New Things
I examined the rain as close as I could, and they did really represent tears.
"Why is the sky crying?" I asked, sounding like a filly. I had never experienced such a thing, but it sure was beautiful.
"You mean rain?" Replied Lucy, looking at me with a you-should-know-this face. But, I didn't know what this was...
"Rain. What tis this word you speak of...?" I ask. Lucy looked at Echo with a confused look, and they both looked back at me.
"Have you never seen rain?" Echo asked, on the verge of chucking. Why didn't I know this? It was obviously, important.
I shook my head. I looked like a clueless wolf pup, who didn't know their way around the territory it was raised in... Or... A confused wolf pup looking for the Luna of the pack, AKA the alpha female, AKA the mother.
They both looked surprised. But, then, Echo looked like he gained a boost of confidence. That was it--- He finally knew something that I didn't know... He could teach something!
Echo looked like he was wearing invisible scientist-pony glasses.
"Ah, you see, Shadow. Rain is..." Echo started to explain the whole process of rain to me, and I listened. I was completely absorbed into the knowledge that Echo was sharing with me... It was almost like reading a book, but, it had its differences.
When I finally learned about rain, and the process of rain and evaporation, I loved the Skies Tears even more.
I looked behind me, and I could see Athena cowered in a corner, still trying to back up, but she couldn't. It looked like she was hissing toward the window, and toward the rain. Even though rain would have no effect on her, she still hated it.
I laughed quietly at this motion, and Athena just glared at me. I stopped laughing and tried to hold it in, but that ended up with me smirking like a psycho pony....
