Call Me Hannah

"These don't belong here," Angel Hart said, looking at several books on the shelf at the library. It was a small, old library and she knew where every volume went. Some kid had apparently moved these two books. It wasn't like she had enough books to re-shelf, let alone trying to track through every aisle for books that were out of place too.

"Trouble?" a little, old woman with bright blue eyes and white hair said, peeking around from the next aisle at her.

"Oh," Angel said, startled. "No, Miss Breezewood. Just, things are a little out of place again."

Miss Breezewood walked around and looked at the books. "Oh, I see. Yes, I've been meaning to get around to that."

"Excuse me?" Angel asked.

"That" she said, pointing at a book in Angel's hand. It was called, 'As the Morning Light Falls'.

"Oh," Angel Hart said, "I've actually never heard of it and I'm the librarian."

"I read everything I can," she told Angel. "When you've lived as long as I have, it's hard to find anything original to read."

"Yes," Angel told her.

"You belong to that book club, don't you?"

Angel looked at her, surprised.

"Oh don't worry," Miss Breezewood said. "I won't blow your cover." She laughed. "They asked me to join once, you know."

"They did?" she asked.

She shook her head. "It's not for me. I like to read for enjoyment and then move on. I don't like to pick things apart like an autopsy."

"I see," Angel said.

"Some things shouldn't be picked apart or messed with too much," Miss Breezewood told her. "Anyway, when you go to your meeting tonight, could you deliver this to Mrs. Ravensdale for me, dear?" She pulled an envelope out of her purse. "We're old friends you see."

"But Ellie's office is right down the road."

"I don't like to bother people at work," she said, and handed the envelope to her.

"Um, Okay," Angel told her and took it.

"Thank you," she said, turning to leave.

"You're welcome, Miss Breezewood," Angel said.

"Please, call me Hannah," she said.
