Your pov,

I ran into Anna's room.I didn't even knock.I was desprate like hell right now as I asked Anna for help.
"Anna!Quick,I need your help!"I said as Anna held my arms,trying to calm me down.

"(Y/n),hey,(n/n)!Calm down,what's the rush?"Anna asked.
"Mom!S-She's in my room!"I said,shaking a bit as I started to become worried sick o the guts.
"Hey,calm down.Take a deep breathe and tell me what's going on,"Anna said,looking into my eyes.

"My mom!She is shaking and she is screaming!She used my equipment and now,she is in the Shadowtime world without my conscent.She is playing it with my account!"I explained.

"Shh...she can log out and everything is gonna be fine,(Y/n),"Anna said as she tried to calm me down.

"No,it's not,Anna!Remember those dark shadows because of which we logged out?
My mom is surrounded by them.You have to log into the game and save
(your player name),that's my mother!"I said and Anna hugged me tight,calming me down.

"Shh...calm down.Everything's gonna be fine,(n/n).I will log into the game and find a way to get rid of the shadows and make sure that your avatar is safe in our camp,"Anna said and I nodded as I thanked her.

Anna immediately put on her VR equipment and the next moment she was i the virtual world of Shadowtime.
I was worried about my mom and wanted to head back to see how she was doing but,I also wanted to watch Anna playing to make sure,everything is ok.Just in case.

While I was lost in my troubles,I received a phone call from Jack.
"H-hey Jack,"I said,trying my best not to sutter.

"Hey (Y/n).Emma and I have been ringing your doorbell for a couple of minutes but,no one's answering.Where are you?"Jack asked.

"I-I will be there.Just give me a minute,"I said and it seemed that Jack knew something was off.

What should I do?
"(Y/n)?Is everything ok?"

...
I can't leave Anna like this but,I decided to head back.

"Babe,what's wrong?"Jack's voice from the other line of the phone brought me back.

"I am on ny way,just give me a minute,"I said as I started rushing back to home.

After a few minutes later,I got back to my home and Jack and Emma was at my door.
"(Y/n)!"Jack said as he stood straight when he saw me.
I panted as I didn' say anything and rushed to open the door.

I let Emma take her phone back which she left at our house while I rushed to my room to check on my mom.
After a few seconds,Jack followed me into my room with Emma and saw my mom with my VR headset on.

"I thought your mom was against VR games,"Jack said.

"I didn't even know older people could use the VR equipment correctly,"Emma said as I tried to calm down.
Jack scolded Emma and I didn't notice I was shaking and biting my lips so harsh until Jack shook me,holding my arms.

"(Y/n)!(Y/n),calm down.Babe,everything's gonna be ok.We are here for you,"Jack said as I glupped down the slaiva and nodded.
We looked at the mornitor where we could see my avatar.

Mom is surrounded by the black shadows!
Just then,Anna appeared.
"Well,well,look who's there to save a damsel in distress,"Emma said.
"Somebody wants to be a hero,"Jack said,trying to lighten up the mood.

"Stop it.Anna was the only one who could log into the game right away.I just hope Anna can manage to take my mom to somewhere safe,"I said.

"I like the fact that Anna is always ready to help.Jack,you'd do that for (Y/n) too,right?But,she still asked Anna"Emma said and Jack frowned as he crossed his arms while I looked down.

"I only hope that Anna remembers to use the artifacts she has,"Jack said.

While we were looking what was going on from the mornitor in suspence,Anna was trying her best to get close to my avatar.

He found her curled up pertified behind a tree trunk.The bkack shadows were surrounding and she coudln't get any closer to her.

Anna's pov,

I have to be patient and wait for the right moment to get to (Your player name).
Luckily,I found her just in time.

I tried to run to her as soon as I got a chance when the black shadowd went above.
I have to get Mrs.(L/n) log out of the gane otherwise she will be more afraid than she already was!

But,suddenly,one of the shadows flew down and went right through me as I started to feel pain throughout my whole body.

Meanwhile,(Your player name) was watching all of that in fear.

Your mom's pov,

Oh,no!What is gonna happen to her?!We both are gonna get killed in this stupid game!
I heard the girl yelling for help.

What do I do?I don't even know how to help her.If I did,I'd help both of us.
"Hey young lady!Help me get out of here!"I said and the girl groaned in pain.

"Just do something,anything!Ahhh!"she yelled in pain.

I didn't know what to do so,I clicked on a random icon I saw and it was a menu full of avaible magic spells.
Ok,now what?

Fire Arrow.

Surprisingly,fire arrow shot out of my hand and it missed the young girl but,it was enough to drive away the creepy shadows away from her.

I sighed in relief as the girl panted.
"Thanks.That was close,"she said.
"I don't know who you are but,I could use your help,"I said and she smile at me.

"Don't you recognize me,Mrs.(L/n)?"she said and I looked at her closely before I realized that it was Anna.

"Anna?"I said and she smiled at me gently.
"Inside the game,my name's Anastasia.We have to get out of here as soon as possible while we still have the chance,"Anna said,smiling.

"Oh,why did I do this to myself?"I mumbled.
"You should've asked (Y/n).She'd have show you the game but,not in this way.
This isn't the best way for you or her,"Anna said.

"This game is dangerous!"I said and Anna looked worried.
"It can be but,we don't have tume for this.We have to get oht no,"Anna said and just then,the shadows slowky started coming down again and formed a circle around us,preventing us to get out of the woods.

"Quick,Mrs.(L/n),take one of these,"Anna said as she showed me two tiny artifacts.
The triangle one looked more beautiful.
"I will take the triangle shaped one.It looks beautiful"I said and Anna smiled.

"That's a teleportatipn token.You can activate it now,"she said.
"Am I going to teleport myself?"I asked.
"Yes,quite an ordianry thing.After you do that.Select the camp on the map.It's marked.I will meet you there,"Anna siad.

God,what did I do to deserve this?

Back to you guys,

"Looks like Anna is going to save your avatar after all,"Jack said,holding his hand on his hip.
"I knew she'd make it!"I said,happily.
"I was wondering...would she have made it if she hadn't had the artifacts with her?"Jack said.

Wait...
"I am sure she would,"I said and Jack kinda looked away and I was sure.

He is...jealous.

"But,how?She'd probably have cheated as she always does,"Emma said.
"Anna would never cheat,Emma,"I said,narrowing my eyes.

"I've heard different stories.Sorry,I was just joking,"Emma said.
"We all have our reasons for deciding to enter the virtual world,"Jack said.
"Jack,please.I'd love to know what Emma wants to say,"I said.

"I heard you started playing Shadowtime just because you could be somebody else,"Emma said and I flinched a bit,recalling my memories of me playing the game for the first time.

"There's nothing odd about that,"Jack said,raising a brow.
"But,what if you never get to play the game then after this incident,"Emma said and I frowned.
She is right.After this,I am sure mom would take away my VR equipment for good.

"It doesn't matter.I want all of this to end now,"I said.
"I don't believe you,(Y/n).You're not that indifferent,"Emma said.

I said nothing but,stood there.
"Hey,whatever happens,I'll try to persuade Mrs.(L/n) to let you play Shadowtime,"Jack said,putting a hand on my shoulder.
I smiled at him faintly.

I looked back at the mornitor.
Anna managed to save my avatar and judging by my mother's expression,she seems happy.
"Look,(Y/n).Your mother isn't scared anymore.That's a good sign,"mom said.
"Ooh...Anna is lucky,"Jack said,smiling.

I looked at my mom.She was really smiling.
She and Anna were safe.And now,both of them are in the camp.

Back in Shadowtime,your mom's pov,

"We're safe now.At least for a while,"Anna said as she and I sat down by the fire.
"Whew!That was close.I don't want to stay here more than a minute I should,"I said.

"Honestly,I was really scared when (Y/n)
came to me to say what you were doing,"Anna said.
"I didn't even know what I was doing.I just want to know what it was that attracted you all to this game,"I said,sighing.

"Mrs.(L/n),what do you think about the game now?After...what you've been through today,"Anna asked.

Hmm...

"I am not really sure.It's somehow horrifying and exciting at the same time.Up to a point,I understand why this hame is so popular,"I said and Anna smiled.

"You know...(Y/n) was worried about you and on the other hand,she is also worried about how you'll react when you log out of the game,"Anna said and I rolled my eyes.

"She never explained to me about the game in details before.Had I known,I'd be feeling fear,pain and exhaustation.I may never have dared to try it,"I said.

But,(Y/n) loves this game so much.

"Yea,the game can be fatal for some players,"Anna said.
Fatal?!
I asked Anna to tell me all about the game.
(Y/n) sure has a lot of explainations to do.
I shouldn't have given her back the equipment.

Anna pleaded me not to be too harsh on
(Y/n) about the game.She is probably worried about me right now.
I asked Anna how to log out and she helped me log out of the game.

Anna's pov,

I sighed.
I did  my best.
Everything is in the hands of Mrs.(L/n) now.
I feared (Y/n)'d never be able to play with me again.

As I thought,I didn't notice he black shadowd forming around the camp and narrowing down,thus,reducing the chance to escape.

I gasped and I took out my sword ready to fight when I realized that I was trapped.
The black shadows all gathered into one and I gasped when it turned into the Shadow Knight.

"You're the one who woke up the black shadows and you're the one who'll be walking together with them"

Then,the Shadow knight came towards me and everything went black.

Back in reality,your pov,

The moment mom took off the equipment,she immediately looked at me and gosh,her look was scarier than anything right now.
Anna was lying unconscious alone.
And I was worried sick for her right now.

"Mrs.(L/n),"Jack said and mok looked at him surprised.
"I thought you went home,"she saud.
"We're sorry,Mrs.(L/n).I left my phone and (Y/n) was worried about you so,we simply couldn't leave her alone,"Emma said.

"(Y/n),you'll have a a lot to explain,"mom said,shooting a glare at me.
"I will,mom.I prmoise I will expain but,right now-"I was cut off by mom.
"Your friends will understand,(Y/n)"

Since my friends felt their persence was no longer necessary,they said goodbye and left our home.

I was left alone with mom and I waited for her to get mad and yell at me like before.
But,she didn't.
Mom sighed.
"Listen,I don't want you to think that I am heartless and that I am not thankful to Anna,"she said.

"I know,mom.Anna'd never have found out if I didn't tell her about you needing help,"I said as I tried to calm down.
"I was wrong to do it on my own.I know that now,"she said.

"Mom,why didn't you just tell me if you want to play Shadowtime?I could have prepared it a littel better but,not like this,"I said.

"I didn't want to play it,(Y/n).I just wanted to see how my daughter was spending her free time,"she said and my eyes widened.

I looked down.
"I am so sorry you had such a bad experience.But,next time,I will show you a wonderful place.Because the game is so much fun,you'd be surprised,"I said,a little hoping that she wouldn't take my equipment away.

"I can only imagine,"she said with a calm face.
"I know what you are gonna do now,"I said,looking down.

"Oh,rught.Girls your age thinks theu know everything.So tell me then.What excatly do you think I am about to do?"mom said.

"You're gonna take ny VR equipment away and throw it away,"I said,looking down.
"Hmm...thank for the suggestion,
(Y/n),"mom said,smiling and I frowned.

"You're really gonna do that?"I asked and mom was silent for some time and then,she showed me to take a seat next to her as she sat down on my bed.

They say it's calm before the storm and I was really nervous right now as I sat down beside her.And I was curious to know what mom thinks now.

She placed her hand onto mine and talked to me in a voice more silent than usual.
"(Y/n),I don't want to be a mother who you'll lie to just beacuse you think I am going to object  whatever you want to do,"she said.

"Mom,I didn't lie to you.I was just...not telling you everything that was supposed to,"I said and she sighed.
"See?You immediately supposed I'd be mad at you and that I'd hate the virtual world and all that techonology even more after my experience?"mom said and I looked at her confused.

"What do you mean,mom?"I asked.
"What I want to say is...I'm impressed with what you acheived in that game.Besides becoming a good player,you've met friends who'd love you and respect you,"mom said.

"You really mean that,mom?"I said,smiling a bit.
"Yes,(Y/n) and rught now,one of your friends desprately need your help,"mom said and I knew what she meant.

I jumped into her arms and held her tight as I started telling her about how grateful I was and that how she is the best mother in the whole world.

I didn't waste a moment and immediately logged into Shadowtime while mom was curiously waiting to see whay would happen next from my mornitor.

As soon as I was back in the game and saw Anna,I ran to her side and picked her up in my arms,making sure that she was fine.

I sighed in relief,relizing she was ok.
Naturally,I thought she was hurt but,then,she opened her eyes turns out that she was just resting.

"Hey,(Y/n)!Which honour do I have?(Y/n) or...Mrs.(L/n)?"she said and I giggled.
Anna knew the answer and sat up happily.

"(Y/n)?!Does that mean everything is fine?"she asked and I nodded.
"But,of course!Don't think about that now.What I want to know is what the heck happened here a while ago?Are you ok?"I asked and Anna looked down.

"I saw the black shadows tightening a circle around me and it seems thy were assuming some sort of a human form,"Anna said

"I saw that too!The black shadows formed into a Shadow Knight,"I said and she groaned.
"Did you hear anyone talking to you?"I asked.

"No,actually,I was completedly disoriented,"Anna said,shaking her head.
"I think he said something like...you're the one.I am not sure,"I said,mentally cursing myself for not paying attention at the last part.
"That can't be right,"Anna said,frowning.

"We'll find out what is going on but,now,we have to make you get up,"I said and Anna smiled.
"I am ok,(n/n).Just give me a stamina potion and I will rise immediately,"Anna said,looking quite exhausted.
I did as I was say.

I helped her stood up and she removed the dusts from her clothes.
"Thanks,(Y/n)!Now,I am as good as new,"Anna said,cheerfully as usual but,a bit strangely.
"You sure?You're a bit too cheerful for someone who was addressed by the Shadow Knight,"I asked.

"Why not?You saved my life!"she said and I felt something was not right.
"You know what?Let's get out of the game and get some rest,"I said and she nodded.
"Sure!I miss my pillow right now,"she said as we both logged out of the game.

Something was off.
Anna seemed satisfied with everything she accomplished and I was confused.
And my faithful instincts was telling me that we are very close to the final fight.

And Anna doesn't seem to be worried at all.
That doesn't look like her at all.
