Your pov,

I woke up later than usual so,I had to leave the house as soon as possible so,I wouldn't be late for school.I left my rook with a bag full of books,checking my phone.

I called Jack last night for a few times but,he didn't answer so,I just let it go.
Jack didn't call me back.

I went down and ate breakfast with mom as we had a nice peaceful chat.Just then,I realized I left a few books I need so,I went to my room to get them.

When I came back,I was surprised to see my mom talking to someone on my phone.

"In that case,both of you are invited.We'd love to meet her,"mom said,smiling.

Both?

"Well then,it's a deal,Jack.See you soon,"mom said as she hung up,smiling.

I smiled as I walked up to her.
"What did I miss?"I asked as she gave me back my phone.
"Oh,it was Jack.He called and I invited him over for the dinner.No need to call him back,"mom said as she smiled happily.

I smiled.
"You are too excited,mom,I have to go.I would be really late if I don't go now,"I said as I started heading for the door.

"Have a good day,(Y/n).I am gonna take a day off and go to the shop for tonight,"mom said and I giggled.

"Ok,mkm,"I said as I left the house and started rushing to school.

Later that day,

I decided to jead back to home as soon as possible to help mom for dinner.I texted Anna and Kristoff,telling them to come over for dinner if they are free and they agreed.

Jack decided to walk me back home and he was awfully in a good mood unlike me.
"Snowflake,you're awfully quiet today.Is everything ok?If there is something bothering you,tell me,"he said,breaking the silence as he smiled gently and looked at me.

I smiled at him.
I really want to talk to him about a lot of things but,now is not just the right time.

"I have many things I want to talk to you.I will tell you later tonight,"I said and he sighed as he smiled.
"You know...we can always have a straight talk.No need to hold back,"Jack said as he grabbed my hand.

I smiled at him.
"I know.That's why I can't wait to talk to you about it tonight.Anna and Kristoff will be there too,"I said and he frowned.

"You're leaving me hanging just like that?"he said and boy,he was really cute right now.
I let out a small chuckle.
"I thought of telling you last night but,you didn't pick up so...if you are that curious,just wait and see,"I said as I smiled and playfully poked his cheek.

He pouted.
"I regret leaving my phone when I go out now.Sorry,baby,"Jack said as he warpped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him,causing me to blush as we continued to walk in silence.

Soon,we reached our home.
Before I could say anything,Jack quickly gave me a quick kiss and looked at me in the eyes.
"See you tonight,snowflake,"Jack said and I smiled as I kissed his cheek.
"See you"

After a while,mom and I started making for dinner.As I set the table,mom wasn't really sastified with the fact that I didn't know their favourite foods.

She feared that they wouldn't like her dishes and won't eat.I told her it was ok but,she was still nervous.

Staying hungry was the least of my concerns.
"Have you finished,(Y/n)?"mom asked.
"Almost,mom,"I said,smiling.

"Hurry up with the table,will you?Your friends are about to arrive,"mom said and I giggled.
"It's fascinating that you are more excited and happier than I am,mom,"I said and she smiled.

"Of course,I am happy!In times of social network and virtual reality,people are forgetting to talk one another in person,"she said and I shook my head smiling.

The same thing again.
Just then,thr doorbell rang and interrupted my mom.
"That's probably one of your friends,"mom said.

"Oh,they are already here.I will get the door.
That's probably Anna and Kristoff,"I said as I headed to the door.
"Anna lives the closest to us and that's probably why she and her friend are the first to arrive,"mom said as I smiled and checked if my dress was ok.

I opened the door and I was suprised to see Jack holding a huge bouquet of flowers which was almost completedly hiding him.

"Hi,(Y/n)!You look amzing,"Jack said and I blushed as I smiled at him.
"Hey Jack,come on in.You are right on time!"I said as I got out of the way to let him in.

However,Jack was just standing there,
looking all nervous.
"Aren't you gonna come in?Did you change your mind?"I teased and he smiled.
"Actually no..."Jack said,smiling as he scratched the back of his neck.

Just then,a very cute little brown hair girl popped up from behind him.
"Ahem,"she said as she stood behind Jack,waiting for him to introduce her.
"Emma,come here,"Jack said and the little girl came in.

"Took you long enough,something must have distracted you,"she said and I immediately noticed who it was.
And she was damn adorable in real life and my eyes sparkled up at her cuteness.

"(Y/n),meet my sister,Emma,"Jack said and I smiled at her.
"Hello,Emma.Nice to meet you.Let's get know to each other better from now on,"I said and she smiled sweetly.

"Me too!Although I already know so much about you,"Emma said.
"Really?Did Jack tell you about me?"I said and Jack blushed a bit.
"I did...and she was very excited to meet my friends,"Jack said as I let both of them came in.

I then,hugged Emma tightly unable to resist her cuteness.
"You're so adorable!"I said.
"Hey!"Emma said,blushing while Jack laughed.

Just then,Anna and Kristoff came in.
"Hey (n/n)!I brought you something you like~"Anna said as Kristoff closed the door.

My eyes sparkled up when I saw chocolate candies in her hand.
"Chocolate!"I said and Jack laughed.

their tracks when they saw Emma in my arms while Jack was beside me.

"Hey guys.Meet my little sister,Emma,"Jack introduced them.
"Hey,"Emma said,waving at them.
"Awww...she is so cute!Nice to meet you,Emma!"Anna said,fangirling like I was.

"Wait...Emma?You are that Emma?!"Kristoff said,shocked.
It is surprising to see a little girl like her was playing Shadowtime too and she is really adorable!

"Yep,surprised?"Emma said,giggling.
Just then,mom walked up to us.
"Have a seat,guys,dinner is ready.I am so glad that you are here and (Y/n),let go of Jack's little sister,will you?"mom said and I pouted as I let go of Emma.

Jack laughed at my actions.
"Thanks,Mrs.(L/n),we are honored to be here,"Jack said,smiling.
"Nice to meet you,Mrs(L/n),I am Kristoff.
Thank you for inviting me here too,"Krisoff said,bowing at my mother a bit who smiled at his manners.

"Thank you for inviting us,Mrs.(L/n),"Anna said,smiling happily.
Mom smiled at them.
"It's my pleasure.Please have a seat,"mom said as she went into the kitchen to get the food while we sat down in silence,smiling at one another.

"This is weird.Why are you all so quiet?"Emma said,smiling.
I smiled at her as I put ny hands on the table.
"Then,tell us about you,Emma.I'd love to know more about you,"I said and Jack looked at me with a bored look.

"It's your fault,snowflake.Dinner will get cold with Emma showing off just like you,"Jack said and I smiled.
"I don't mind,I'd love to know more about Emma,"I said,smiling.
"Yea,we'd love to find out more about you,Emma,"Anna said.

"Sure,who wouldn't love to talk about theirself?Since you're expecting me to show off,I guess it's safe to say I am often better than Jack at video games,"Emma said.

"Haha,I knew it!I knew you were somehow related to Jack.Is there something you would like to say to us,Jack?"Anna said and Jack looked surprised.

"Wait,how did you know?I never told you guys about Emma,"Jack said.
"Well..."I said and Anna explained about how she was able to trace Emma's ID and knew that they were playing from the same place.

Jack pouted and just said stalker to Anna.

Just then,mom came back with the food and a happy smile.
"Here you go,kids.Dinner is ready,"she said and Emma smiled happily.

"Thanks,Mrs.(L/n).This is my favourite meal!"she said and it was so adorable.
"Excellent!What about the others?
They look so serious,"mom said,raising a brow.

"We were just talking about Shadowtime,mom,"I said and she frowned.
"Again?!I wish I knew why you kids are drawn to virtual reality,"mom said.

"Cuz,it's awesome!It gives anyone an opportunity to become whoever we want and whatever we want to be,"I explained.

"And what do your friends think about it?"mom asked.
"I find it to be really fun,just like other games.But,for some other people,"Emma started.

"For some other people,it's more than a game.That can be dangerous!"mom said,frowning.
Oh no.
Kristoff was about to say something but,Emma beat him.
"Yes,it can.Especially when you develop certain feelings for people from the virtual world,"Emma said,looking at me and Jack noticed that.

Knowing what Emma was up to,he tried to stop her before she said anything that would put me in a difficult situtation.
"Emma probably wants to say that by playing the game,we make new friends and close friendships,"he said and we all nodded,smiling except from mom.

"I meant to say that there's more than friendship,"Emma said and I giggled,knowing what she meant.
"Oh,Emma.It is normal that Jack wants to protect a cute little sister like you ,"I said.

I noticed mom looking at me with a disapproving look but,I am not in the mood to feel insecure.I tried my best to hide it.
I clenched my fist under the table,trying to calm down.

Just then,Jack held my hand tightly from under the table,making me feel safe.
"(Y/n)"
I wasn't clenching my fist anymore and I let him hold my hand.I smiled.
He is supporting me.

"You two have nothing to add?"Kristoff said and Anna nudged him from under the table,making him know the situtation.

"Why wpuld (Y/n) and I have to tlak about that?"Jack said,smiling cascually.
"I'd  say this is about you and (Y/n),"mom said,raising a brow.

"We're a team and we do everything together,mom.We go to school together.Hang out after school,play Shadowtime and...that's about it,"I said and Jack frowned a bit.

He let go of my hand and I looked at him with a questioning look.I realized what was going on and I immediately feel horrible.

My words meant there is nothing goinging on between us but,that was not what I want to say.
I have to talk to Jack without Emma so,we can clear things out.

Just then...
"It's late.We should go,"Emma said.
"Yea,we should go,"Jack said and I frowned.
"Aren't you gonna stay for dessert?"I said and Jack smiled at me.
"Some other time,"he said.
But,behind that smile was a sad and hurt look.I feel terrible right now.

"We should go too,thanks for the meal,
Mrs.(L/n),"Anna said and Kristoff nodded as they got up.
"Anytime.I hope you enjoy the dinner,(Y/n) see them out,"mom said and I nodded as I walked my friends to the door.

None of us were in the mood to chat except from Emma.
"Dinner was great.We should do this again,"Emma said.
"Yea,when you only get invited again,"Jack said,looking disturbed.

I have to talk to him.
"We'll see.Well,gotta go.See you tomorrow,(n/n),"Anna said and I nodded as Kristoff waved.
Jack kissed my forehead and smiled at me.
"See ya,snnowflake,"he said and left.
I looked down,really feeling terrible.I wasn't ready to talk about our relationship to my mom just yet.

I headed to the kitchen and washed the dishes.I don't see mom anywhere.
Maybe she is already in bed?

I shrugged as I headed back to my room.
When I entered my room,I was greeted by a shocking sight in front of me.

Mom was lying kn my bed wih my VR goggles on.I gasped in horror.
Oh,no!
Mom,what are you doing?!

I checked the mornitor and saw my mom in my avatar at where I logged out last time.Dark shadowd covered the entire forest and I gasped.

(Your player name) was in mom's hands now and right now,mom is in danger!
Suddenly,the screen went black and mom's hands started shaking uncontrollably.

Then,her scream followed making me terrified.It was so piercing that I tripped on my own feet and fell down.
"Mom!"I yelled,worried.
What shoud I do?
If I unplugged the game,it will affect her nerves!

I ran out of my apartment and started running to Anna's place since there was only one option left and the quickest way to save mom right now.
