The dog padded inside, and he was grateful to be inside. I closed the door softly after him, not wanting to startle him.

The dog shook briefly, trying to keep the water from spreading everywhere.

I approached the dog, and the dog had a doggish smile. ...Welp, now it was time to surprise him on how I could talk to creatures and all...

"Greetings, I am Shadow... And yes, I am not a pony. I'm very much a wolf." I stated, trying to be as kind as possible.

The male dog wagged his tail sharply, and looked joyful. He sat on the wood of the cabin, and prepared to say something.

"Hey! I'm Ollie! Thanks for getting me out of the rain! It was turning quite harsh!" Ollie spoke in only short sentences, basically shouting every sentence. I could tell he was a hyper dog, once you got to know him..

Ollie thumped his tail against the hard wood, making a up-beat tapping noise. ...I needed to ask him if he had owners.

"....Do you have owners?" I asked him. The dog looked down for a second, slowing the beat of his tail rhythm.

"I-I- Oh! You're wondering about why I have this collar on... I made it! Paw by paw, claw by claw, and fang by fang. It took a long time, but, I'm proud of it." Ollie stated, moving right passed what he was going to say to start with. That was okay if he didn't want to talk about it, but, it would come up soon.

"Okie dokie. Are you lost?" I said. This was like playing a game of fifty questions... Except, this time, the questions were actually important.

"Umm, nope." He said, laughing to himself. I could tell that he was retracing memories.
