Quick authors note. I know you all hate Bash I don't really like him as well but I can't keep just making the Devara POVs just Everson and Bash is the character I know best after him 😭 I'm sorry! I hope you enjoy. 🥰
Past light realm
Bash
One by one the royal children entered the billiards room, per Eversons request. The room dripped of money, to say the least, not an ounce of dust floated in the air. The ceilings stood tall, two glass chandeliers hanging over a game table, creating a low dim light across the room. The walls were wooden with deep dark wainscoting and the atmosphere smelled of spice and cigarette smoke.
Expensive leather couches lined the room and around a lit fireplace, where the royals took their seats. Their bodies created a circle-like position.
Kaida and Mara sat on one couch, their shoulders grazing barely. One look at them and you could tell they were close, the kind of close that could not be broken. A bond, perhaps. A bond between two people who understood each other completely.
He wondered if Enyo had a bond like that. Him and Enyo had become close over the summer with both of them being the oldest sibling of royals they confided in each other. But it was quite different for her, she had it more difficult than any of them. Enyo was a bastard child, she was looked down upon among the other Elites. She was not seen fit to rule.
It was bullshit.
They didn't know her like Bash knew her. He wondered how anyone could ever hate her, she was kind and soft spoken. And naive but not in a bad way. And she was there for him. And perhaps the first friend he'd ever had, that meant something to him. He wished she was here tonight.
Octavious sat down next to Nyan, closer than they should be. Nyan slung a gentle arm around his waist and Octavious wrapped an arm over her shoulders.
Bash's eyes narrowed in disgust and anger. He thought about kicking Octavious away from his baby sister.
But then that would just cause problems he didn't want to start.
"Well, hello everyone," Everson said as he finally joined them with a bottle of alcohol in his hand. His blonde hair was messy, falling over his forehead and his icy blue eyes had a shine in them that Bash did not quite understand. Ever was always overly happy, overly funny and overly extreme, but something was different tonight.
There was something deeper in his gaze, something he was trying extra hard to cover.
Everyone said greetings in return.
"Mind telling us what on earth we are doing?" asked Mara who looked nervous but also maybe excited. Bash couldn't help but think how gorgeous she was. Her dark reddish brown hair hung silkily against her golden bronze skin in a way that made her shine with beauty.
Eversons grin was the type of grin that took over his whole face, it was the type of smile that made you want to smile in return. "Well I'll tell you just what Mary."
"It's Mara."
"I know."
Mara didn't take offense to Evers rude comment; she just chuckled lightly.
"We are going to play a game."
Mara's eyes lightened. "A game? Ohh, Like truth or dare?"
"Sure," said Ever, "if I knew what the hell that was."
"It's a game humans play! I visited the human realm this summer and-"
"Okay we don't need a backstory, Mary. We'll play that I suppose," Ever said as he sunk onto a cushion on the ground, his alcohol dropping with him, splashing over his waistcoat. His eyes had glossed over, a new red tint in them.
He was drunk, Bash presumed.
Mara explained how the game worked. It seemed childish and stupid but for some reason everyone agreed.
Everson went to take another swig of the bottle, which earned a frown from Octavious, when it was snatched from his hand.
Everson stared, his jaw hung to the floor, shocked at Kaida who now gulped down the alcohol.
She shrugged, staring blankly at their shocked expressions. "What?" she hissed, she was truly terrifying. The look in her eyes said she wouldn't hesitate to bring them all down. "You expect me to play this foolish game sober?"
The room erupted in laughter, even Bash had a small smile on his face.
"Kai," whined Mara. "it is not foolish." then she took the bottle from Kaida's hands and took a swig herself, grimacing at the glorious burn that touched her throat, Kaida giggled at her face. It was the first time Bash had ever heard Kaida laugh.
"So I suppose everyone is drinking my alcohol now?" said Ever in a small voice, his gaze filled with sorrow at his drink.
"I'll go first," Mara said in a proud voice, her shoulders straightening. She wiggled her thick eyebrows at Ever. "Everson, truth or dare?"
He grinned foolishly, that lazy amusement covering his face. "Dare, sweetheart."
Mara's head tilted in thought, she was quiet for a couple moments before she smiled mischievously. "I dare you to go out into the ballroom, barefoot, and yell that you love Fae's."
Ever frowned, he didn't know what he expected but it was not that. "But I hate Fae's."
"Too bad," said Nyan. "You have to do the dare."
"Fine, with pleasure," said Ever with a sarcastic bow. He rose from his spot on the cushioned ground, his legs wobbling a little. He held out his hand towards Mara. "I'm gonna need a drink."
"Don't you think you've had enough?" said Octavious, who spoke for the first time.
Ever froze, his whole body stilling at the sound of Octavious's voice. Bash saw his nostrils flare as if he were frustrated. Bash knew that they had become close while he was gone, perhaps best friends. But Ever was angry at Octavious for some reason.
Ever turned his head toward Octavious. "You have no room to talk."
Octavious frowned, confusion showed on his face. "Are you angry with me, Everson?"
"Angry with you?" Everson chuckled, though the sound was cruel. "Of course I'm not. Why would I be angry, Octavious?"
"You seem angry. Is this about Nyan? Because if I knew you were going to be upset about us I would've asked for your permission."
"Of course not Octavious," said Nyan. "he's fine with us being together, right Ev?"
Everson smiled, but kept his eyes on Octavious. "Right, Ny."
"Okay," said Mara, who smiled awkwardly. "Now you have to do the dare."
"Very well," said Ever.
Everybody rose with him.
Ever frowned. "What are you doing?"
Bash grinned. "Well we are going to watch you, of course."
Ever walked out onto the ballroom floor, his feet smacking against the polished marble. Bash snickered, why had Mara requested that he be barefoot? It seemed like a rather cruel attachment.
The rest of the royal devaras huddled around the doorway, using the dark oak wood as covering. They all had cunning and mischievous grins on their faces as they waited for Ever to make a fool of himself.
"Do you think he'll actually do it?" whispered Mara who was huddled on the left side of the double door next to Kaida and Nyan while Octavious and Bash were on the right side of the door.
"Of course he will, it's Ever," whispered Nyan.
The ball was still going in full blast, the most Elite Devaras in one room gossiping and putting on fake smiles as they sipped champagne. The room was filled with the colors of Davalant, gold and midnight blue, they were draped in curtains and posh rugs and even the desserts were served in the peculiar colors.
Ever finally reached the middle of the ballroom, already having eyes stuck on him in confusion. His blonde hair fell over his forehead and his eyes shined red, Bash knew how he looked to everyone. Like a drunken teen. Which he was. Ever shouted above the music, "Excuse me, can I have everyone's attention?"
"Everson what on earth are you doing?" Hissed their mother who had turned red from the neck up at everyones glances.
Embarrassment etched her voice, she knew whatever Ever was up to was not good.
Ever ignored her, only grinning in return.
The music had stopped and the people had froze to see what Everson had to say.
"Oh gods, I can't look," said Nyan who hid her face behind the oak.
"I would like everyone to know," Ever shouted and spread out his arms. There was no fear in his eyes or in his voice. He was completely careless. Bash wondered where he got it from. He had no shame as he said, "I Like to fuck faes!"
There was a series of gasps and shouts throughout the room along with a few outburst of disdain.
The royal devaras gaped at him, their jaws hanging to the marble floors.
Mara's dark eyes went wide with shock and horror. "I did not tell him to say that!"
At that moment Bash saw his father look directly at them, they all gasped and quickly hid behind the doors but it was too late, Bash was sure he saw them. Bash peaked his head out slowly and saw that the guards were now coming towards them.
"Is it just me or are the guards getting closer?" Whispered Nyan hurriedly.
Bash knew what would happen next. They would be in big trouble, perhaps their father would even do so to lock them in the dungeons for a night or two. He could be cruel when it came to his children ruining his reputation.
Ever saw the guards heading toward them as well, as he looked back, no doubt the same thoughts running through his head. "Shit," he winced and turned back to them, his eyes wide with fear and adrenaline. He started sprinting. "Run! Run!"
Bash didn't think running would be the best idea but in the moment he panicked. They all removed themselves from their hiding places and dashed down the palace corridor, Ever in tow behind them. The girls lifted their ball gowns and flinged off their heels as they made a run for it.
Bash could hear the guards behind them but didn't dare look back. His heart pounded in his chest. "Head for the library!" he shouted at the group.
"You act like we know where the library is!" hissed Kaida, who had a point.
Kaida was in front so Bash grabbed her hand and moved in the lead, her other hand was linked with Mara and Mara's hand was linked with Nyans and they created a sort of line as they ran.
"Everson Crestwood your father demands you to stop!"
Everson chuckled breathlessly, of course, finding amusement in the situation. As they were running, Ever reached out and grabbed one of the statues that were lined up in the walls of the corridor. He pushed it down just before the guards reached them. It shattered and the guards tumbled over the pieces, some of them falling to the ground.
"Sorry Dan! I'll buy you lunch tomorrow!" Bash offered with a grimace and steered them into the library.
They all heaved over holding their stomachs as they fought to catch their breaths. They slumped against the bookshelves, their bodies weakening.
Ever chuckled at Bash, as he struggled to breathe.
"What?" Bash growled.
"His name is Dave, not Dan."
"Shit."
The rest of the group laughed at him as he put his hand to his face. Though he felt himself smile. His chest clenched, in a weird way he felt happy. It was only then he realized his guard had been let down. That comforting and safe mask he usually put on had fallen to pieces. And for a second, if not a moment he let himself feel. He felt special.
He didn't know why or what it meant but for some reason being with this group made him happy. Even if he only properly met them a few hours ago he thought he rather liked them.
They sank onto the floor too tired to find the sofas and sit there. Each of them stared at each other for moments before they yet again erupted in laughter. They were only fourteen and fifteen, yet Bash thought this would be the most he would ever laugh in his life.
"Did you see mothers face?" Nyan wheezed, wiping joyous tears from beneath her eyes.
"She looked as if she regretted not giving you up for adoption," snickered Mara. "and why on earth would you say that? That is not what I told you to say!"
Ever shrugged. "It felt like the right thing to say in the moment."
"You are truly brave Everson Crestwood."
"You can't be brave when you have no fears."
"Now that is a lie," said Octavious, turning his head towards Ever, a smug smile on his face. "I know for a fact that you are afraid of the lightbugs!"
Evers eyes expanded, so much they looked as if they would pop from their sockets. "Hey! They are terrifying creatures!"
This time, surprising everyone, Kaida burst into giggles. "But they are so tiny!"
"They are bugs that light up! You're telling me that doesn't horrify you?"
"No, not at all."
Mara giggled at her. "Kai you are one to talk, You're afraid of heights."
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
Settling down against the bookshelves, Bash watched as Ever winced and quickly lifted himself from the wood as if it was painful. As if he were in pain. His face had scrunched for a moment, a moment of agony flashed across his blue eyes before it disappeared. The rest of the group did not seem to be paying attention but It did not go unnoticed to Bash.
"Lift up your shirt," Bash growled at Ever before he could stop himself. He prayed that it was not what he was thinking, he prayed that Ever just had an ache or a small bruise on his back.
Everson hesitated, frowning, before his blissful amusement filled his face once again. "I only undress for the ladies." he wiggled his eyebrows at Kai and Mara.
Kaida looked like she, quite frankly, wanted to rip out his eyeballs and feed them to him.
"Everson I'm not joking," Bash snapped, surprising everyone.
Ever looked at him, his face showing nothing but his eyes showed it all.
"Did he hurt you?" though it was really code for, did our father hurt you like he used to hurt me?
"Bash," said Nyan, "what are you even talking about?"
Ever and Bash shared a meaningful glance, filled with several emotions but one of them was clear. They were not to discuss this here. Not in front of Nyan. Nyan still thought their parents were heavenly and innocent. Bash would make sure it stayed that way. He did not want her to be disappointed because she cherished them so dearly.
Bash smiled, faintly. "It's nothing, Ny."
"So," started Ever, eager to change the subject. "Mara, truth or dare."
Mara smiled and lifted her chin proudly. "Truth."
Ever didn't hesitate to grin wickedly, in a way that said, you chose wrong. "Is it true you have a crush on Bash?"
"EVER!" scolded Nyan, who picked up a decorative pillow and shoved it at his head. "You weren't supposed to say anything!"
Bash was stunned, his eyes flicked to Mara who had turned red from the neck up. Their gazes met and she looked terrified but all Bash did was smile softly in that strange way of his.
"Of course I don't have a crush on him. We've only just properly met, but that doesn't mean he's not too bad to look at," she said, the pride and confidence never leaving her voice, she was unbroken and unembarrassed. Perhaps she was red only from shock. It seemed there was nothing that could bring this girl down. "Which is what I told Nyan," she stated pointedly.
Nyan seemed to shrink in her place on the library floor. "I may have been a tiny bit over dramatic when I told Ever but sometimes I can't help it-"
"It is fine," said Mara.
After that they ended up talking for hours. About anything and everything. About growing up royal, about the responsibility that was constantly on their shoulders, about their parents. They related to one another in a way that nobody else could. They had fun too, and not because they might have consumed more alcohol than they should have, because these people were just genuinely fun to be around.
It was intoxicatingly refreshing.
After that night they would hang out every few weeks, whenever they got the chance they would be together. They would sneak away , from their lives, from their families, from the whole damn world. And they would have fun. For once in their lives they were having fun.
Being with each other was an escape from reality, they managed to forget who they truly were and the responsibilities that relied on them.
They traveled the light realm, country to country, they broke the rules, they broke the laws. They drank and partied and painted and lived.
Now they were in Stormcav, Mara's home country where the rules weren't quite as strict. They had found a special spot in the forest, it was a small watering hole, barely a lake. Grass, so green, covered the edges of the water that glittered in the sunlight. They swam now, laughing and shoving each other in the water. This had become their secret spot, for when they wanted to get away from everything they would come here and forget.
They got a taste of what true friendship was like, what having a family was like. Though there was no blood shared between them they were closer than they were to any of their actual families. But family and blood were two separate things. They had nothing to do with the other.
They had formed a bond, a bond deeper than friendship and more than family. They understood each other in ways that nobody else could.
They were happier when they were with each other.
Until they weren't.

Avaryn
Pirates know how to have fun, I thought as I stared at the majority of them dancing away on the deck to what sounded like tavern music. I leaned against the wooden railing, watching them dance and sing, celebrating their lives away.
"What's the occasion?" I asked Kalon who stood beside me.
She smiled as she stared at her crew. "We always celebrate our first night at sea. It's tradition. We'll reach land by dawn. Shausn is not a far journey."
"You guys seem happy."
She frowned. "Why wouldn't we be?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, I just assumed it would be hard to be a criminal always."
Kalon got a distant look in her eyes as if getting a flashback of memories she'd rather forget. "It's easy to be a criminal to a monarch you hate."
"I guess that is true."
My eyes searched the small crowd of dancing pirates. I knew who I was looking for but I didn't care enough to pretend I wasn't. After last night I woke to Raiden gone from the bed and I haven't seen him since, only a couple glances while he worked with the men on the ship.
Mazu had been with me all day talking, and teaching, passionately about her job, and I listened to her for hours, though it was somewhat boring I didn't have the heart to tell her. She had a kind soul, I was sure of it.
My eyes landed on who I was looking for but what I saw did not please me. I frowned. He leaned against the back railing, cloaked in shadows with a girl right beside him. She had long radiant black hair and shining green eyes. Her hand ran up his arm as she spoke to him and giggled. And he smiled. That stupid smile that felt like a knife had stabbed into my stomach. At that moment I wanted to stick my dagger in each of their hearts. Deep down I knew that they had done nothing wrong but I didn't care. All I felt was anger. And jealousy.
One thing I did know was that he knew I was staring and yet he did not look at me.
"Who is she?" I asked Kalon, hoping there was no venom in my voice.
"Oh, that's Fey, she's a hopeless flirt," replied Kalon, then she saw my face and wavered. "But I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with Rhy."
I smiled, though it was forced. "Me and him are not together. I don't care who he spends time with."
Her eyes went back to the makeshift dance floor and saw Mazu and Day dancing, she smiled. "I better get out there before my best mate steals my girl." she left my side and cut into the dance, saying something that made both Mazu and Day grin. Day then turned to me, his Blue eyes piercing through me. He strode over the deck with pride and arrogance, I refrained from rolling my eyes.
He smiled down at me, he reached out a hand. "May I have this dance, lady Ava?"
I thought of Raiden and Fey who were still talking and giggling in the shadows. I smirked at Day and took his hand. "Of course."
He brought me out to the deck, in the heart of it all. Slower music had begun to play and only then did I realize I had no clue where it was coming from. My hands rested on his shoulders and his at my hips, they were shockingly cold but only because I was used to warmth. Stop thinking of Raiden.
"Ava, where are you from?" Day asked, smiling softly and kindly as we moved slowly to the music, his chest pressed barely against mine.
"Arrawyn," I replied because I knew nothing of The Shadow realm geography. "What about you?"
"I come from Slyshade, on the coast."
"Interesting," I said, pretending I knew of the place. "I have a friend from there."
Something flickered across his blue gaze. "You are very beautiful Ava."
His chest pressed closer to mine, maybe unintentionally.
At that moment I felt it. Wild heat shooting at me from a far distance and I felt so very smug. Raiden was staring, I didn't know how I knew but I did.he was staring and he was angry. Good, let him be angry. All I could think about was that girl and her hand on him and that smile of his. So I did something unthinkable. I grabbed the back of Day's neck and kissed him, hard. He was startled for a good moment before he kissed me back.
The kiss lasted for seconds before I pulled away and patted his shoulder. He still looked stunned. "Thanks Day."
He blinked. "I ... you're welcome?"
I didn't feel Raidens stare anymore, so I looked over only to find he was gone. I walked away from Day then, I suppose I should feel guilty but I don't.
Just as I was about to reach Mazu's room that me and Raiden were staying in, my arm was grabbed and I was pulled in.
The room was dark so I couldn't see who it was but I knew. I always knew when it was Raiden.
My back was shoved gently against the door, my wrists were held in his firm but soft grip, In a way that said, I'm angry but you can leave anytime if you like.
And he was angry. I could feel it.
I could feel his face inches from mine, though I still could not see him. The heat coming off him was like a wildfire and suddenly I was very hot.
"What are you doing?" he demanded.
"What am I doing? What are you doing, jackass?" though I tried to sound angry, my voice came out in breaths like I had just run for miles.
"Did you enjoy putting on a show for me?"
So he was jealous, and I was angry. Angry at him for caring. Angry that I cared. "You started it," I argued.
I swear I could feel his smile. I felt my chin being lifted by his fingers, and I assumed he was making sure we were eye level. "My darling Avaryn, you have no idea what you are doing."
The tone in his voice made me shiver. I was on fire, though he was barely touching me, my skin burned and ached. "What do you mean?"
"I mean you should not care," he replied, frustrated. "I should not care... it will only lead to agony."
He was right. It would always lead to agony with us. But at this point I did not care. I just wanted him. I didn't care if it made me a horrible person. I did not care that he was a murderer and so was I. I didn't care about anything.
I flipped us around in seconds, him against the door and me in front of him. I could only take not being in control for a little bit. My dagger was at his throat in seconds for no real reason at all, it just felt as if it belonged there. "Do you hate me as I hate you?" All he had to say is yes.
I pressed the crescent of my knife more firm against his throat. The way he liked it. He leaned down our lips mere inches apart and his gaze never left my mouth.
He whispered, "How could I not hate you darling? You're everything I want."
Then his grip on my chin hardened and he pulled my face towards his, smashing his lips against mine, hard. I moaned into his mouth almost immediately. This. This is what I've been waiting for and longing for. My dagger was forgotten in seconds and it dropped to the floor in an instant. Raiden was kissing me like he was going to die in minutes and that's all that mattered.
His hands were on my jaw, and mine slipped into his white hair tugging at the ends. He groaned and his hands slid down. I was burning and aching all over. I forgot how intoxicating his touch was. It was a drug that I was happily addicted to. He burned but I loved it. His hands reached my thighs and he grasped them, picking me up in one swift motion.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, my body arched against his, earning a soft groan from him. This kiss was shattering and tremendous, filled with passion and heat. It was the desperate kind of kissing that I thought was only in movies. I opened my mouth against his, he tasted of spice and alcohol.
At that moment I heard footsteps and laughter down the hall and I thought of pulling away, but Raiden gripped me tighter, his hand tightening on the backs of my thighs and deepening the kiss as if he could not help himself. His tongue traced the opening of my lips and I shuddered against his body.
He broke our kiss but did not let go, holding my body tightly against his. His lips moved down, kissing my skin just as passionately as my lips, my head fell back unconsciously. I whimpered, biting my lip as his mouth reached the center of my throat. He sucked and bit and ravished me. I was swimming in dizziness as I felt him unbutton my shirt. I had never known my body could feel like this, like I was on fire but I didn't want to put it out. I ached all over and his touch caused it but also cured it at the same time.
"Oh," I moaned when his mouth met the top of my breasts and he stiffened at the sound, his body still and frozen for only moments. Then suddenly we were moving. And his mouth was back to attacking mine in urgency. We stumbled onto the bed, our hands and hips urgent against each other.
He unbuttoned my shirt with desperation and need, his lips were back to my chest and I was a moaning mess.
My hands fumbled beneath his shirt, touching his burning hot skin, he trembled at the touch of my hands.
"Avaryn ..." he whispered against me, as if my name were a prayer and he was worshipping me. My legs wrapped around his waist and pulled his body flush against mine. I moved my hips to a makeshift rhythm against him and the ache between them eased a little. He groaned at the contact, his body shuddering. "Please ..."
I lifted his head with my hands making eye contact with him. "What do you beg for?"
He brought his lips down on mine before answering. "You," he whispered, his dark eyes glossed over, filled with bliss and pleasure, almost like he was drunk on it. I had never seen him like this. So out of control. "Only you."
"Then have me."
He answered by cutting me off with his lips. I would never get used to this. Never. The sensation of kissing him was too strange. The pressure between my legs deepend when I felt his hips move against mine. I whimpered and he bit my lip.
My hands roamed him, his chest and his stomach making him tremble and I loved it. I loved that I had power over him. His hands eagerly ripped my shirt off me, his hands moving over my breasts and I was trembling and aching. I decided to deepen the kiss, moving my tongue with his.
His hand moved over my stomach, resting there. I pressed against him, more and more and ...
Pain, searing hot pain, erupted on my skin where he was touching me, I screamed in agony and surprise, flinching away from him so quickly I hit the head board.
In an instant he was off of me, flinging himself away from me. He stared at me with wide confused eyes as I shuddered in pain. I looked down at my stomach where a hand sized burn was imprinted on my skin.
"You burned me?" I asked out of shock without thinking of my words.
His dark eyes stared at the spot on my stomach, fear filled his wide gaze as he blinked down at me. He had gone completely still, his whole body frozen as if afraid to move.
I remembered what Roz said about him, that he can't control his abilities so he suppresses them. And that's why he was always in control. But he had lost control. With me.
I made a grab for his hand, my stomach still stinging with pain, but he moved out of my reach immediately. "Raiden?"
But it was as if he was not here, he had zoned out, his mind was empty. He had this distant look in his eyes, like he was remembering horrible memories and I knew it was of the last time he lost control. When he burnt down his mothers village.
And then suddenly he was in motion, moving about the cabin, digging in drawers and cabinets before he found what he was looking for. A small box filled with bandages and tiny vials filled with god knows what.
"I'm fine, Raiden," I said but he did not listen. It was like I was not here. Only my wound was. He had knelt in front of me now. Me sitting on the bed and him kneeling on the floor. His face was in a small frown, his eyebrows dram in concentration, his lips pursed in what seemed like anger. Though I was not sure why he would be angry.
He started to wrap the small wound with the bandages across my stomach. I put my hand on the side of his face and that seemed to finally get his attention. He froze once again, his eyes sliding toward mine. I could not recognize the odd emotion in his black gaze. "It does not hurt," I assured.
He pulled his face out of my grasp. "Do not lie to me. Not right now." and he continued patching my wound and I just watched him. Letting him do what he needed to do.
Once he was done, he sat there, staring at the injury. Was that guilt I saw in his eyes?
I scooted down and slid gently from the bed and onto the floor in front of him. He stared at me, confusion in his eyes. I grabbed his hand and he made a move to pull away but I gripped it tightly.
"Maybe I could teach you," I whispered, our faces and bodies inches apart and it made me think of our kiss. "Maybe I could teach you to control it."
He smiled though there was no joy in it, his forehead came to rest on mine and he laughed humorlessly. "I do not want to control it, deshima. I just want it gone. I don't want it at all. Do you even realize what could've happened just now if I-?"
"Summon a flame," I cut him off with a demand.
His eyes narrowed. "Absolutely not. Did you not hear what I just said? If I tried I would probably burn down this whole boat."
"Just do it."
"No-" but he was cut off by a loud bang, the sound so loud like an explosion. The boat shook with it, like an earthquake, things fell from shelves and shattered to pieces.
Raiden had grabbed me, covering my body with his.
"What's going on!" I shouted over the chaos.
Raiden stared at me meaningfully. "They found us."
