Winter never told me this. Only the story of her and the humans, I never thought that she was the only snowy owl out there..

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before.. I was planning on it, trust me, but when I first met you, I thought you would be like humans." Winter said, the glint in her eye now disappearing.
"I'm sorry.." Winter said weakly.

"It's completely fine darling!" Astra said, still cheerful. The flame crept toward Winter again.

"She's right, it tis fine. Though, I need to know why you are the only owl, if you don't mind." I said, now being really serious. My tone got firm, but still soft to Winter. I didn't want to seem mean, or just ignorant.

"No, I don't mind at all.. But can we wait til tomorrow?" Winter says yawning. "I didn't sleep in the daytime, and even this nocturnal owl needs to sleep.. Even if it's in the night." Winter said, with a sleepy tone.

Astra and I laughed, then Winter joined in. The flame reached her, and she regained that glint in her eye. It was beginning to be night already, though I kind of wanted to stay out and go stargazing.. Oh well.. I thought.

"Come on, let's go inside of my cabin. You can sleep in there, I don't want you to get scared the first night here." I said quietly.

"Me? A scaredy cat? Nope! I'm an owl! Not a cat." Winter mumbles with pride, as she waddles over to the north.

There was a rock in her path, and well, you should know what happens.. But I'll tell you.

Winter then crashed into the rock, and stumbled backwards, landing on her tail feathers. "Ahh! That giant mouse, with the sharp teeth is trying to block my path!" Winter says obviously too tired to recognize the rock.

"It's only a rock.." I say, laughing quietly. "Come on, we shall go into my cabin.. I can carry you." I said still laughing.

"Yes, darling. You need to get some rest." Astra said, even laughing herself.

Winter was still mumbling various things that I couldn't make out. I just scooped her up, careful not to damage her wings, and carried her into my cabin.
