Frida tried hard to keep her thoughts positive when she left her house. This was a good change. She was going to be living with her boyfriend, who was sweet as rain, and they were going to start a life together as well as a family. But she couldn't get past the fact that to start that new life, she would need to make some sacrifices and that included leaving her beloved Deutschland and her family behind. She would be moving to another country, a new continent, a whole other part of the world. It was a place where the people didn't speak her language and she knew no one apart from her boyfriend.

It was necessary. Frida could never ask him to make the sacrifice for her, not when he had already made a career and a name for himself in his home country. Asking him to leave it all for her was something she could not bring herself to do. With his popularity in Mexico, she thought that perhaps it wouldn't be long before he would be taken by a team in the old continent.

She could already see herself returning to Europe with her husband and their child by her side. It was what he wanted, and it was what she yearned for as well.

Despite everything, she cried for most of the plane ride to Mexico, which had been about fifteen hours. Jürgen had spent a lot of the plane ride fast asleep in his seat next to her. It had been completely exhausting for him to make the fifteen hour trip to Germany, help her pack her things into a car, and take a flight back, all without an ounce of rest. That was all catching up on him and Frida was thankful that it did.

He needed the rest and she didn't want him to see her cry. The last thing she wanted was for Jürgen to think she didn't want to leave with him. She did. But as she had told him in the car on their way to the airport, it was difficult to leave her family behind. She already missed them terribly.

Eventually she was able to get some sleep during the ride to Mexico, and Jürgen woke her when they arrived at the airport in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Aeropuerto Internacional Mariano Escobedo, she read off one of the signs when her boyfriend led her into the terminal of the crowded airport. It was some time in the middle of the night, and even then, she saw several people rushing from one place to the other. Some of them slept in the waiting chairs, others were in the airport restaurants having a snack.

Jürgen, who was wearing a hoodie, brought the hood up over his head and kept his head down. His hand gripped hers securely so as not to lose her in the crowd as he weaved past people, his honey colored eyes trained on the ground below. Even with her hand in his, Frida trailed behind him, huffing tiredly. He was several inches taller than her and had a longer stride, and being a football player, he was in between jogging and speed walking in a bee line toward the exit of the airport waiting areas.

"Liebe wait." She called from behind him. "Why are you walking so fast?"

"I hate it when the press finds me." He replied to her, his pace never faltering. "I like to keep my private life private, so I try not to go to very public places on my free time. Sorry, liebe. You understand right?"

She nodded her head, a lose strand of her jet black hair fell forward on her face, but they were walking so fast that she had no time to push it back. It kept getting in her way and she blew it to the side with a gulp of air from her lungs. Frida was partially thankful that he was so private about his personal life. She herself was not fond of the fact that if people found out she was dating Jürgen Damm, she would lose all privacy, especially now that she had moved to Mexico with him. And even more so because they were expecting their first child.

Frida saw the negatives as well.

If people were unaware that he was dating someone, other women would probably jump at the opportunity to throw themselves at him. Frida wasn't sure if she liked that very much--she didn't like it at all.

They made it out of the airport within minutes and Jürgen hailed a cab for them. They hadn't even stopped to grab her bags and she assumed Jürgen had arranged to have them sent to his apartment. Jürgen got the door for her and she climbed in first, with him sitting beside her. He gave the driver his address and the taxi took off into the city.

The clock on the dashboard informed them that it was forty five past midnight and Frida was surprised. She had felt like it was much later into the night than that. But she wasn't even tired. The nap she had taken on the plane had been enough for her. Jürgen on the other hand was sat next to her with droppy honey colored eyes and an almost worried expression on his face. He had kept the hood of his sweater on, in what Frida assumed was fear that he would be recognized by the taxi driver.

Frida said nothing and only placed her head on his shoulder for support. Her brown eyes looked out her window at the beautifully lit skyscrapers in the city of Monterrey. Just looking at the modern buildings reminded her just a bit of Dortmund

Jürgen lived relatively close to the airport, about a half hour distance and they were dropped off in a high end neighborhood, full of tall apartment buildings that looked expensive to her. He grabbed her by the hand and led her--this time at an acceptable pace--into one of the buildings. At the door was an older man standing guard and he greeted Jürgen with a warm smile. "Buenas noches, joven." He nodded to the young football player.

"Buenas noches." Jürgen greeted back and walked into the building, hand in hand with his girlfriend.

He trusted the people in the building enough to keep things like that to themselves, and they hadn't failed him yet. They were respectful, and friendly, and were able to keep his personal life out of the media. The press had yet to find out where he was living, but he knew it was a matter of time. When he was playing for Pachuca, he remembered changing apartments several times because he would often he stalked by members of the press. Those were not sports journalists that he was already used to dealing with. The ones that would try to follow him around were gossip tabloid journalists who were always seeking to put more gossip out there. Jürgen hated those kinds of people.

What did it matter what he did outside of the pitch anyway? That was his own private business and he wished to keep it that way. If he wanted to share something, then he would share it himself.

His apartment was on one of the highers floors and they took the elevator to get there. They stopped at his door and he got his keys out, fumbling with them for a moment as he sifted for the correct one. He unlocked it after a moment led her into the nicely furnished apartment. Everything had a modern decor, nothing like her house back in Deutschland. Her was every bit of what it was, the home of a family. His apartment looked more like what it currently was, the apartment of a guy who was living alone.

"What do you think, flaca?" He asked her as she took a few steps into the living room area and took everything in. Everything was so sterile and lacking personality, except for the framed yellow and blue jersey on the side wall of the living room area. No doubt it was the first jersey he had worn with the team. Next to that was his framed Mexican National Football Team jersey. The apartment he was living in had been courtesy of Tigres UANL, where he currently played. It had been offered as part of his contract and they would make the payments until they no longer needed him on the team. Jürgen thought it had been a great deal for him to make, since he had gotten much more money than he had gotten with Pachuca FC, and got a nice apartment out of it.

Frida thought it was a nice apartment too, but it wasn't quite her home yet.

"You can change anything you want." He offered sheepishly when she said nothing. "The club furnished everything for me as part of my contract and I just haven't gotten around to changing anything yet."

She gave a nod of her head. "I like the apartment." She told him. The space in itself was nice, and they had a great view of the city skyscrapers with a beautiful mountain scenery in the background. "But I might just take you up on the offer to change a couple of things. Maybe like an enormous Deutcshland flag." She added jokingly.

Jürgen chuckled. "We'll hang it right above the baby's crib along with a huge Mexican flag to go with it."

"That sounds just fine to me." She grinned.

"We need to go shopping for baby stuff as soon as possible." He commented with a small sigh, it was a content sigh. "That should be a ton of fun. We'll get his--or her--things, paint the room in a baby kind of color. And we'll buy tons of stuffed animals and footballs. I want to get those wooden letter things to hang on the door so it can spell the baby's name..."

"You sound like you've given this some thought." She raised an eyebrow at him, impressed.

He nodded in agreement, a smile spread across his lips. "Its all I've thought about since you gave me the news. I also want us to sign up to one of those parenting classes because I don't know ni madres about taking care of a baby. I want to be the best father in Monterrey and all of Mexico."

She returned to him, cutting the distance between them in a few strides. She took both of his hands in hers and looked up into his honey colored eyes. "It makes me so happy to know how excited you are about the baby."

He pressed his lips to her forehead for a moment and she heard him yawn when he pulled back.

"Still sleepy, liebe?" She asked him.

He nodded his head. "Its the jet lag."

"Well come on," She let go of one of his hands and walked in an unknown direction whilst still holding the other. "Lets go get some rest because I'm assuming you have football practice tomorrow."

"You don't even know where our bedroom is." He pointed out.

Frida smiled at the fact that he had called it their bedroom. She looked at him from over her shoulder for a moment, winking at him, "I'll find it."

It was the first day of their new life together.
