"Hold up? Shadow actually wanted to help you?" Sonic asked.

"You say it like it's a bad thing." Blaze said.

"I'm not! I'm just not used to seeing it." Sonic said.

"Well I don't really believe all outsiders are friendly but I did decide to give her a chance." Shadow said.

"Thank you Shadow."

"Oh! I almost forgot! It's the Shapeshifting Games today!" Silver said.

"Shapeshifting Games?"

"It's when everyone plays different kinds of games. Like Horse riding, Sports, Eating contest and more!" Sonic said.

"You should give it a try Ms. Y/N." Cream said.

"But I'm not a Shapeshifter."

"Not all games require shapeshifting." Knuckles said.

"Oh...well...ok. I'll give it a try. When does the games start?"

They heard Scourge roaring from afar as the others turned their heads.

"I guess right now." Sonic said.

"Hop on Y/N." Shadow said as he shapeshifted.

"Are you sure?"

Shadow nodded as he looked at you.

You climbed on his back and then he started to run along with the others.

When you all arrived, the whole animal kingdom has arrived as Scourge was sitting at his throne in his Mobian form.

Everyone was in their normal forms as Scourge began to speak.

"Welcome everyone to the Shapeshifting Games!"

Everyone cheered as he started to flex a bit.

"Not necessary." Knuckles said.

"We will start off with the horse racing! To those who are horse shapeshifters, please step forward if you want to participate."

Some horse shapeshifters stepped forward.

"Alright now we need the riders!"

"What do we get if we win?" The citizen asked.

"You will get this very rare jewel." He held out a shiny gem as the others gasped.

"Now that's a beauty!" Rouge said, coming out of nowhere.

"Where the hell have you been?" Knuckles said.

"Yeah. You haven't been here through out most of the story." Shadow said as he looked at her and then at the readers.

"Well we gotta have breaks from time to time right?" Rouge asked.

"Where's Tails?" Sonic asked.

"Right here." Tails said as he came from behind Rouge.

"Where have you been buddy?"

"Are you done?" Scourge asked as everyone else was looking at your friends.

"Sorry. Proceed." Silver said.

"We need some riders so who is willing to join?"

"I'll go."

Everyone looked at you surprised.

"The hot stuff wants to join? No questions needed. You're in."

You smiled as Shadow patted your back with a smile.

You were happy to see him smile for the first time.

Once it was all settled, the began to head to the horse field as the horse shapeshifters began to shapeshift.

Everyone else in the competition climbed on and they all stood in a line.

"You have 3 laps. First one to crosses, wins." Scourge said.

Knuckles waved at you in his Elephant form.

"Good luck Y/N." Knuckles said telepathically.

"Thanks Knuckles."

"We never had an outsider join our games before. Let's hope you have guts to hang on tight." The horse shapeshifter said.

"I'll do my best."

He nodded and made a horse purr sound as they got ready.

"Ready, set, go!" Scourge said as Knuckles made a loud elephant sound.

They began to run as everyone cheered. You held on tight as you saw your friends cheering for you.

Suddenly Silver looked at Blaze.

"Uh...did we tell her how different the games were gonna be compared to the outsiders games?"

Blaze stood still for a moment as she looked at Silver.

"Welp... she's a goner."

"Maybe this was a bad idea." Silver said.

"This isn't so bad." Y/N said.

"Wait until the surprise attacks." The Shapeshifter said.

"Surprise attacks?"

The horse shapeshifters kept running until the snake shapeshifters came out from a nearby barrel and started slithering and jumping towards them.

"What the!?"

Everyone in the raced track started to avoid them without stepping on them and getting hit.

"W-Whoa!" The crowed gasped a bit as you nearly fell off.

"Careful partner. We still got more ahead of us."

"Oh boy."

This continued on with the others shapeshifters like skunks, meerkats, birds, and the hard part, the lions.

Once it was over, you crossed the finish line and won the race. Everyone cheer as you were panting like crazy.

"How are you out of breath? I did all the running."

"What kind of race was that!?"

You jumped off as he turned back to normal.

"That's the Shapeshifting Games for ya but hey, we won! Nice job!" He patted your back and walked away as you stood their shocked.

"You did great Y/N!" Amy said.

"Congratulations!" Sonic said.

"Why didn't you guys warn me about the surprise attacks?"

"We didn't think much about it since this is normal for us." Silver said as he rubbed his neck.

"Congratulations to our winners! Come get your prizes!" Scourge said as you and your partner went to grab your prize.

"Get some rest everyone! Later, we're doing Volleyball!"

"Oh boy."

"Don't worry about it to much. Come on, I'll teach you how to hunt while we wait." Shadow said as he grabbed your hand and started walking away.

Meanwhile with the Shapeshifter Hunters, they kept looking around the the animal as the leader was getting impatient.

"Where is it!?"

"I don't know sir. We looked everywhere. Perhaps we should call it off..."

"No! We must find it and kill it! They will rule the world if we don't do something about it! Do you want that to happen!?"

"No sir..."

"Then find it before I remove your head instead!"

"Y-Yes sir. Come on everyone!"

Their horses continued walking as the animal watch from afar. It blinked at them as it slowly started to walk away but it accidentally stepped on a stick.

One of the men turned his head and said, "I found it!"

"Kill it!"

It quickly ran off as they followed it.

With you and Shadow, you were holding your spear towards the prey as Shadow held you steady.

"Very good. Now just aim the spear a little bit higher."

"Ok."

Suddenly, Shadow heard something from afar.

"Stay here."

"What is it Shadow?"

"Just stay there!"

You closed your mouth as he turned into a tiger and ran off. He uses his smell to track the scent as it led him towards the end of Shapeshift Forest.

The animal quickly ran past him as he jumped with surprise. It was to fast that he didn't see what it was.

"What the hell?"

"There it is!"

They quickly started yelling as Shadow growled at them. He roared and began to attack them.

There wasn't a lot of them so he didn't have to much trouble but then one shot him in the front leg twice.

"Gah!"

"Then they sliced his back with a sword as he grunts in pain. He suddenly did a very loud roar as his gem glows which sends a powerful wave that sent them flying.

"Whoa!"

Shadow tried to ignore the pain as he slowly went back to you.
