He looked taken aback by my answer, as he knew it was correct. He nodded, and smiled, showing his own fangs. I thought about it, but I quickly came to a decision.

I nodded, slightly grinning. This would be a whole 'nother adventure! I couldn't pass it up. He gasped, and his eyes filled with delight, like a crackling fire in the fireplace on a snowed in day.

"Really?" He asked for confirmation. I peered into his eyes.. 

"Indeed." I responded. Athena was quite confused about all of this, and didn't understand a thing. Hopefully she wouldn't be too mad I was bringing another animal into her territory. He whistled and motioned for to come over to us. Gladly, she accepted the request.

She stood up, and her tail wagged madly. She had a doggish grin on her face. She scampered and leaped over to us. She was waiting for a command by her master. 

"Master, master, master! You want to play now? Huh? Huh? Huh?" She said quickly. They were only excited barks to Gospel, but to me I could fully understand it. I had to keep that power a secret, too many creatures knew already.

"Calm down, Lucy." He said to the black border collie. "This is your new owner, Shadow. I'm sorry I have to leave you, Lucy, but this is where our part of the adventure ends, and a new one starts. You will be okay. I'll still be here in spirit, with you, always." Gospel hugged the happy dog. Water filled his eyes, and spilled out of them. "Always." His voice crackled due to the tears.

"What do you mean master? Are you leaving? Can I come with? Shadow is my new owner? What? I don't understand.." She said, confused. Her ears fell down into a sad position, and her doggy grin, drooped. 

She understood.

"I've got to go, Lucy.. Okay? You be good. I love you." His tone had become soft, and still crackled, as his last tear spilled and he smiled with hope.

"I love you too..." Lucy said, in a low mournful bark.

Tears overwhelmed my eyes, but I kept it together. I couldn't keep it a secret anymore. He needed to know what she said to move on. "She said.. I love you.. And I can understand animals.." I say after that.

He looked at me, not surprised. His smile just stayed the same. "I know." He said, and I was shocked, but not surprised.

"I've got to go now.. I must find my past to create a future and not make mistakes. Let your adventure continue, Shadow.. Keep Lucy with you.. Let your adventure become more than just a mission. I'm sorry it had to be this way." Gospel said, and looked at Lucy and I both.

"Goodbye." He said, and teleported off somewhere I couldn't of known yet. And that was the last we saw of him.
