Six- Crushes and Choosing a Class Rep

Sami ran through the halls, her feet pounding against the floor. She had fallen a bit behind and was on her way back to class, meanwhile Kirishima was on his way to the bathroom. As Kirshima started walking up the stairs to go to the men's restroom, he spotted Sami coming down them before noticing one of her shoes was untied. Untied shoe plus running? Not a good combo, she was going to get hurt if she wasn't careful.... Just as he opened his mouth to warn her about the loose laces, she tripped over them, giving a shriek as she started to fall. Thinking quickly, Kirishima stepped in the way. He had to do something in order to keep her from getting hurt...

Sami squeezed her eyes shut the moment she started to fall, bracing for impact. But, it never came... "Glad I caught you." Sami's eyes snapped open to catch a pair of crimson orbs staring down at her with shark tooth grin... Her face erupted into a dark shade of red when she realized that Kirishima had caught her in a dipping motion, his arms securely around her to keep her from the rest of the gnarly fall. "You okay there, princess?" He asked as he helped her upright. Sami quickly nodded in response, unable to find the words and going dark red at the nickname. Kirishima grinned. "Good, I'm glad I was able to keep you from getting hurt... I saw your shoe was untied... I was about to tell you when you tripped and I couldn't just let you hurt yourself by falling down those stairs and... Wait, let me fix your shoe for you."

"Oh, no, no, I..." Before she could finish, he knelt down on one knee and started to tie her shoe for her.

"I want to help you, princess, even if it's just this once... I'd hate for you to trip again and not be able to catch you. I don't want you to get hurt... Someone..." His face went a little red. "Well, someone as beautiful.. A-and sweet as you doesn't deserve that." Kirishima replied as he tied her shoe before grinning up at her and standing to full height. "There you go, milday." Kirishima took her hand and kissed the back of it as he bowed in princely fashion, the blush on Sami's cheeks burning darker red. Handsome and a gentleman... How could someone be that perfect? He then surprised her by encasing both of her hands in his, an adorable look crossing his face just then. "I'll see you back at class, okay? Please stay safe while I'm away." Sami nodded in response and with a kiss to her hands and a wink, Kirishima let go of her hands and hurried on his way. Sami, still in a state of red in the face shock, managed to find her way back to class.

Narako, meanwhile, had been a little worried about Izuku and wondering where Sami was. She should have been there almost 30 minutes ago... The entire class except Bakugou was abuzz about how they each gave it their all because they were inspired by Izuku. Narako smiled. Not even a hero yet and Izuku was already doing what he dreamed of doing... Whether or not he knew it... The door slid open to reveal Sami walking in. Narako automatically went to her. "Where have you been? You should have been here half an hour a..." Narako stopped when she spotted a very red blush on her friend's face. Narako raised an eyebrow in question as Sami walked to her seat in a daze and sat down. "Oi, Strawberry Cheeks, what's going on? Why're you so red?" Narako asked as she sat down in her own seat. Sami snapped out of her daze and blushed a bit darker before looking at Narako and telling her what had happened. When she finished, Narako smirked, Sami's blush having calmed down back to her normal skin tone by the end.

"Your kids are going to be adorable." Narako teased. Sami's face erupted dark red again at her friend's statement.

"Narako!" Sami whined.

"I'm just sayin'." Narako gave a little shrug, her hands up in defense.

"I mean, do you think he likes me? Should I ask him out or is it too soon and I need to wait for him to ask me? I don't know how this all works since I've never been in love before and..."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down and take a breather." Narako interrupted Sami's rambling as she placed her hands over her friend's, making the girl take deep breaths to calm herself. "I would wait on telling him how you feel for now..." Narako advised, Sami nodding in agreement. "But, at some point, you will have to tell him." Just as she finished talking, Kirishima rejoined the class, walking over to the girls and starting a conversation with them. Despite having a blush on her face, Sami didn't bother hiding this time since it had calmed down to just a pink color instead of the usual burning red. She could easily say that it was makeup or something... The day couldn't have been better for Kirishima when he saw that Sami wasn't hiding anymore, and honestly couldn't help but grin when she smiled. She had the goregous smile he'd ever seen...

Narako noticed Bakugou getting up and going to leave out of the corner of her eye. Though her classmates, like Iida and Ojiro, tried to stop him, he just pushed past them. Her eyebrows furrowed before she got up, following him and running as fast as her legs would allow so she'd catch up to him. He'd been completely quiet since after his combat training against Izuku, and it wasn't like him. She needed to figure out what was wrong.... When she caught up to him, she stepped in front of him, making him stop and look down at her. "What the hell's going on with you?" She asked.

"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked in retaliation, some of his spunk coming back for a moment.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, don't try and play stupid with me... I'm talking about you being dead silent since combat training earlier. The whole quiet act isn't like you.. Hell, it never has been." She told him, crossing her arms over her chest. He seemed to be angry for a moment.

"Why the hell would it be?! I lost, and to make things worse, it was to Deku! I came first in the exams, but that's not enough! When I was watching that ice guy... I realized I couldn't beat him in a head to head fight!" Narako realized that Bakugou's pride had been broken when she saw his eyes start to water. She had never seen him this way... And she hated it... It was the exact opposite of his normal self.

"Katsuki..." Narako started to say, but Katsuki kept talking, not seeming to hear her say his name and frustration getting more and more evident as he covered his face with a hand and put his head back.

"Crap! I even agreed with what that girl said! Launching a large scale attack indoors was stupid!" He looked down again, punching the air downward to emphasize his frustration. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! I..." Narako had gotten close enough for her to grab his face, making him look up at her and cutting him short as she spoke up:

"Katsuki, stop!" With her sharp tone and stern sapphire eyes, a shocked look crossed Bakugou's face for a moment, the boy freezing in his tracks. He honestly should have expected this from the female... Once he seemed like he was calming down again, she spoke once more. "Just because you lost one battle, doesn't mean you've lost the war, all right?" She let go of his face and continued to talk. "So what if you lost? Take your mistakes and learn from them... Train harder than before, get stronger." She watched as he slowly turned back into the stoic faced boy she knew, the same angry, stubborn look returning to his eyes, much to her satisfaction. She'd rather he be the loud mouthed, foul tempered boy she grew up with than the broken young man she had seen just moments before. "You're the strongest person I know, but you're still human. Yeah, you're gonna screw up, there's gonna be times you loose, but it's better that the mistakes happen here at UA, than out there," She pointed toward outside the school gates, "while you're a pro... Out there, most mistakes come with a cost. Meanwhile, here... The mistakes help us learn ahead of time, before the lesson we have to learn from it becomes a hard one. You once told me, If you're going through hell, push through it. You will be a pro one day, Katsuki Bakugou, I know you will... Just like Izuku and I're going to be there by your side when that day comes." The only reply she got was a 'tch' before he started walking away. Least his fire's back... But I meant what I said, Katsuki. I will be there when the three of us become pros, and the villains who face us'll wish they'd never been born. Narako thought.

"Hey, loser." Katsuki had stopped with his back to her, his voice bringing her out of her thoughts. "I just want to say... Thanks... For not giving up on me and lighting a fire under my ass... But, if you tell anyone about this, I swear to God. I'll kill you..."

"Yeah, yeah, I know, death threats as usual... Besides, if it was reversed, you would've done the same thing for me." Narako told him before going back to class to collect her stuff, oblivious to the fact that Katsuki had turned around to watch her go. She had sounded worried about him, that tone had been used with Deku way too often over their childhood years... Hell, he knew she worried about him too, but he often resented that... He wasn't some weakling like Deku. But, honestly, she had never made him feel like he was weak...

While she walked home, her mind wandered to her mother. There were times in her early years where her mother would tell her stories about her days as a hero. Most of the time, over those years, things would go smoothly. But, on the occasional days when things didn't exactly go as planned, she trained through any injuries she had obtained, even sometimes minutes after being healed by Recovery Girl, simply because she wanted to get stronger. "I won't lie to you, Narako, the past can hurt sometimes. But, honey, the way I choose to look at it, you can either run from it, or learn from it and continue to grow." At five years old at the time, Narako hadn't understood what those words had meant. But, ten years later, those words were practically the motto of her life: Learn from the past, live in the present, look toward the future. They were words of wisdom that she had held onto for years....

The next morning, Narako was startled to find that a huge group of news reporters had gathered around the school. She was met with cameras and microphones being thrusted into her face, suddenly understanding why Aizawa hated the media so much. God, they were annoying. "Miss, can you tell me what it's like to be working so closely with All Might?" One reporter asked. Narako grit her teeth, taking a deep breath to calm her temper before she could loose it.

"Please get the hell out of here, I'm running late for class. No one here has time for your bullcrap." Narako stated bluntly, turning her back on the reporter and walking away. Though, she nearly died laughing while Iida was going on and on about how great of a teacher All Might was to the reporters, who merely deadpanned at Iida's heartfelt rambling. Then, the same reporter who had cornered Narako made the mistake of trying to shove a microphone in Bakugou's face... Narako would have stepped in to help, but due to the reporter looking deflated and left Bakugou alone after the boy growled out a mere,

"Walk away..." Narako didn't get involved. However, the reporter didn't stop with Bakugou, making an attempt to get All Might out by trying to talk to Aizawa. Bad... move. Just when Narako was about to walk through the school gates, a male reporter approached her, getting a little too close for her comfort. She kept backing up until her back hit the wall of the gates and she had to press back against it. But, the male didn't quite take the hint that she wanted him out of her face as he continued to harass her with question after question about All Might.

At this point, she was just done with the media in general... So, using her shadow quirk, she scared the crap out of the reporter by making it look like black with purple outlined fire on her hands and getting in his face with her fist raised. "Get the hell away from me before I send you to hell, I've already said what I wanted to say and not a word more." She snarled. Her tatic worked and the reporter quickly ran off. With that finished, Narako walked through the gates, noticing Sami walking beside Kirishima and talking excitedly with him.

Whatever had happened the previous day between them, it seemed like Sami was getting more than comfortable with having Kirishima around, and Kirishima had the biggest grin on his face as he noticed this change. Narako smiled. She'd talk with Sami later on... For that moment, she decided to let her two pals, aka her top ship, have some time together on their own.

"Those two are pretty cute together, aren't they?" Mina asked, the pinkette stopping beside Narako to watch the two. Narako nodded her agreement.

"It's actually kind of funny how similar they are." Narako replied as the girls watched the two interact, Kirishima getting excitedly passionate about something and the girls able to hear a giggle coming out of Sami. Mina smiled.

"Speaking as someone who's grown up with him, Kirishima definitely deserves a win. He's got a good heart." Mina said, Narako nodding.

"All I know is, he better be good to her. Because I'll be the one kicking his ass if he doesn't." Narako replied.

"We both will." Mina promised, the two girls exchanging a fist bump before finally deciding it was time to join their friends. Not too long after Aizawa entered the gates, one of the reporters chased after him and set off the security system, heavy metal doors closing off the media from the school. No one noticed the two men standing across the street from the school, looking at the defense system.

"They've got a pretty good defense system, boss... You sure you want to do this?" The man in all black spoke, sporting a leather jacket and combat boots with a pair of dark jeans and a black T-shirt that showed off the muscle he had.

"Those gates are nothing, Aragami. I can easily get through them..." The other's voice was rather raspy, despite the man being younger than his companion at 20 years of age, with small irised crimson eyes and light blue hair.

"Decent work on yesterday's combat training, you guys. I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results. Bakugou, you're talented, so don't sulk like a child about your loss, okay?" Aizawa asked of Bakugou. A 'tch' came out along with,

"Yeah, whatever."

"And Midoriya." Izuku instantly went stiff as a board when his name was called. "I see that the only way you won the match was by messing up your arm again..." Izuku looked down at his desk, obviously preparing for a lecture. "Work harder and don't give me the excuse that you have control over your quirk. That line's already gotten old. You can't keep breaking your body while training here... But, your quirk will be really useful if you can get a handle on it. So, show a little urgency, huh?" He asked.

"Right!" Izuku replied.

"Let's get down to business. Our first task... will decide your future." For a minute, things got intense in the classroom, most people anticipating him announcing another quirk assessment test. However.... "You'll need to pick a class representative." As soon as those words left his mouth, everyone visibly relaxed a bit. Kirishima instantly jumped up, both hands in the air in enthusiasm.

"Pick me, guys! I want to be Class Rep!" Kirishima exclaimed.

"I'll take it!" Kaminari spoke as he raised his hand as well.

"Yeah... You're gonna need me." Jirou also raised her hand. Narako exchanged an annoyed glance with Iida as the students overlapped each other with talking.... Again. Narako got on her desk and whistled as loud as her lungs would allow.

"Everybody, shut up for a second!" Narako shouted over them so they'd hear her.

"The Class Representative duty is to lead others... That's not something just anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore..."

"The most rational way to sort this out is by casting votes. The one most votes will be the Class Rep." Narako finished before Iida could as she jumped down from the desk and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Is this really the best idea?" Kaminari asked.

"You got a better plan, Static?" Narako asked him in counter, Kaminari deadpanning at the nickname and Bakugou turning his head to hide the fact that he was sniggering.

"We've only known each other a few days, how do we know who we can trust?" Asui asked. Okay, Narako had to admit that she had a pretty valid point...

"Besides, everyone'll just vote for themselves..." Kirishima added on.

"Some people will... But that means that whoever does receive multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job." Iida pointed out. He turned to Aizawa, who was in his sleeping bag again. "It's the best way, right, sir?"

"Do what you want, just decide before my nap's over." Aizawa said before leaning back and hitting the ground, asleep instantly. Narako wished she could fall asleep that quick...

"Thank you for your trust!" Iida told him. A few minutes later, the votes were counted and the results were put up on the chalkboard, Midoriya recieving the most with Yayorozu in second place.

"Who voted for him?!" Bakugou shouted, obviously pissed. Narako rolled her eyes.

"What, did you honestly think anyone was gonna vote for you?" Sero asked him, pissing off Bakugou.

"Hey, at least he had 2 votes, unlike you." Narako interjected before Bakugou's temper could flare, which resulted in Sero blinking at her in shock and Bakugou smirking. Meanwhile, Iida had his head hanging and his fists clentched.

"Zero votes... I feared this might happen, but I can't argue with the system I chose!" He murmured.

"So, you voted for someone else, huh?" Yayorozu asked.

"But, you knew it was best to vote for yourself, right? What were you trying to prove here, Iida?" Sato asked. When Narako turned her gaze to the front, she saw that poor Midoriya was shaking. She grimmaced a bit. She had forgotten that Izuku hated being the center of attention a big majority of the time.

"All right, the Class Rep is Midoriya, and your deputy is Yayorozu." Aizawa told the class.

"R-really? It's not a mistake?" Midoriya asked. Yayorozu sighed.

"How'd this happen?" She asked herself.

"This might not be so bad." Asui commented.

"Yeah, I can get behind Midoriya, I guess." Kirishima added.

"Yayorozu was totally on top of it when it came to our training results." Kaminari put in. Later on, during lunch, Narako was sitting with Mina, Kirishima, and Sami as they ate. Mina, Kirishima and Sami were locked in conversation, laughing and having a good time while Narako just listened. Her mind wandered to her mom, though. Would her Mom even be proud of what she's accomplished so far? Yeah, she got into U.A. out of hundreds of students... But, even though it was only 3 days into the school year, she couldn't control all of her powers and still didn't know what power her Dad's side of the family held... Hell, she didn't even know who her Dad even was, or if he was even alive. A hand over hers brought her out of her thoughts. When she looked up, Sami looked worried about her.

"You okay?" She asked. Narako nodded.

"Yeah, sorry, I got lost in thought for a second." Narako answered, waving off her friend's concern as she continued to eat. Sami's brow furrowed a bit in worry. Sure, she hadn't known Narako for too long, but it didn't stop Sami from worrying about her... Meanwhile, Bakugou had seen what was going on and walked over. He grabbed her wrist, getting her attention. "Bakugou, what the hell..."

"We need to talk. Now." He interrupted her before pulling her up out of her chair and making her follow him. Kirishima got up and started to say something, but Sami's hand over his caught his attention and stopped him from saying anything.

"Let him handle it... He looks just as worried, if not more, about Narako... Despite the angry, stoic look on his face 99 percent of the time." Sami told him as he sat back down in his seat next to her.

"Do you think he'll be able to figure out what's going on?" Kirishima asked.

"I hope so. While we haven't known Narako for very long, Bakugou seems like he's known her for a long time... He definitely acts like he knows what to do." Sami answered.

"Yeah, but isn't angry how Bakugou normally is?" Mina asked. Meanwhile, Bakugou had pulled Narako into the hall. Once they were far enough away from the doors, he let go of her wrist.

"What the hell is going on, Narako? First there was that speech you gave me yesterday after I lost to Deku, now you started staring off into space again... Something's wrong, Narako, and I swear to God, you better tell me..."

"Or what? And since when have you ever worried about me?" Narako interrupted. "You know I can take perfect care of myself..."

"Really? How about those bags under your eyes, huh?" Bakugou snapped. "Those don't come from a good night's rest, I hate to break it to you, sweetheart." Granted, the nickname was said sarcastically, but Narako turned her gaze away from him to hide a blush. "Hey, you look at me right now." He made her look at him again. "Narako, I know you have nightmares, but nine times out of ten, you're not up late because of bad dreams... You're either out working late or training yourself dead... You overwork yourself all the goddamn time, you've always been that way, and don't try to lie to me.... Hell, you've never been able to lie to me, I've seen right through you every damn time. You need sleep, to start taking better care of yourself, you're going to get sick you keep this up. You can't keep pulling shit like this." Bakugou told her. But, before he could say more, a bell started ringing.

"Warning, level 3 security breach! All students please evacuate the building in an orderly fashion." A voice spoke over the loud speaker. Narako and Bakugou exchanged a look.

"That can't be good..." Narako trailed off.

"Were you expecting it to be?" Bakugou sarcastically asked her as they ran back to find their friends, only to be caught in the chaos of in panic students rushing out of the cafeteria and cramming the halls. Narako was getting elbowed, shoved and stepped on in the madness and almost fell over if it hadn't been for Bakugou grabbing her in time. He wrapped his arm around her to protect her from the other students, taking a couple hits while shielding her. "Try to push through to find Sami, I'll keep you from getting hit." He told her, nodding towards the back of the crowd. She nodded and they made their way through, finding Kirishima and Sami after not too long. Kirishima was shielding Sami from getting hurt with his body, but it didn't look like he was using his quirk. Avoiding unnecessary damage, Kirishima... Smart. Narako thought before noticing Iida not too far away. He was looking out the window before an unreadable look crossed his face. Narako turned her attention to out the window and blinked when she saw that the intruders were just the media from this morning.

"Narako?" Sami asked.

"The intruders aren't villains... It's the press from this morning... But how the hell did they get in?" Narako asked.

"We can figure that out later, right now the problem at hand is getting the word spread..." Sami trailed off. Narako looked over at Iida to find him looking at a doorway not too far ahead.

"I think Iida has a plan." Narako told Sami, making the girl look at their blue haired classmate just as the male had Ururaka use her quirk to levitate him above the other students, causing quite a few of them to look up. Iida then rolled up his pant legs past his calves.

"Engine boost, go!" Iida shouted as he shot forward toward the exit sign, starting to roll a bit. Narako took action and used her shadow tendrils to steady him so he'd be upright as Iida rocketed toward the wall above the exit sign. Narako let him go just as he hit it and held onto a pipe above him for balance. "Listen up! Everything is okay!" Everyone instantly went quiet as they listened to Iida. "It's just the media outside! There's absolutely nothing to worry about! Everything's fine! We're U.A. students, we need to remain calm and prove that we are the best of the best!" Iida shouted to everyone, his words taking immediate effect in calming everyone down. Narako smiled. In that exact moment, the police arrived and got the media off the property. After a while, things had calmed down and it was back to classes.

"It's time, Class Rep... Let's begin." Yayorozu told Izuku, who still looked shaken up to be Class Rep.

"Um... Well, we need to figure out who the other class officers will be, but first... Iida will be our Class Rep, not me." Izuku spoke up. "He was able to get everyone's attention and get us in line." He looked up, looking a little more confident. "So I believe that he should be the one leading our class from now on."

"Even if the motion to get there wasn't all that graceful." Narkao teased Iida.

"I owe you partly for your help in that, Matsuko." Iida told her. Narako gave a wink.

"You would have helped me too if the roles were reversed." She pointed out.

"Yeah, you know what? If Midoriya vouches for him, I'm good." Kirishima spoke up. "Plus, he was a big help... He totally manned up and took charge, right?"

"Yep. Oh," Kaminari chuckled, "Did you notice he looked like the dude on the emergency exit signs when he was on the wall earlier?"

"This is a waste of time." Aizawa suddenly spoke up, startling Midoriya. "I don't care who the rep is, just hurry up." Aizawa told them before laying back down. Iida stood up.

"If Midoriya is nominating me for this job, then I humbly accept. I pledge to carry out the duties of Class Rep to the best of my abilities." Iida promised. Kirishima gave a thumbs up.

"Sounds good, Emergency Exit." He replied.

"Emergency Exit Iida... Don't let us down, man." Kaminari put in.

As Narako left the school, she noticed the parts of the gate the press broke through were either rusted, turned to rubble, or turned to dust... Which, she in turn told Aizawa about. "It didn't seem like the normal break to me... It was almost as if..." She stopped herself, looking away.

"As if what?" He asked.

"As if the damage done to the gates was done by, dare I say it, some kind of decaying quirk. This is one of the times where I hope I'm wrong, but whoever helped the media break in... I don't think they're done... In fact, I think they're just getting started... I just wish I knew what that plan is." Aizawa nodded.

"That's what Principal Nezu concluded as well." Aizawa told her. "It's no surprise that you were able to figure that out, considering your mother was able to do the same within an instant." Narako looked up.

"You knew my Mom?" She asked. Aizawa nodded.

"Everybody did... All Might, Endeavour, Present Mic, Midnight, Siren and myself were all in the same class together." Aizawa explained before looking at her. "You're a lot like her, you know..." He trailed off, remembering Zakaida's laid back but sometimes mothering nature, her excitement in combat and rescue training and her big heart...

"Good thing I'm striving to be just like her then." Narako pointed out before leaving the campus entirely. While a lot of things were on her mind at the moment, none of them mattered except for one: Training to be like her mother.... To be the hero her Mom once was, to be the hero she would have wanted her to be....

To be the hero Siren could be proud of having for a daughter...
