Candlelight

The book stared at me, almost as if it were saying: "Read me!!" No, no, no. I couldn't, and I wouldn't. This book seemed like it had some sort of spell to make you want to read it, and the more you try and not read it, the more you get sucked into reading it.

I pushed the book away with brute force, why did I even have this? I questioned.

Then I remembered. It was not myself who got the book, not my sister, not even my parents. This book was given by the ruthless ponies from outside. They pushed it into my doorstep, and I remembered my parents saying, "Oh look at this! This looks like a good book! You should read it." They said.

"Watch'ya thinking about?" Lucy now stared up at me from my paws. I shook my head in response.

"Nothing, it's nothing." I said in quickly. "Should we go?" I followed up right after. I looked at Lucy, who was a little confused but she responded.

"Yes." She nodded. I nodded in approval, and we went for the door. I went in front of Lucy, unlocking it, and I walked out, but held the door open for her.

She made a doggish laugh, and walked out. "Thanks." She stated.

"So where should we start...?" I asked, dumbfounded. I had really no idea hoe to hunt, where to hunt, and when to hunt.

Lucy lifted her head into the air, as if trying to view something and in the sky, but quickly her head descended into the grassy soil. She sniffed the ground, her ears twitched, and her tail wagged. She had caught a scent of a creature.

"HERE!" She said, running off while keeping her nose stuck to the ground.

"Wait for me." I whisper shouted, quickly catching up to the border collie.
