Alec hid Ally and Max behind the cart and then kept shopping while keeping an eye on them and making sure the twins were safe.

Alec finished grocery shopping and signed in relief when the circle members didn't see him or Ally and Max, paid for the groceries, loaded them into the car, put the twins in the car and drives them to the institute.

Alec parked the car and helped the twins out of the car, and unloaded the groceries.

Samantha Lightwood, Isabelle Lightwood, Chris Lightwood, Kelley Lightwood, and Eli Lightwood, along with Patrick Wayland, Jace Wayland, Mitch Wayland, Moon Wayland, Yasmine Wayland, and Lindsay Wayland all hugged Alec in relief when he enters the institute carrying the twins.

Jace took Ally and Max upstairs to their rooms to play with their toys and left them.

Samantha asked," What happened, Alec?

Alec said," 30 circle members arrived at the grocery store and were looking for me and the twins to kill us. Luckily, I stayed hidden. They passed by us, and then I paid for the groceries and headed home immediately.

Eli said," I'm glad you and the twins are safe. Please be more careful when going out.

Alec said," I will. In fact, I am keeping the twins home from now on. It's to keep them safe. I don't want them getting kinapped.

Isabelle Lightwood said," Alec is right. With mom and Dad divorcing, the twins need to be our first priority. That means we have to do anything we can to keep them safe, and with mom being pregnant, we need to protect her as well. Keep the unborn babies safe and keep dad away from the institute for a while.
