Luna was 5 years old and she was with Shadow, asking if she can play with him.

"Daddy? Can we play a game together?" Shadow was working on some paperwork and said.

"Not right now. I'm busy."

"You're always busy. Please daddy?"

"I said, not right now. I have very important bills to pay."

"But we never do anything together. You are always busy with work."

"Because I need the money to take care of you."

"But..."

"Go watch TV or something." Luna sighed a little and walked away. Luna turned on the TV to watch some cartoons. Luna has always wondered why her father never smiles.

When she looks at photos of him before she was born, she saw how happy he was back then and it made her smile. Luna wanted to know what made him stop smiling.

When Shadow finished with his work, he got up and went towards the kitchen to make himself and his daughter lunch. Luna jumped off the couch and walked towards Shadow.

"Daddy? Why aren't you happy?" Shadow froze for a minute.

"Did something happen that made you grumpy?" Shadow sighed and said,

"It's nothing."

"But...you seem happy in the pictures and..."

"What pictures?" Luna ran towards the living room and came back with a book filled with pictures.

Shadow widened his eyes as he saw some pictures of him and Bliss smiling together. Shadow quickly grabbed the book from her.

"Where did you find this?" Shadow asked.

"Under your bed." Luna said as she rubbed her arm nervously.

"Why were you in my room?"

"My toy ball slipped out of my hands and rolled into your room. When I grabbed it, I saw a book under your bed and grabbed it. I noticed that you had a lot of photos of this pink girl. Who is she daddy?"

"No one! Just...stay out of my room and don't touch this book again."

"But who is she daddy? Is she your friend?"

"Out of the kitchen!" Shadow yelled as Luna quickly left the kitchen. Shadow sighed a little as he looked at the book. Luna had no clue who her mother was or how she died. Shadow didn't want her to find out who she was. At least, not yet.

Shadow walked upstairs and placed the book back under his bed. He went back downstairs and began to serve lunch for Luna and himself. They ate quietly as Luna was watching him. Shadow looked at her and said,

"What?"

"Do you love me daddy?"

"Of course I do. Why would you ask that?"

"Because you never seem happy about anything I do. Why are you so sad all the time?" Shadow lowered his ears as he looked away.

"I don't want to talk about it." Luna lowered her ears as she continued to eat. Later that night, Shadow placed Luna in bed and kissed her forehead.

"Night daddy."

"Night Luna." Luna smiled and fell asleep. Shadow left her room, closed his door, went to his room and fell asleep.
