Sunrise

I woke up suddenly, and shook myself like a canine, forgetting that Winter was still perched on me from last night.

Winter flapped her wings in alarm, taking off the ground.

I laughed quietly, not helping my laughter.

"Hey! So not funny!" Winter says trying to keep her laughter inside.
Winter glided back down, and perched beside me.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help it." I say, reviving from my laughter.

"We must've fallen asleep last night, though, that is odd because us owls are nocturnal." Winter said.

"Tis very odd.. I wonder..." I say trying to think of what might have caused us to have fallen asleep out of nowhere.

The sun was midpoint in the sky, meaning Celestia had risen it.

"Oh... I... I have to go home today.." I say sadly, not wanting to leave Winter.

"Oh..." She said sadly. "Well.. I will be here.. Maybe you can visit?" Winter asked with a sad tone to her voice.

"I have a better idea!" I say excited. My eyes beamed toward Winter, who had already started to waddle away.

Winter turned around swiftly, she stared at me intently. She was looking for some kind of answer from me. "What?" She asked.

"Come home with me! I mean, you don't have to live with me, but you can live in the Everfree Forest! There are tons of other wildl-" I began, but got cut off. "Are you kidding me!? Yes! Of course I would come with you! I don't want to stay in this sin forsaken place. Though it is beautiful, the past still haunts me.. I would like to move on.. If that is okay with you." Winter says beaming with hope and joy.

I nodded. Winter waddled back over to me as fast as her talons would carry her. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Winter says as she flies upward and spins while flying.

"Heh, no problem. Now let's get home before night time... It took quite sometime to get here, and to be honest... I randomly took a route and followed it here." I say full of guilt.
