Unlearned Lessons
I didn't want to be right. I didn't want what I thought was true to be true...
Why? Why did we have to fight!?
Looka and I both met eyes at the same time, and they both widened at the same time. We both were afraid...
And afraid we should be...
"No! I'm not going to fight my friends! I'm not going to fight my family!" I shouted at the voice, but the voice was gone. ...But not for long...
'That's the only way to get out and save your friends, Shadow. Fight.' The voice spoke inside of my head. I growled at the voice.
Looka looked at me, afraid of what we're going to do... I didn't have a plan. I was supposed to be the cliche protagonist/alpha female, but I couldn't be one without a plan!
...I needed to save my friends, yet I had to fight them. I couldn't fight them, but it's the only way to save my friends and to get out of this... This... Underworld!
"Shadow... Can I ask you something?" Looka was way further in the back of the room, but I could still hear and see her.
"Sure." I said to her...
I was wondering where this was going... What was she doing?
"What was that voice talking about when we were in the blank room?" She hadn't forgotten. I told her I would tell her, but I couldn't right now... It would tear us apart...
I looked away... I tried to stall, but I couldn't. I didn't dare face her questioning face.
"Shadow?"
"I can't tell you..." I said in what felt like a whisper, but was a quiet voice. The room echoed my response and I shuttered at it...
"Well if you can't tell me, how can I trust you?" Looka said, taking on her battle position...
Oh no...
