Signed Splatter
Athena had tears in her eyes, as she chirped one thing to the sky... Of course, I couldn't understand it, but, it sounded emotional.
I realized that Winter didn't get to meet Echo, nor, Lucy... They seemed to back off, anyway. I think they realized how important that the reunion and departure would be for us, so they went off on their own.
Though, they weren't that far away from us. They were still in eye-sight, which was good. It was now, finally, after all of the adventures, to meet their new home. I couldn't wait to show them, and teach them about everything...
I trotted over to them, and they perked up. I could tell Athena had followed me, because it felt like I was laying next to a fireplace on Hearth's Warming Eve. The comfort of the flame could only last so long... I preferred the refreshing cold, anyway.
I could hear the beating of Athena's wings on my right ear, and on my left ear, I could hear my thoughts racing through my mind, as they always do... And, that was only from one reason: Anxiety.
"Hey, Shadow!" Lucy said, finally initiating in a conversation. The reason I didn't start a conversation was because, 1. I was a very shy introvert, and being awkward was my thing. 2. Social anxiety.
"Greetings, so, you guys ready to check out your new home?" I asked, quietly. I think the knowledge of them having a home here, and our adventure ending for a small period, just hit them. They had been without a home for so long, they forgot what a home actually was.
Doggish smirks could be seen on their faces as their tails wagged twice as faster than they did before... "YES!" They both shouted with unison.
And so, we walked through the grass, and onto the path that led to the door of my cabin.
