Sky POV

Mr. Ozpin has been training me for a few weeks now. I've noticed that he's been treating me less and less like a student and more like a daughter. I began thinking about why this was but my thoughts were interrupted by me getting hit in the head by a cane. "Sky what have I told you about zoning out in the middle of your training?!" Mr. Ozpin said, he didn't hit me hard but it still hurt, "I.. I'm sorry. I just don't see the point of all of this its obvious that I'll never be as good a maiden as her." I said and tears formed in my eyes, suddenly he lunged at me.

(y/n) POV

"I'm just saying I don't like Ozpin training our baby girl to use these powers. I mean she's only four years old." I said, suddenly Ozpin burst through the wall. "Mr. Fall, Miss Belladonna please control your daughter!" he said, then I looked through the hole in the wall and saw Sky floating mid air. Fire and Ice gravitated around her and her eyes had red and blue flames streaming from them, her once silver eyes now had an amber glow and the necklace mom gave her was glowing. "Sky sweet heart calm down its ok." I said, but soon after I was hit by a flaming ice shard sending me flying through the wall behind me. "WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!" Winter said, "looks like you've got some competition for the title of Ice Queen." I joked to hide how much pain I was actually in. "That doesn't answer my question!" she said angrily, I pointed at Sky who was still floating, "oh." Winter said, when I looked back at Sky I noticed the tears streaming down her face.

I got up and walked over to Ozpin, "What did you do?!" I asked activating my dark aura, "I better like your answer or else!" I yelled grabbing Ozpin by the collar raising him to my eye level.

Sky POV

I snapped. I wanted to kill Ozpin. I wanted to freeze him and shatter him for what he said, no one insults Grandma Cinder and gets away with it! I began to cry when he said "You're right you'll never be half the maiden she was, but you do have one thing in common your both WEAK!" and I lost control, but when I did I felt a warm sensation and when I looked down I saw Grandma Cinders arms wrapped around me. This whole time I've been trying to find my fire, but when I finally did it was unsatisfied. Then everything went fuzzy.

"Sky, Sky, I'm here Sky" a voice said, the next thing I know I found myself standing in a field Grandma Cinder standing a few feet away. I ran to her and hugged her I felt her warmth. "Grandma." I cried, "Sky." she said as she embraced me in a warm calming hug. "G...Grandma how are you here? I thought you died?" I said looking u at her, she bent down to my height, "I am dead sweetie, but now I'm a part of you." she said, I looked at her in shock and she just smiled. "Sweetie look around." she said and I did as I was told and all I saw was a seemingly endless field of roses. Some were white, some were red, some were blue, and some were yellow, but then they all turned a beautiful amber color. "What is this place?" I asked, "that's kind of a broad question, but for now lets just call this place your heart." she said, "why am I here?" I asked, "you have a bad teacher, why let a man who has no experience with the fall maiden powers when you could learn from someone who has actually used them to an extent. I will teach you and you will surpass me." she said and all the roses turned to glass and shattered, "Now lets begin!" she said as two blades rose from the ground in front of me.

(y/n) POV

"He tried to motivate her by insulting Cinder and it worked but not in the way he wanted she unlocked her semblance. This entire time he's been working at her nerves and when she finally snapped she tried to kill us, not that I blame her and could you please put me down." Oscar said, I sat him back down onto his feet. "(y/n) I know you've been more overprotective of Sky since what happened to Cinder, but its not like your the only one here who can protect her I mean just look at everyone who wants to see her safe and happy. They have become family, whether she or you realizes it or not." he said, I looked at everyone weapons drawn ready for combat. I couldn't help but smile at this. "Sky sweet heart are you ok?" I heard Blake say from inside the training room, I turned back to her and saw she was back to normal except for her amber eyes that reminded me so much of mom and Blake's eyes, "yeah I'm ok mommy, but I'm not going to be training with Ozpin anymore, not after what he said about Grandma Cinder." she said her eyes began to glow a soft yellow amber glow.

Several days had passed and ever sense Sky has been sitting in her room meditating. I found this strange until I saw her floating while she lit the wick of a candle on the complete opposite end of the room, I realized that she was training her new powers and learning hot to effectively use them on her own, I was filled with more pride in her than I had ever had before.

Today I had to go talk to James about the robots I destroyed and inevitably Winter would convince him to drop it, especially since they were old prototypes, but today it feels like James wants to give me hell. I got on my new bike, since my old one was destroyed along with my house, my car, and everything else that I owned, and drove to Atlas Academy.

It was about an hour long drive with traffic and sure I could have used my semblance to get me there, but I wanted to put off talking to James at least until Winter got a cup of coffee or in this case three cups of coffee.

As I walked to James's office for my scalding I bumped into a girl. "I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I said extending my hand out to help her up, "thank you. I'm Ava nice to meet you and judging from the root your taking your heading to the General's office aren't you." Ava said I nodded in response. "Well maybe after you get done there we can go out for coffee or something?" she said slightly blushing , I was shocked that she asked me out to coffee, "I'm sorry but probably not I'll have to ask my fiancee if she's cool with it but a lot has happened recently and I feel like I should be at home with my family." I said, "well then how about you bring her along. I kinda wanted to get to know you a bit, I'm new here so aside from my teammates I don't really have many friends so I try to meet as many new people as I can." she said and I smiled at her. "I'll check with Blake but no promises." I said she nodded and walked away.

When I got to James's office I was surprised to see dad and Ozpin standing there. "What's going on here?" I asked, "I thought I was getting yelled at for destroying those robots." I said, James shook his head. "No, Winter told me what happened to your adoptive mother and I wanted to ask you if you wanted me to launch an investigation into finding her killer." he said, "no need,the killers name is Lucinda and if I'm right then she is going to try to kill Blake again and when she does then I'll avenge my mother." I said earning a concerned look from my father. "Bud I know how you feel, but if what Cinder told us about your relationship with Lucinda is true then getting revenge will be impossible because somewhere deep down you do love her. So before you make a claim like that think about if you could actually pull it off, if not then leave it to someone who can." dad said, his words were precise and painful to hear. I got angry "you honestly think that just because I grew up with her and because I do love her on some level that I wouldn't be able to kill her for what she did!" I yelled, "Mr. Fall please calm down we're not saying that we don't think you're capable of killing her quite the opposite it's your willingness to kill her. It's one thing to kill a stranger in combat, but killing someone you know that's an entirely different story. It's harder to kill them because at the moment when you're about to land the final blow all the memories the two of you shared will come back to you and you will let her live." Ozpin said, "your right, but I have a question for you Ozpin and I want a honest answer," I said, he nodded in reply, "ok then. When you were training Sky you began to treat her less and less like a student and more like a daughter then anything why is that?" I said, " for that answer you will need to know the entire story." he said, he then told me a story about how he once had four daughters and how all four became maidens and how dew to his curse how he had to watch them grow up from afar. The entire story made me think of Sky and what would happen to her if she had to grow up without me.

After I got done with the meeting I called Blake and asked her if she wanted to go out for coffee with Ava and I, she said she would come but she was going to bring Sky along. I said that was fine and that Ava was going to bring her team with her. Blake said that was fine and that they would meet us there.

I met up with Ava at the coffee shop and told her that Blake was going to come and that she was bringing our daughter with her. A few minuets later Blake and Sky arrived and Ava couldn't get over how cute Sky was or how adorable the little bow on her right cat ear was, or how pretty her silver eyes were. Luckily two of her team mates showed up and stopped her before she got the idea to kidnap Sky. "Ok im pretty sure we talked about this Ava!" a tall girl with medium chestnut colored hair said holding Ava up by the collar of her uniform, "I know but look at her she's just so adorable!" a chibi Ava said, her long blonde hair developed a glossy shine, and her bright blue eyes began to sparkle, " she is very cute Ava but still if we let this continue we'll have another puppy incident." another girl with long brown hair and green eyes said, she was average height just like Ava, "I can't help but feel like were missing some context here." I said, "well..." Ava said, "we let her get a puppy and twenty minutes later we found it dead under her bed." the tall girl said, "how was I supposed to dogs cant have chocolate?!" Ava protested, Sky hid behind Blake after hearing about the puppy. "Oh wheres our leader? She is coming isn't she?" Ava asked, "yeah, but she got caught up in her weapon maintenance and should be here in a bit." the tall girl said putting Ava down. "Oh ok then. Well these are my team mates Hazel and Scarlet. The tall one is Hazel and this is Scarlet she's the scary one of our team." Ava said earning a smack on the back of the head from Scarlet. Sky laughed at this which made Ava smile a bit, "hey sorry I'm late!" a girl with long black hair, and sky blue eyes said, "no its cool I was just doing introductions. This is our leader Lucy." Ava said, "nice to meet you I'm (y/n) Fall and this is Blake Belladonna my fiancee, and our daughter Sky Fall." I said gently patting Sky on the head.

Sky POV

I was fine with everyone until I heard the name Lucy. It reminded me too much of Lucinda. I felt a worming sensation throughout my entire body, I knew this meant my eye color had changed to an amber color just like mommy and Grandma Cinder's eyes. "Wow how did she do that?" Lucy asked, "well sometimes her eye color changes from silver to red or to amber, its a trait people in my family have. I can change my eyes from silver to red at will." daddy said, "that's pretty cool Sky, do you like weapons Sky?" she asked, "yeah weapons are pretty cool, but I prefer to admire the skill needed to use the weapon more than the weapon its self." I said, "well wanna see my weapon? I have a feeling you'll like it." she said, I looked at my parents and they nodded saying its ok to go with her, "ok." I said as she walked me out to behind the coffee shop.

"Ok ready?" she asked as her locker landed, I nodded, "ok here it is" she said opening her locker revealing a large pole arm with a large fan like blade.

There was a second blade connected to another fan like blade by a long chain. "This is Tempest Wing, and Storm Xaio Long." Lucy said, "aren't they heavy?" I asked, "nope I have gravity dust embedded in the blades so they weigh practically nothing and combined with my semblance I can create storms." she said, I looked at her in awe. 

We went back inside and rejoined the group. Mommy and daddy had ordered me a hot chocolate. We talked for a while and then we all went home.

Lucinda POV

My plan is almost complete, all I need is a few more grimm and everything will be ready. I began to laugh at how clever and intricate my plan was.

Sky POV

Although its been some time, I still sleep with my parents. I just can't sleep in my room without having a nightmare. Sometimes I visit Grandma Cinder in my dreams or at least I thought they were dreams. When I went to my "heart" I saw the field of roses, but I couldn't see grandma anywhere. Then I saw a huge shard of ice in the middle of the field. I went to it and found that in the center was a huge axe. It wasn't like the one daddy used, but it seemed to be almost as powerful. "Sky get away from there!" Grandma yelled, "Grandma I'm sorry its just I  never saw this here before and I wanted to see what it was." I said, Grandma cane up and hugged me, "I know sweet heart, but that axe is very dangerous." she said, "why?" I asked, "it's called Goddess Fall, it manifested its self in your soul not to long ago. I have seen it before and I don't want you to have anything to do with it." she said, "no." "NO? Sky what do you mean no?" she asked, "you want me to surpass you, but when this powerful weapon shows up instead of helping me learn to use it you tell me to ignore it!" I said, Grandma just sighed "you really are my granddaughter. Well then if that's how you feel melt the ice and I'll help you master using Goddess Fall." she said, I nodded and tried to use my fire but nothing happened. I kept trying, but nothing happened.

I woke up and went to my room. I tried to use my fire and just like before nothing happened. "Sky why are you up?" a voice said from behind me, I turned around and saw Oscar standing there. I told him about my "dream" and how I can't use my fire anymore. "The answer is simple, if you cant use fire use ice. And as for your fire it seems like your afraid to use it, like if you use it you'll loose the only thing connecting you to Cinder but look at your necklace she gave it to you right?" he said, I nodded, "then you have no reason to fear your fire you'll still have your necklace to remember her by." he said I began to tear up then I stood up and finally used my fire, unlike Grandma Cinder's fire mine was a beautiful blue flame. "Thanks Oscar." I said, Oscar left and I went back to my "heart".

"Grandma I want to try again!" I said running up to Goddess Fall. "Ok sweetie give it you best shot." Grandma said, I nodded and summoned my blue flames into both of my hands. I fired the flames at the ice and freed Goddess Fall from its icy prison.

A/N: As promised this chapter was significantly longer. Tell me what you think of sky being able to change her eye color to red as well as amber, I thought it was a clever way to go about going about Sky's maiden powers.
