The next morning, Ian woke up and looked through his window once again. But this time he looked at the city with a bit of felicity in his heart. Knowing that he had helped make the city a safer place.
But his journey was far from over.

   He went downstairs to the kitchen to see Shane before he left for school. Shane had his normal morning posture which was him drinking coffee next to the pantry and reading a newspaper.
'Morning, Shane.'
'Thanks for last night. You got the Night Circle off my back and saved a woman's life in the process.'
'No need to thank me, it's the reason I'm here.'

   When Ian arrived in school he saw Lucas and Lena talking in the middle of the hallway. He then approached them.
'Hey guys.'
'Hey, Ian!' Lena said.
'Did you hear about what happened last night?' Lucas asked.
'No,' Ian replied, 'what happened?'
'The police found two dead bodies in an alley with wooden stakes in them. Their bodies were extremely decayed, as if they've been for centuries.'
'Lucas don't say..............' Lena retorted.
'I think they were vampires!' Lucas said.
Ian cleared his throat loudly, and actually chuckled a bit.
'Vampires? You know they aren't real right?'
Ian scoffed.
'I know it sounds absurd. But if it's not vampires then what could they have been?'
'Lucas,' Lena said, 'there's no such thing as vampires. I think you've been binge watching too much of the Vampire Diaries.'
The bell went for the next period.
'That's my cue. I've got chemistry now. So see y'all later.'
Lucas left for his class.
'So are you and Lucas like a thing?' Ian asked.
'What!' Lena exclaimed trying to keep a straight face. 'No, he's actually my best friend. We've known each other since we were toddlers. What about you? Are you seeing anyone?'
'Not at the moment.'
'I also have a class too. So maybe we can continue this later.'
'I'd like that.'
Lena went right to leave but Ian also moved right and accidentally blocked her way.
'Sorry.' He said.
Then Lena moved left to leave but Ian moved left too and accidentally blocked her again.
'Sorry.' He said as she chuckled.
Ian let her move first, and get to her class.

   After school Ian went home straight.
He heard thud from his room. This was strange because Shane was not at home. Nonetheless, he went up to his room and found a man standing over his bed. Ian was not at all surprised. For the this man had a face he had known too well.
'Damien!' Ian said.
'Hello, little brother.'
'What are you doing here?'
'It's been twenty three years since we last met. I honestly missed my little brother.'
'You made it very clear the last time we met that you prefer to be on your own. So let me ask you again. What are you doing here?'
'I'm here because last night you killed two of my vampires.'
'Wow! So after all these years you're still working for the Night Circle.'
'I just came to deliver a message which is for you to back off. Maybe even leave the city for a while.'
'That's not going to happen.'
'Then maybe I'll have to pay a visit to Lucas.'
'Have you been spying on me?'
'I've been watching you, and I think it's pathetic befriending these humans.'
'I wouldn't except you to understand.'
'And that Lena, she'll pretty. It would be a big shame if I had to kill her before you guys went on your first date.'
'I'm only going to warn you once. Stay away from Lucas and Lena.'
'I'll take that as an invitation. You have an hour to decide. Meet me in the alley near St.Anne's when you've made you're choice.'
Damien went into the shadows and disappeared.

   Shane came home shortly after Damien's visit. He entered the parlour and met Ian sharpening a stake.
'What's happening?'
'Damien is back. I'm arming myself in case he tries to use to use my friends as leverage or worse kill them.'
'Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse your psychotic dick of brother shows up. No offense.'
'None taken.'
'So what are you going to do now?'
'He asked me to meet him in an hour and that's what I'm going to do.'
'Are you sure about this? Your brother is a very notorious and dangerous member of the Night Circle.'
'I can handle Damien.'

   Ian entered the alley near St.Anne's an hour later. He waited there for sometime before Damien showed up.
'I'm glad you came.' Damien said.
'I know you'd have done something crazy if I didn't.'
'What's your answer to my offer?'
'No deal! I'm not leaving town or backing off the Night Circle.'
'I don't think you have a choice.'
'Actually I do, and if I was, I would the city before things get very ugly for you.'
'You're threatening me? We been down this road before. It didn't end well two hundred years again and it won't end well now.'
'It didn't end well because you're a monstrous backstabbing excuse for a brother. I'm warning you, leave town or else I'll do something we'll both regret.
'Fine, you've made your choice but just know that whatever happens, it's on you.'
Damien walked out of the alley. Off to unleash havoc wherever he finds.

   Lucas on the other hand had decided to stay in school long after closing to finish up some search in the library. Unfortunately, he nodded off during the process. He woke up and realized that it was already nightfall. He cleaned his eyes and put on his glasses. He picked up some books he needed and left the library. But on his way out he saw a shadow behind him. Then this shadow suddenly disappeared. He went into the hallway to check for anything suspicious but he found nothing. Suddenly, Damien appeared in front of him. Lucas accidentally dropped all his books in shock.

   Ian remained at home that night watching tv. The night was cold and quite with no one out in his neighbourhood. All of a sudden, he heard someone knock on the door. He opened the door but found no one there. All he saw was a note left on the door step.
He picked it up and it read.

If you don't want to see Lucas' dead body on your door step tomorrow. Meet me in the school now. Come alone!

Ian squeezed the paper in his hand and quickly went to the school to save Lucas from his wicked brother.

   Ian arrived in the school only to see Damien with his hand wrapped around Lucas' neck.
'Damien, you don't have to do this. Let him go.'
'I warned of what would happen if you rejected my offer and I am a man of word.'
Damien tightened his grip on Lucas neck and started choking him. Ian immediately ran at him and drove a stake into his gut, releasing his grip of Lucas. Damien swiftly pulled out the stake from his gut. Lucas laid on the floor coughing and trying to breathe.
'You would kill me for this nerd?'
'After everything you've done, I'd kill you without questioning.'
'Wait, what the hell is going on?' Lucas shouted still laying on the floor.
'Long story short,' Damien said, 'we're vampires.'
'Vampires! Yes! Yes! I know you guys existed.'
'I don't think this is the time to be excited.'
Ian said.
'He's right. I'm about to kill you.'
'I know,' Lucas said, 'I just trying to celebrate being right about vampires.'
'Too bad your celebration will be short lived.' Damien said.

   That night Ian, Damien and Lucas were not the only ones in the school. Principal Stubbs was also there sorting out some files in her office. She had heard the racket in the hallway, and came out.
'What is going on here?' She asked.
Damien ran at Ian and put him on the floor. Then he whooshed to the principal and grabbed her by the neck. She struggled fiercely but could not break his grip.
'This one's on you, brother.' Damien said before he snapped the principal's neck.
'Shit!' Lucas exclaimed.
Damien then disappeared into the shadows.
Ian got up and helped Lucas up as well.
'She's dead! You're brother killed her.'
'I know.'
'What do we do? Should we call the police?'
'We do nothing.'
'What!'
'The death is too mysterious. If we call the cops they'll want an explanation, and we can't tell them what happened.'
'I'll tell them I just found her.'
'And what would you tell them you were doing in school? It's better if we leave now and pretend we were never here. The janitor will probably come before morning and find her body.'
'I have a lot of questions.'
'And I will answer all of them tomorrow. But for now promise me you won't tell anyone about vampires or what has here happened tonight.'
'I promise I won't tell a soul.'
'Good! Let's get out of here.'
Ian quickly left the school, and after picking up his books Lucas did the same.
