Alec Imagine: Lies {Request}
For @Miss-DragonRider
The glowing witchlights lit up the dark tunnels. Alec and Y/N had been tracking a demon for over a week now and they had finally received their first solid lead. Alec and Y/N had been very close growing up, training, studying, and most other things they did together. Y/N was adopted into the Lightwood family. As they grew up they still remained to do these things together. Including trying to ignore their half brother Jace, which did require two fully trained demon killing Shadowhunters to accomplish. Y/N watched Alec closely, she couldn't help the feelings that had grown inside her for this boy. His messy black hair, beautiful eyes, and most especially, his personality. The things that made him Alexander Gideon Lightwood.
"Why are you staring at the back of my head?" Alec questioned, pulling Y/N out of her thoughts.
"I'm not." She said, shifting her eyes down the gloomy tunnel. "I wasn't." She added for good measure.
"I would've thought being half fairie would help with the lying." Alec mused, he looked over at the girl trying to catch her attention. "You know about Magnus don't you." It wasn't a question. Magnus Bane was a warlock the Lightwoods had encountered while helping a girl named Clary Fray. A teenager that had no idea she was a shadowhunter. The cat-eyed warlock had taken quite a liking to the eldest Lightwood and Y/N couldn't blame him. She liked Alec a lot too. Magnus was a bit flirtatious with Alec, dropping sexual references, winks, and smiles. Although, Alec didn't understand it at first, the warlock had gotten under his paper white skin. Magnus and Alec had gone out a few times to Y/N misfortune. It hurt to see her best friend like someone else, not only had Alec kept secret that he was gay, he also didn't care to mention he was going out with someone.
"I know you've been seeing him." Y/N replied evenly. "Why-" She halted, looking behind her cautiously.
"Why?" He asked, not noticing that Y/N had stopped. "Because he's different. Exciting, funny, troublesome-which is actually a bit annoying but-" Alec yelped and moved back a few steps in surprise. A tall blue demon seemed to appear in front of Alec from nowhere. He fell back as he tripped on something in the dark. His witchlight skitted a few feet away from where he laid. His head pounded as he tried to take out his blade, but he had collapsed on top of it. He frantically looked up at the horned demon in front of him, sharp teeth and eyes shining at him. Then he saw the point of Y/N's demon dagger sticking out of the blue chest. He sighed in relief as it dropped dead on to the ground revealing the sweaty and grim faced girl who had just saved his life.
"I'm so sorry! I should have been paying more attention!" He cried. Y/N felt her heart break a little, he was perfect in every way, but he didn't feel the same about her.
"That's what best friends are for."
