(3) Friends
The sun shone brightly as Casper began to pack his bag with the rest of his supplies that he needed to help set up his picnic.
"It's almost done." He hummed, gently placing two glittery leafy invitations into his bag before slinging it over his shoulder. The young kitten made his way over to his special location, his picnic party was due to begin any moment.
Like a blur, Casper skipped through the not-so-terrifying Winding Woods. Now that it was daytime with a bright shinning sun, the woods seemed extremely less frightening than the night before.
Quick and quietly, the kitten slipped his special packages into his special VIP's mailboxes. He then followed his imaginary trail back to his picnic spot to finish setting up.

As the sun began to set, Casper began to worry that his friends weren't going to show up. Suddenly, the rustling of a nearby bush drew Casper's attention. As he looked towards it, a small figure swooped behind him, too fast for the kitten to notice.
"Boo!" Oliver embraced Casper tightly as he screeched. "Did-jya miss me?" He laughed before he released the kitten, allowing him to turn and face him.
"Oli!" Casper exclaimed, "of course I missed you!" A smiled grew widely and brightly upon his face as he wrapped his arms around the owlet, hugging his friend softly.
"Yay!" Oliver smiled, fluttering around the kitten before settling down next to his new friend.
"Do you know if Alice is coming?" Casper sat down, placing his hands behind him and leaning back against them. Oliver raised his shoulders as he shrugged casually.
"She said she'd come after preparing a special something for the picnic." Oliver explained as he mimicked the kitten's pose.
"Alright." Casper smiled softly as the sun casually descended behind them, the warm air chilling with a cool breeze of the night.
Rustle rustle.
The rustling of leaves made the two turn to see Alice walking towards them with a parcel in her basket.
"Sorry I'm late, I brought goodies though." The hare smiled softly as she walked over to the two, sitting down in front of them and setting her basket out in between the three of them. "I made some carrot cake." Alice continued as she slowly unwrapped her parcel, the smell of freshly made cake wafting through the air.
"That looks delicious." Casper sniffed the air, before smiling with delight.
"Where are your other friends?" Oliver asked, noticing that it was only the three of them there.
"No one came... except you two." Casper replied.
"That's not nice." Alice scrunched up her face with concern and anger at the friends that didn't show.
"It's because you're my only friends." Casper lifted the corners of his mouth a bit to form an awkward smile. "No one wants to be friends with a scaredy cat."
"I do." Oliver hugged Casper gently, "I'll always want to be your friend."
"I want to be your friend too." Alice replied too, a warm reassuring smile forming upon her face.
"Awe. Thank you, I'll never forget you two ever." Casper smiled with tears of joy in his eyes.
"Now," Alice rubbed her paws together. "Let's eat." The hare then began to cut the loaf of carrot cake into slices before serving them to the others and herself.
The three laughed, ate, and drank the night away. Their friendship growing more and more as the night grew on.
They lived happily ever after.
