Shells

The others caught up with me, and we all stood in front of the door.

I smiled, taking in the scents of home. "Alright... Are you ready?" I asked softly.

"Yes, miss!" Ollie cheered.
That dog could be cheerful even if he was exhausted... I respected that.

"I don't care! Just open the door already! I'm too tired for this..." Lucy said, annoyed.

That dog had major mood swings..
But I could relate. It's one of your best and worst traits.

"Okay, okay." I opened the door slowly, and let the others tumble inside.

They all went inside and layed down immediately. They didn't even care...

I shut the door slowly, stepping in myself.

But once I stepped in, I collapsed remembering how tired I actually was...

Though it was only the afternoon, we all slept the whole day. We were too tired to even care...

All was peaceful, all was in serenity...
It was great.

Maybe a little too peaceful?
Isn't something supposed to go wrong?
Isn't something action-y supposed to happen?

Little peaceful moments never lasted in my life, so I was always expecting something to be thrown in my face...

All was peaceful, all was in serenity...

Until...

BANG- BANG- BANG-
Came from the door.

I jumped up. ....I was restless anyway... It didn't matter.

I trotted to the door, expecting something to happen.

I peaked the door open slightly, expecting something to happen...

And it did!

There was indeed, a pony at my door...

They weren't here for a nice discussion, no... I knew better than that...

I knew one thing, though...

This pony wouldn't hurt, or even touch my friends.

"Why are you here?" I asked sternly, but quietly.

"Is this the she-devil you were looking for?" Asked the gruff voice that banged on my door to another pony.

The other pony laughed.
"Yes."
