A week later, Maria and Shadow have been getting to know each other a lot better and they were starting to like each other. Derek sees this and sometimes teases Maria about her liking him but she didn't like it at all. One night, Shadow was looking at some files until he saw something fall out. He picked it up and widened his eyes. "Of course..." He said in a sarcasm voice as he walked towards Maria and Derek's cages. While they were sleeping, he opened the cages as they slowly opened their eyes. "Shadow? What are you doing?" Maria asked. "I'm setting you both free." "What!? But what about the court?" "Don't worry about it. Just go." Shadow smiled as she smiled back and hugged him. "Thank you!" Shadow hugged back. "You're welcome." "Freeze!" Shadow and Maria turned their heads as they saw the agents pointing their weapons at them. "Welp. We're dead." Derek said. "What are you doing Shadow?" Rouge asked. "They are innocent." Shadow said. "Oh really? You know you're not allowed to release prisoners early. Lock them up and Shadow too." Right before they could touch them, Shadow spoke. "Wait!" Shadow pulled out a picture. "Take a look at this." One of the agents grabbed it and saw that it was Rouge in the photo. "And here's the same cloak from the photo she was wearing." Shadow held it up as the agents looked at Rouge while she was laughing nervously. "Lock her up." The leader said as they took her away. "Nice work Shadow." "Thank you sir." He nodded as he walked away. Shadow smiled at Maria as he gently kissed her. Maria was shocked at this as he slowly pulled away. "I'm glad I met you." "Really? "Yeah." "Me too." "I love you. "I love you too." They both hugged as Derek smiled. They left the building and decided to spend time together.
