The door of the Shadow Knight's castle stood wide open,gaping like jaws.
Everything looked simple,way too simple.

Your pov,

This is really challanging yet exciting.
I am sensing like somebody is inviting us.
"Please come in,you will be safe in here"

We all looked at one another and nodded.
We took a deep breathe and made a first step into the big nothingness.

"You've unlocked the door of the castle that had been locked for legitimate reasons.
Now you have to finish what you started or die.What will you choose?"

This was all part of the psychological trick that Shadowtime was playing on us.
However,we are no ordinary players.
We are a team and we are playing as one.

The castle door closed with a loud bang behind us and the door was locked again.
There was no lock or other door mechanism on the inner side.

That fuels our desire to get this over with and once and for all,to end the time f black shadows' rule.
"Wanna look around?"I said in a whisper.
"Shhh...."Anna said and I mumbled sorry as we talked in a low voice.

"Let's look around but,watch your back.Anything can happen right now,"Kristoff said.
"You are scared?Well,you are not the only one,"Jack said,smiling.

"Guys,calm down.It's not like somebody's gonna pop up out of blue and kill us,"I said and Emma smiled at me.
"Whatever you say,(Y/n).I am holding a dagger in my hand,"she saud and I giggle as we started looking around.

Step by step,we were approaching the throne that had been standing there dusty and desolate for years.
I got chills down my spine when I laid  my eyes on the throne.I shruddered at the thought of Shadow Knight sitting there just for a few moments.

Just then,Jack stopped me as he tapped ny shoulder.
"Snowflake,stop.Move here,"he said as he gently moved me to his side.
"What?Something beside me?"I said,panicing.

"No,no,look,"Jack said as he pointed down at an old book lying behind the spot where I stood.
We all looked at it.
"Be careful,it could be a trao,"Kristoff said.
"It it was a trap,I could have noticed it,"Emma said.

Jack gently picked up the book which was just beside the throne of Shadow Knight and lightly dusted it off.

He browsed through the book.
"Scribbles,"Jack said as he narrowed his eyes.
"Wait.Hand me the book,let me take a good look at those scrribles,"I said and Jack held the book in front of me,so,I could see.
"See it for yourself,snowflake,"he said.

I smiled and took the book from him.I read the first few lines that was written in poor handwriting.The ink was splashed on some spots.
But,I could still see what all of it is about.
It's a diary!

"It's a diary,"I said and everyone gathered around me as we all tried to find out what was written inside.

"It's as if somebody wanted to ease up his pain,it says  I've felt angre.I've been betrayed by the person who was the cloest to me.I've been deceived,"I said,reading out so,everyone can hear what it was written.
"Go on..."Kristoff said.

A few lines are a bit hard to read.
"Hmm...the following few lines are intelligible,"I said.
"Let me try.It says At nights,at nights when the shadow rises,they give me hope.He said
I could rule forever.I could be an immortal,"Anna said.

"This us Shadow Knight's diary!"Jack said with wide eyes.
"It must have been written before he became one of the undead,"I said.
"We don't have time to go through all of this but,I am sure the answer lies in here,"Jack said.

"Here comes an interesting oart,"Emma said as she read the diary.
"The undead can't die.I don't want to die.But,my death leads to immortality.
Cleric's prayer"

"What clericis it about?Does it mention its name?"I asked,getting more curious.
"No,that part is blurry but,here is the text ofthe prayer,"Jack said as he pointed down at the prayer part.

We couldn't even know that if saying the prayers out loud would have something to do with death,let alone summon it.

We decided to try it.

Jack sat down on Shadow Knight's throne,holding the book in his hands and read the prayer aloud.

Almost at the same instant,the black shadows rose from the ground and stsrted shaping into Shadow Knight's silhouette.

Jack stood up preparing to defend himself.But,it was too late.
Shadow Knight vented all the rage that was teeming within him.He thrusted a sword into Jack's chest and turned around as he looked at me.

"NOOO!!!"I screamed as tears built up in my eyes.He is going to kill him!
Emma and Kristoff were holding me back,preventing me to do anything stupid or put my life in danger as I tried to run to Jack's side.

Then,I saw Jack opened his eyes and I heard him spoke in a very creepy voice.But,that wasn't Jack.

It was him...our biggest enemy,the Shadow Knight.He took Jack's body.

"You came here to end the time of shadows just like many before you.And just like them,you are about to join y army of the dead,"Shadow Knight said.

He was using Jack to communicate with us.
He wished us a nice trip into the certain death.
And then,all of a sudden,he pulled the sword out of Jack's chest and let his body fell to the ground.

My heart shattered into million pieces as tears streamed down my face.Looking at Jack being so lifeless like that,it makes me remember about the two of us and our last talk in the real world.

I remembered our last encounter.I remembered how he looked at me and I felt an even greater pain because he was no longer in the game.I don't even know if he is ok in the real world.
We couldn't avoid talking about virtual reality not even at uch a romantic place like that was.

Flashback,

"Are you excited that we are about to reach the end of the game soon,snowflake?"Jack asked,sleeping on my lap as we sat under a big tree.

"Of course,I am!I am gonna be sad when the game ends,"I said as I looked down at him,gently playing with his hair.

"Me too...but...you never know.Maybe an expansion will come out.Like a new world,"Jack said.

I thought about it for a while.
"That woud be great!"I said,smiling happily and Jack smiled.

I blushed,seeing him loking at me in a loving and thrilling manner like never before that.

His loving face expresion remained instilled in my memory together with the words that followed.
"You're so beautiful,(Y/n),"he said and kissed me out of blue,rocking my world.

And then,he came back to our talk of Shadowtime,leaving me blushing.
"You know,I've been thinking about something,"Jack said.
"Y-yes?"

"Shadow Knight is undead,"he said.
"Oh,you were thinking about the game,"I said,pouting and he laughed as he played with my hair.

"You are so cute when you pout like that,snowflake.But...think about it,it means someone made him undead and I wondered what would happen if we bring him back to life.Would he turn into a man again?"Jack said and I imagined about what he said.

"Could be.I've never thought about something like that before"

Back to reality,

The memory brusted like a bubble and I was brought back to the virtual reality world and heard Anna and Emma calling my name.
"(Y/n),pull yourself together!We gotta go and fight!"Emma said.

I took a deep breathe and nodded as I wiped my tears away.
"It's time for revenge,"I said,glaring at the Shadow Knight.
"The greatest ever!"Emma said,doing the same.

"He is gone and I got nothing else to lose now,"I said as I held my tears back,looking at Jack.

"Not everuthing is lost.You are forgetting the artifacts!"Emma said and my eyes widened.
She's right.
Who could have blamed me?I was upset and I was furious.

Even in spite of that,we still have a chance of winning.Shadow Knight was standing in front of his throne,numbly staring at us as if he was having a hard time deciding on his next victim.

We couldn't let that happen so,almost instantly,we began to attack him with everything we got.

But,then,I ran out of arrows.
Damn it!
"I am out of arrows!They don' hit him,they go through him!How are we supposed to kill him?"I said,warning the others.

"I wouldn't risk approaching him with only a dagger in my hand.We need some strong spells against him,"Emma said while Anna and Kristoff attacked the Shadow Knight from the other side.

I used all my Mana,arrows,potions and I wasted all the time.
Kristoff was successfully blocking Shadow Knight's attacks,giving,me,Anna and Emma to pull back and think about our next move.

"We need the artifacts.Do you have it?"Emma said,looking at Anna who nodded and took out the artifacts.

But,then,the Shadow Knight changed our target to us and attacked us.
"Girls,look out!"Kristoff yelled as we jumped out of the way just in time but,the artifacts fell to different places.

I picked up the artifact that fell near me.
It was the artifact that could bring the dead back to life.
That was our ticket to salvation.

Suddenly,everything became so simple.
I was no longer afraid that we'd lose the battle.
Not only that,I could also bring my boyfriend back to live.

Anna and Emma were attacking the Shadow Knight since Kristoff's healthw was its minimum.
"(Y/n)!Do something!"Emma yelled.

The fate of my conpanions were in my hands.I desprately want to bring Jack back to life.I gripped on the artifact tight.Then,I remembered Jack's words.

There is a way.

"Guys!I have a plan.Maybe there's a chance to bring him back to live and change him back into a human again!"I yelled.

"Then,he would no longer be a threat,"Kristoff said,holding his arm.
"Are you sure about this,(Y/n)?That means you have to choose between love and justice!"Emma said and my heart dropped at her words.
But,I have already made up my mind and I wasn't gonna change it.It's time to use the artifact.

I looked at the spot where my boyfriend died and said goodbye.A tear slipped off from my eyes.

We have to risk it.

I activated the artifact of Resurrection and threw it right in front of Shadow Knight.
While the artifact was rolling away,it was getting brighter and brighter which made Shadow Knight turned around.

He saw the artifac and stepped on it.
We gasped in fear.
"No!"I said,fearing that our plan might fail.

"Look!It's working,(Y/n)!The artifact is working!"Emma said as she ran up to me and held my arm.

"But,it looks broken,"I said,frowning.
"Doesn't matter.You activated it before you threw it!Look!"Emma said as she pointed me to the shining light under the Shadow Knight's foot.

The artifact was obviously damaged but,it didn't affect its powers.

We saw the hot air was refracting above the broken artifact much in the same way as it would if it had been above the flames.

The heat was spreading all around us and the air current was getting stronger.I prayed that I didn't make a mistake choosing to bring back Shadow Knight to live instead of my boyfriend.

Anna was by Kristoff's side while Emma and I held hands.Shadow Knight was rooted to the spot after I activated the artifact.

Beams of white lights,were surrounding him,lifting up in the air.None of us wanted to move.
We just silently observed what was going on in front of us.

But then,Shadow Knight's whole body started shining with bright light.It seemed that he was transforming into a human.

"Now's the right time.Let's finish him!"Emma said and I nodded.
"Let's finish him once and fall all!"I said and Amma smirked while Kistoff got up from the ground.

"I thought you'd never say that!"Anna said.
Just when we were about to attack,there was a blast that sent us flying back.

But,suddenly,I felt a rush of adrenaline and unusual strength.It hurts back,I feel active and better.
"It hurts,"I said as I got up.

"Hurts but,I feel a lot better,"Emma said,smirking.
"Worth it,"Kristoff said and we all looked at him to see that his health was back to its maximum.
We all were!

"The power of artifactaffected everyone in the room!"I said,happily.But,then,it hit me.
That means...he is...

I immediately ran to the spot where my boyfriend's body was,hoping that the artifact affected him as well.

Please work.
Please work.
Please make it work.

"Hey love...wake up.Please tell me you are ok,"I said with a cracking voice as I lightly shook Jack.
His head moved and he opened his eyes as he looked at me with tired eyes.He was exhausted but,alive!
He is alive!

I smiled happily as tears formed in my eyes again but,these were happy tears.
"(Y/n)?What...happened to me?Why is my health at its minimum?"Jack said as he looked at me confused.

I said nothing as i just smiled and hugged him so tight.
"You are alive!That's all what matters now,"I said and pulled away.

"Stay here.I have some unfinished bussiness to do,"I said as I got up again.
With great will and restored Mana,which means I can use the spells again,I rushed to reach my goal which was only one thing.

Kill Shadow Knight.

I started using the spells on Shadow Knight,one after another.Emma's agility and her rapids attacks helped me weakened our opponent.

I noticed one of the arrows I'd cast aside and jumped to reach it.I grabbed it and immediately drew the bow as I aimed for his heart.

I loosened the arrow and the arrow flee straight to the Shadow Knight.
It was a perfect hit!
A loud shriek echoed through the castle and died down.

And that means only one thing.We did it!
Shadow Knight is gone!The black shadows vanished like they didn't even exist.

        Shadow Knight has been defeated!
                          Congratulations!

"We did it!!!"I yelled,happily as Emma and I hugged each other happily.
"No,(Y/n),you did it!"Jack said as he got up and walked up to us.

I walked to his side and helped him up,supporting him.
"No,I wouldn't have done it without you guys,"I said and Jack smiled at me.
"Yay!I can't believe it.We are the first to finish the game!"Anna said,happily.
"We rock!"Kristoff said.
"We're the best!"Emma said,smiling happily.

You've survived all the challanges and stayed together until the end.

Player (Player name),come forward and claim the throne!

"What?!"I said,confused as I smiled.
The Shadow Knight was gone and the region of the black shadows ruling has ended.
I was proud of my companions and our preseverance.All of that earned us reward.

Jack nodded at me and I came closer to what used to be the Shadow Knight's throne.
My boyfriend was next to me,he was my protector and my friend.We were waiting for further more instructions,hand in hand.

But,instead of giving instructions,we heaed funfare of trumpets and the next moment,crowns appeared on our heads.

I could feel my heart pounding with excitement.I can't believe we made it to this very end.

Jack and I looked at each other as we smile.
I couldn' hear anything or see anything but,him.
I want to kiss him and hug him so desprately but,not here.Not in the virtual reality world.

We threw our crowns on the floor and we started running out of the Shadow's Knight castle hand in hand as we left the castle forever.

It was early in the morning when I finally left the world of the Shadowtime.Although I spent the whole night with Jack and my friends playing the game,I felt lonely.

I miss him.I want to see him so bad right now.It looks like he was too.I received a message from Jack.

Jack :Snowflake,I miss you so.I will be waiting for you in the park!Please don't make me waiting for you too long.

Without further more thinking,I ran out of my apartment,excited and thrilled to see him again.

Soon,I reached the park and as soon as Jack saw me,he came running to me.
He picked me up from my waist and spinned me around happily as we both laughed.

When he let me down and after I caught some breathe,he gently captured my lips and hugged me tightly and I feel like time has stopped.
"(Y/n),you came!I miss you so much.I was afraid that you won't be able to come right away,"Jack said as he rested his forehesd on mine.

I smiled at him.
"I miss you too.I wouldn't miss the world to see you,"I said and he smiled happily.
"Really?!You love me that much?"he said.

"I think that's clear enough,"I said,giggling as I lightly kissed his forehead.
"But...I don't know how I will cope with you leaving soon,"I said,frowning when I remembered him leaving.

"Maybe you can make me change my mind.Or...you can come with me,"Jack said and a slight hope appeared in .y my mind again.
"Then...this doesn't has to be the end?"I asked,smiling hopefully.

"No,snowflake.It's not the end,it's just the beginning for us,"Jack said as he gave me a quick kiss and that moment,I knew that he was just the one for me and that I'd be much happier if I simply enjoyed life,real life.

After all,is there any better feeling than when you lean your head and listen to the heart of the person you love?
