(2) Werebeast
Rustle rustle
A bush behind the two shook vigorously causing them to stop in their tracks.
Slowly spinning around, the two were greeted by a large black shadowy figure.
"W-what is that?" Casper shivered as he clung onto the owlet for protection.
"Maybe it's a werebeast." Oliver replied with little to no emotion.
"What's a werebeast?" Casper held his breath as the figure stepped closer, still shrouded by darkness.
"It's a creature from beyond the dead... dun dun duuuuunnnn...."
"We gotta get away or it will eat us!" Casper gasped and flung Oliver over his shoulder. The kitten then made a run for it, unknowingly going deeper and deeper into the forest. Oliver held onto the kitten's black fur, his feathers flapping in the wind.
"Slow down! You're going the wrong way!" The owlet screeched watching some of his loose feathers drift farther and farther away from him.

Slowing down, Casper released Oliver and began to pant. The little owl fluttered down next to his new friend and flapped his wings to fluff up his wings again.
As the two looked around, they noticed that the woods seemed darker than normal and the realization that they may never get out began to sink in.
"W-what have I done...." Casper began to panic, tears streaming down his cheeks and dampening his silky fur.
"It's going to be alright." Oliver gave him a warm, reassuring smile.
"Really Oli?" Casper wiped his tears from his face with his little paws.
"Of course." Oliver smiled wider, "only I don't know we are anymore."
"What!??!" The kitten's eyes went wide as tears pooled in.
"Calm..." Oliver flapped his wings attempting to sooth the kitten. "You can trace your steps right?"
Casper looked down and slowly shook his head. "No...." He mumbled as he began to cry again, fearing that he'd never get home.
Oliver looked down, he felt sad for Casper but didn't know how to help.
Rustle rustle rustle
A bush in front of the two began to shake.
Oliver looked up and froze slightly.
"Um... Casper...." He glanced at the weeping kitten and then back at the bush.
Rustle rustle rustle rustle
A bush began to shake vigorously.
Casper lifted his head slowly before noticing the shaking bush.
A figure stepped out from behind the bush and walked towards the two.
"Please don't run again!" The figure stepped into the light to reveal itself to be a white hare.
"A-Are you a werebeast?" Casper questioned as he shivered with a new fear. The hare shook her head as a smile appeared upon her face.
"No. I'm Alice the white hare." She waved at the two. "I was heading home from picking some carrots when I saw you two in the distance. I thought you might need some help, but you ran before I could speak."
"I'm sorry. That's my fault." Casper rubbed his arm with his other paw.
"That's alright." Alice widened her smile. "Now, do you two want some help getting home?"
"Yes please." Casper smiled.
"Okay...." Oliver looked down a bit saddened. Casper turned his head to his saddened friend and a worried expression fell upon his face.
"What's wrong Oli?" The kitten tilted his fluffy head ever so slightly to the left.
"Once you go home, I'll never see you again and then you'll forget about me...." The owlet whimpered lowly.
"I'll never forget you Oli!" Casper wrapped his arms around Oliver tightly but gently. Oliver smiled and wrapped his small wings around the kitten too.
After parting from the hug, the white hare lead the two younglings out of the Winding Woods to safety. From there, the three parted, each going their seperate ways.
