Chapter 7

Chat Noir's POV:

"Strange, Shadowmoth is missing. "

" My father is supposedly gone for two months. No, that can not be right."

Chat Noir misses the thud as she lands on the rooftop. His rooftop.

"Chat?"

Chat Noir turns around. "Yes, M'lady?"

"I do not know how to tell you this."

"Tell me what?"

"Your father, he is Shadowmoth."

Chat sees the seriousness in her eyes.

     "What?"

      "You heard me."

     "Chat, I am sorry."

"It is not your fault, m'lady."

Chat wonders if Ladybug knows who he is behind the mask. It almost sounds like she does.

        "Bugaboo, where is he?"

"By he, I assume your father."

       Chat nods his head.

Ladybug sighs.  "It is rather complicated to explain."

      "Complicated, what could be complicated?"

"He is still in the house."

"Then, why did Nathalie say he was on vacation?"

"I think she freaked out too much to tell you what happened to him."

"Hmm, I do not think I understand."

         "Well, the thing is..."

Kaikki pokes his head around the corner.

"It is my fault, I believe."

"Wow, what does the horse kwami know about all this?"

       "Everything, I am afraid."

"Chat, do not be mad at her. I swore her to secrecy."

       "I made him vanish."

"Say, what now?"  Chat raises an eyebrow in confusion.

" The thing is, I changed his form,"  Kaikki states.

"So, he is what now?  A sheep, donkey, cat, dog, frog, a tree, what?"

Kaikki shakes his head.       He laughs.

Ladybug glares at him in dismay.

           Chat frowns.

"He turned your father into an actual moth.  He is so camouflaged he blends with the walls in his lair."  Ladybug blurts out.

Chat Noir glances at Kaikki and says, "Oh, is that it?"

Kaikki nods his head in agreement.

"What a relief?  I thought you were going to say you made him turn into something dangerous, or something like that?"

Ladybug glances at Chat Noir in surprise.  "Relieved, how can you say it like it is normal that your father is an insect right now?"

"He is a bad father for one thing, and for another thing, I am sure it is because of him we are not together."
