Cages
The story was getting interesting. I wanted to know more about Scoff... What happened to him? I needed to know. Was he still out there? I wanted to help, and I needed to help.
"His eye was a pure white slit. That gave him sort-of a dangerous, sharp, and just overall: "mean" look. And also, right below his eye, he had three scars. Now, these weren't from any creature we had run into, they were from our owners. He had gotten abused, like I said. He wasn't the only one. The scars were cut deep, and they would be there for the rest of his life. ...Of course after that, he had a shiny black nose... But, that was him.
He was mean because that is all he had ever known. He was mean because he thought he would be abused by everyone. He was mean because he was defending himself. Deep down, I loved him.
When I got placed in the back, he would always run over my paws with his giant paws... He wouldn't keep the balance in running, and he would run faster then me. He would occasionally stop all of a sudden, causing me to fall backwards, he would try with his might to get me out of his sight. This happened everyday for three years.
Once I had grown, I was still short and weak. One night when we did a race against another team, we lost. That night, the owners unequipped my things from the sled, and they took me into a back barn. They closed the barn doors and locked them.
"You're useless!" Spat the male pony. He was angry. He was angry that he didn't win the race. He was angry for me being weak, and short. He was angry because I was in his life."
