SECRETS WERE Melanie Nyx's entire life. She stood on such a tall pedestal of secrets that she wasn't able to reach the people below her. It's what had kept her in line as a child, and it was what kept her away from people now.

It was against her will. Melanie hated the idea that her secrets are what made her such a quiet person. It's why she kept to herself. She had nothing but secrets that she would never dare share to anyone. Ever.

Except maybe Batman. Because he's a masked figure that could probably beat the shit out of her biggest problem ever. Or Robin.. Though Melanie preferred the hero over the sidekick, given that he wasn't as ruthless.

That's what she thought, at least. But as the new Detective and CSI for the Gotham City Police Department, Melanie started to catch on quickly that she wasn't the only one hiding a major secret.
