It had been years since Megatron had disbanded the Decepticon cause. He had exiled himself from both  Cybertron and Earth and was staying on an abandoned planet near Cybertron's called Charr.

He was surprised when he received a call from Optimus Prime who asked him to join the Autobots. Megatron declined having been glad to learn that Optimus was alive but not feeling like he deserved to be welcomed into the Autobots or on Cybertron for that matter after everything he'd done.

He was currently sitting on a rock thinking about everything that had happened since his days in the pits of Kaon before he had been a gladiator he was a miner called D-16 and had taken the name Megatronus when he started battling in the Pits of Kaon. Then shortened it to Megatron.

He had wanted to change Cybertron for the better to take down a corrupt and unfair cast system but had only became corrupted himself and brought about the war and the planet's destruction he was glad to hear it was now back to it's former glory and there was no cast system now that the Autobots were running it fairly.

He wanted to remain as far from the planet as he could afraid he'd somehow bring about it down fall again he was done causing pain and destruction.

Then he saw a space bridge open and two mechs he recognized came through it. It was his former second in command and medic. Starscream and Knock Out.

"What are you two doing here?" He asked them.

"We came to ask you to join the Autobots." Knock Out replied. Then Megatron noticed they were both wearing Autobot logos.

Megatron knew Knock Out had joined the Autobots at the end of the war but he was surprised to learn they had welcomed Starscream into their ranks.

"Since when are you an Autobot?" Megatron asked the seeker.

"Since I woke up from a comma I was in after I tried to use some minicons for an evil plan." Starscream explained as he let his wings drop still feeling bad about his past actions. "After I came back online Knock Out convened me to join the Autobots after we patched things up and became friends again."

"So will you join the Autobots too?" Asked Knock Out.

"No after everything I did I don't think I should be anywhere near Cybertron or Earth and The Autobots would never accept me with all the harm I've caused." Megatron told them.

"Megatron I'm sure they would accept you." Said Starscream. "I mean they accepted me." The seeker held out a servo to him.

"I already said no!" Megatron hissed as he tried to smack it away but ended up hitting Starscream in the helm and knocking him to the ground instead.

Starscream jumped back to his peds with his body now shaking violently as he started backing up to distance himself from the former warlord as his optics showed a hurt and scared expression.

"Way to go Big M you just triggered a panic attack!" Knock Out growled at him. "Why do you always have to hurt him?" "It's no wonder he's had PTSD since he came out of his coma!"

"Im sorry I didn't mean to hit him that time I only meant to knock his servo away." Megatron hissed. "It's not my fault he's always been a weak idiot."

Knock Out just frowned and went to help Starscream get over his panic attack.

Megatron felt bad everytime he was near Starscream he ended up hurting him usually intentionally but this time it had been an accident.

He had always taken out his frustration on the seeker and abused him both physically and psychologically even over things that were not his fault. Now Megatron wanted to apologize but didn't know how. And was trying to think of what to say as he watched Knock Out continue to talk to Starscream to calm him down.

(Flashback.)

It was during the war after Starscream had disobeyed Megatron orders and he was beating the seeker to punish him.

"Master please have mercy!" Starscream begged between blows.

"When will you learn your place you miserable excuse for a seeker!" Megatron bellowed as he continued to beat Starscream. "YOUR NOTHING!"

Then he tossed Starscream across the room where the seeker landed in a heap.

Then Knock Out who had heard a crash came from the hall to investigate and saw Starscream laying on the floor and rushed over to treat him as his medical training kicked in.

Only to be punched across the room by a blow intended for Starscream from Megatron the red medic hit the wall hard and slumped to the floor unconscious with a huge dent on the side of his helm.

"No!" Starscream choked out seeing his friend just laying there after hitting the wall then the floor.

"Now see what you've done?!" Megatron roared at him. "If my Medic dies it your fault!" He added before leaving the room.

Then he call Breakdown and some of the Vehicons and had them take both Knock Out and Starscream to the medbay.

Starscream insisted they take care of Knock Out first since the medic still hadn't regained consciousness.

But fortunately he woke up later that day. He had received the cybertronian version of a concussion but luckily recovered by the next morning and treated Starscream who kept apologizing to him the whole time.

And Knock Out told Starscream it was ok and that it wasn't his fault. But the seeker didn't seem to believe him.

Later Megatron had over heard Knock Out and Breakdown talking and Knock Out said he didn't like what Megatron was doing to the seeker's self-esteem.

(Flashback ends.)

Megatron now realize what he had done to Starscream during the war he had always mistreated him. And he wanted to make amends.

He decided he would start by apologizing to him. He started over to where Starscream and Knock Out were.

Knock Out said something to Starscream and the seeker started over to meet Megatron halfway.

When suddenly Starscream's optics widened and he rushed past Megatron and tackled a mech who had been about to shoot Megatron from behind some rocks.

And the two were now struggling. Megatron knew the other mech from somewhere but was having trouble placing the face.

But the black, white and red mech's identity suddenly became unimportant when he stabbed an energon dagger into Starscream's midsection making the seeker slump to his knees.

Megatron started over to help Starscream but Knock Out who was faster started attacking the mech with his drill and saw with a vengeance.

But the mech ended up grabbing Knock Out by the helm and was beating the scrap out of him. And before Megatron could reach them to intervene the mech who he finally recognized as Black Shadow tossed Knock Out who's body had gone slack into Starscream and they both fell over a cliff.

"NOO!" Megatron cried as he charged at the Phase Sixer now angry.

But he was meet with a static lance to the midsection quickly followed by a circuit booster to the neckcables and the last thing he knew before fading from consciousness was Black Shadow dragging him to a ship.
