Shadow Travels: Twelve
ANOTHER TRIG WARNING ABOUT S/H
•Nico•
He can't know.
That thought was racing through his head, his powers taking control.
He shadow traveled, away from Will, away from everyone.
Well. . . Most living people.
He ended up at his fathers throne.
In the underworld.
Whoops?
"Son." Hades mused, looking down at Nico.
Nico shot him a glance, tears burning his eyes. He tried blinking them back, swallowing the think in his throat harshly. It quickly came back.
"F-father." He said shakily.
"Why are you here Nico?" He questioned, voice calm and emotionless.
"N-no reason. Accidental shadow travel." Nico grumbled. "That doesn't seem to be the case." Hades debated, looking at his son with slight curiosity.
"I-I. Just forget it." Nico said hastily, Hades sighed.
"You know, all because I'm a god doesn't mean I'm not your dad."
Nico froze again, the tears getting harder to contain.
"I know you miss Bianca, and I know you're slowly trying to get over Percy. It's okay Nico, I am here for you. No matter what I say." Hades said, emotion slowly gaining the light of day with each word he said.
Nico blinked back a few tears, it soon realized it was pointless.
He let tears stream down his face, and a sob shook his body, escaping his mouth.
"Dad." He whimpered, Hades shrunk down to human form.
"Nico. Tell me, please." Hades pleaded, holding out his arms.
Nico started to sob, his father embracing him tightly.
"Dad, I just. I just don't know what to do!" Nico cried, "He asked to see my-my scars." He blubbered, crying harder.
Hades— hiding his shock from how his son said scars— just rubbed Nico's back in soothing circles, enjoying his son finally opening up.
Persephone, having glanced in the room, was quiet. She quickly hurried off to her garden, deciding to leave the father and son.
"H-he asked. And I-I couldn't deal with it! I-I think I l-like him dad!" Nico cried, Hades smiled softly.
"You're a Di Angelo, life's gonna be tough. But you're somehow gonna overcome all obstacles. . . And live your life happily. Just like your mother and I." Hades whispered in his son's ear.
"B-but mom died horribly!" Nico cried out, "But she was gifted with love, and two wonderful children." Hades said softly.
Nico eventually stopped crying, silence was heard. Just silence.
Then.
"Hey dad?" Nico questioned, Hades hummed.
"Guess what?" He challenged, smiling slightly. Hades returned the small smile. "What?" He asked.
"He calls me Angel. And I love it."
"Is that so?" Hades said, Nico nodded.
