glanced behind me, feeling the group get close. I need to hurry.

"Mangekyo Sharingan. Amaterasu!" I snapped my right eye open and listened to the screams of my victim. I deactivated my sharingan and dropped to my knees, clutching my eye. Thank kami he was the only one. I wouldnt be able to take on more.

I let out a muffled whimper of pain, biting my lip to keep the scream that threatened to come out, in. "IZUMI!" I heard Obito yell, and footsteps rushed to my side. "Izu, are you ok?" I pulled my hand away from my bleeding eye, taking deep breaths to calm my racing heart. "Izu, you didnt.. When did you get the..." I looked up into Obito's eyes as realization dawned on him. He was slightly blurry in my right eye. "Oh..." I licked my suddenly dry lips, nodding my head hesitantly.

"Yeah." Pain rocketed through my head, and I doubled over, clutching my head. "AHH!" I accidentally let mhy scream tear from my lips as I shuddered, squeezing my eyes shut and rocking my self in the fetal position, holding my skull.

"Obito, whats wrong with Izumi?" Minato asked, dropping to his knees next to me and trying to drag my hands away.

"Its an affect of the sharingan." Obito gathered me in his arms, bridal style, then stood. "Ill carry her. We dont have much further right? We can get there by nightfall if we go now." That is the smartest thing my cousin has ever said. Im so proud :')

"Are you sure?" MInato asked. I felt Obito nod and lift me up a little further. "Alright then. Lets move. And Obito, if you feel tired then let Kakashi carry her." I felt Obito nod again and then start walking. I could feel eyes burning into my back. Two pairs of eyes actually.

The pain in my head had dulled to a thob instead of a sharp stab. I let out a small sigh of relief. "Feeling better, Izu?" I nodded, wiping the blood on my cheek with the neck of my shirt.

*******

Hours passed and Obito was still carrying me. He never let me slip, nor did he show any signs of being tired. "Were here, Obito, how are you holding up?" I opened my weary eyes, they still hurt like hell.

"Put me down." I demanded, Obito stared at me, eyes widened as he thought this out. "Put me down. Now." I closed my eyes, feeling Obito carefully set my feet on the ground, but still kept ahold of me. Taking a breath I activated my sharingan and snapped my eyes open, flashing in front of the client, just as shuriken were thrown in his direction.

I caught each shuriken between my fingers and threw them back at the assailent. Everyone watched in amazement. "I noticed him just a little while ago. Seiiran, how close to your village are we?" I asked keeping my eyes on the assailents chakra networks.

"N-Not far.." The bumbling idiot answered.

"Hn." I smirked, letting my eyes dart around checking our surroundings.

"Izumi?" Minato caught my attention. I held my hand up, standing up straight and making handsigns. "Oh."

"I suggest you all stand back." I closed my eyes, finishing the handsigns, to what jutsu? My own personal lightning jutsu. "Lightning Style: Shock wave stream!" Lighting shot from my hands in a current, like water, through the forest sending an electric shock to anything and everything in its path, crashing against trees like waves of water.

Screams erupted through the forest, making my smirk widen if possible. I let my hands fall to my sides, and checked the rest of the forest for any more assailents. Fortunately there were none. I let out my breath and turned to Minato.

"Lets finish this." I started walking, leaving everyone beind me, staring at my back, before they rushed to catch up. "Im already done with this." I kept my face emotionless as we reached the teeny village. This was annoying. I had used my Amaterasu to early and ended up being useless for hours. Im not like this. I should have never asked for this.

Im becoming weak. And I dont like it.

When we get back, Im going to ask to be unasigned to this team. I will inform Fugaku-sama that my training is finished and that will be that. I'll join Anbu with Shisui-nii and Itachi. They still need a third person for their usual team, since even in Anbu they have the team rule as well, even if single missions are assigned as well.

We dropped the blub off, and I left straight after. This mission wasnt even an A-rank. More like a C-rank. Stupid.

Totally awesome Time skip brought to you by Tacos ^3^

I stood quietly in the back as Minato told Hokage-sama about the mission. Every now and then both of them would look my way, but look away quickly when I would return the look. When Minato finished he left to go home to Kushina, and I stayed behind.

"Whats the matter, Izumi?" Hokage-sama asked, a concerned look on his face.

"I want to leave the team. I was wrong in thinking this was a good idea. I was stupid and foolish and its affecting my fighting. I want to be placed in Anbu with Shisui and Itachi." I stated. Hokage-sama frowned.

"But, Izumi, you had one sole goal to obtain from this experience." I bit my lip and sighed, stepping toward the desk.

"I know, but I cant do this. Already on one 'big' mission my mind wasnt thinking clearly. He sent them again, and Kakashi found out. I told him most of it, and it was my fault. I wasnt concentrating on the mission." I stared into the Hokage's eyes. "I would rather back out early and keep everyone safe, rather than risk everyones lives for one of my stupid mistakes."

"I understand. Report to HQ tomorrow morning. I will have you placed on a team with Shisui and Itachi as requested." The hokage sighed. "Go home, get some rest. Ill take care of it."

"Thank you, Hokage-sama." I bowed and left the office, rushing downstairs and out of the Hokage building. I spotted Kakashi and Rin talking as I stepped into the cool night air.

"Oh! Hey, Izumi!" I closed my eyes, and tensed hearing Rin call my name. But I ignored her attempts to talk to me as I just passed by the pair, heading home. "W-Wha...?"

I clenched my jaw, as my hands tightened into fists, my feet still moving. I could feel Kakashi's eyes burning holes into my back as I walked away.

I finally made it home and as soon as I walked in the door and took off my shoes, I was trampled by a small Sasuke. "Izumi-onee!" His small voice yelled. I patted the boys head, smiling softly as his little arms tightened around my neck.

"Sasuke?" Shisui came into the entrance, and his eyes widened once they landed on me. "Izumi, welcome home." He smiled.

"Thanks, Nii-san." I stood with Sasuke still in my arms. "I have some news for everyone." I said softly, sighing and coming into the house.

"Well, the head family is joining us for dinner." Shisui put on his emotionless mask. "Is it something that will be approved by Fugaku-sama?" I nodded. "Thats good." We entered the dining room, where everyone was gathering around the table.

"Good evening, everyone." I put on a small smile as I carefully set Sasuke down, who ran to his seat.

"Izumi! Welcome home, dear." Mother smiled, as did Mikoto, who nodded in agreement.

"Thank you, mother. I have an announcment." I straightened up. "I have finished my training with Minato, and am now being placed in Anbu, on Shusui and Itachi's team." I announced.

Fugaku-sama nodded. "That is good. Im pleased to know you have passed your training in such a small amount of time, Izumi. It will be reassuring to have you on a team with these two." I nodded, sitting down on my knees at my place at the table.

"Thank you, Fugaku-sama." Shisui and Itachi shared and glance before smiling at me. "What is it?"

"Nothing," Shisui answered, staring down at his plate.Hm..

I dont own Naruto.
