It's been some years now since I found and healed alpha, and formed shadow garden. While I still trained and practiced my skills. Me and alpha found eight more females who were afflicted by the curse, and after healing them, they immediately joined shadow garden. Currently I'm thirteen years old, and my friend claire who is now fifteen, is about to go to midgar royal spellsword academy.

*the river near the kagenō estate*

Me, claire, one of her maid's, and my bodyguard came to the river.

While claire is preparing to leave for the academy. That doesn't mean me and she can't still sword practice together.

Claire: *smile, got into stance* Ready for another round n/n.

Y/n: *smiles, got into stance* Ready cee-cee.

The two friends went at full speed, and as soon their swords clashed an explosion occur.

While the dust around was still large, claire went for a speed strike, but I quickly dodged her attack and speed to her left side to strike. But claire quickly blocked my attack, though she still got pushed back a bit from the force of my attack.

Claire *smirks in excitement* You've been training well for the past years, haven't you n/n.

Y/n: *smirks back* Well, I can't lose to my rival and friend, can't I cee-cee.

Claire: *smirks* Indeed. Now try this!!! *disappears instantly*

I was surprised a bit, but sensing her magic I was able to block her attack in front of me. After that me and claire then unleashed a barrage of sword attacks and blocking each other's attacks at the same time.

Me and claire were smirking in excitement with each strike of our swords.

While still barraging, I took notice of an opening. So I pushed my attacks on claire, and disappeared in an instant to catch her off guard.

With a burst of speed, I went for a strike. Claire was able to sense my coming attack, and moved her blade to intercept my attack, and the sudden impact between our swords caused a giant dust cloud.

No one can see through the dust, but when it started to die down, me and claire had each other's swords aimed an inch close to our necks.

Claire: *smiles, and puts away her sword* It seems that this is a draw, how many wins do we currently have n/n.

Y/n: *smiles back and put his sword away as well* Twenty wins for you and twenty for me, but *smirks a bit in excitement* I plan to make twenty one when I get to the academy.

Claire: *smirks back* I'll be waiting for you on that n/n. *started blushing and twiddling fingers* Hey y/n, there's something I've been meaning to tell you.

Y/n: What is it claire?

Claire: *blushing* Y/n...I've been meaning to tell you. But I. *deep breath* Y/n for the longest time I-

Claire's maid: Miss claire. We must return soon, your mother wants you to put your stuff in order for your farewell party for tomorrow.

Claire: *internally screaming* *sighs a bit* I understand. *turns to y/n* Sorry y/n, I have to go. But make sure to get into the academy. I want to tell you something important, but only when you get into the academy.

With that, claire and her maid went back home. While I dusted myself off a bit and decided to head home as well.

???: I have to admit boss, if you and claire kept at it. I was close to joining the sword spare as well.

I turned to my bodyguard. My bodyguard is a tall tanned woman who has rippling muscles that even the suit she is wearing makes her muscles and scars more outline and a bit noticeable. But her more defining features on her is that she has tiger-like ears and tail, her pale silver hair is very thick and scruffy, and wears an eyepatch on her left eye. She gives the vibe of a delinquent boss.

This is ghislaine. She's a tiger beastman. My bodyguard, and one of my eight shades of shadow garden.

I should probably explain that part. After me and alpha established shadow garden, we went to work on helping, healing, and recruiting members for shadow garden. The first eight members are referred to as shades. Seven of the shades were afflicted by the curse, however ghislaine was a different story.

One day, when I went out to find more intel and information about the cult, I came across some bandits who were fighting with ghislaine who was a kid at the time.

After dealing with the bandits, I took notice of adults who were already dead near ghislaine. I could tell they were her parents. After a proper burial, and healing. Ghislaine asked if she could tag along with me, I was surprised a bit, but I let her come along and after some time she joined shadow garden.

The reason for her adult appearance is because I read some books saying that only a few beastmans can gain an exponential growth spurt in body and mind.

Y/n: *chuckles a bit* I wouldn't doubt that. How has your sword and strength training been going?

Ghislaine: *smiles* They've been going well, boss. Delta has been constantly challenging me any chance she gets when I'm training.

I learn beastman's like to fight, especially against fellow beastmans who have higher strength. So when ghislaine got her growth spurt, she became more stronger and led to one of the shades, delta to become ghislaine's rival.

Y/n: *closed eye smile* I can imagine. Also don't forget to camouflage your tail and ears ghislaine.

Ghislaine: *slightly pout* Hai hai, I just like it when I can be more loose, *slight lust smirk*boss~.

Ghislaine was already being possessive when I saved her and she joined shadow garden, but when she got her growth spurt. She's been wanting to be more expressive with her possessiveness of me. Which has caused the other shades to become more challenging when ghislaine is near me.

Y/n: *coughs a bit* *blushes a little* W-well let's get back to the house soon. I have to get claire's gift ready and I bet everyone is getting worried about us soon.

Ghislaine: *smiles* Sure thing boss.

With that me and ghislaine walked back to the house enjoying the scenery and ghislaine holding onto my right arm quite hard, but it didn't bother me, not much.

*next day*

After a good sleep, I got claire's gift ready, and I heard a knock at my door.

*knock,knock*

Y/n: *finished wrapping gift* You can come in.

Then appeared a young maid, who was around the same age as me. She has elf ears and a bobtail silver hairstyle with a left braid behind her right ear. She also wears glasses and has a mole underneath her right eye. This was beta, or bell as her maid name.

Y/n: *smiles* Hello beta.

Bell ( beta): *smiles lovingly* Good morning y/n-sama.

I should explain, you see, while I trained the shades and taught them knowledge from my world, I wanted them to have good relations with good people. So with a little talking, I got my parents to take in the shades as maids, or in the case of delta, and ghislaine. Bodyguards.

Y/n: Is there something you need beta? I finished up claire's gift.

Bell (beta): *sad tone* That is why I'm here y/n-sama. Miss claire has been abducted from her home, and from what miss kagenō has told, there were signs of kidnapping involved.

I was extremely pissed!!! But I had to keep a calm mind, don't worry claire. I'm coming to get ya.

Y/n: I take it the other shades have pinpointed were the kidnappers took claire too.

Bell ( beta): Yes y/n-sama. We also learn that the kidnappers belong to the cult.

After growing shadow garden a bit, and learning about the cult of diabolos. Shadow garden and I have been dealing with bandits and their organizations here and there. Especially the ones affiliated with the cult and have been gaining a good reputation on taking care of the bandits.

Y/n: *places claire gift somewhere* *kisses beta's cheek * Good work beta. I will need you and the seven shades to be ready for the rescue operation.

Beta: *atomic blush smile lovingly* Y-yes y/n-sama. But what about ghislaine?

Y/n: I'll have her find out how claire got kidnapped. I have a good hunch that it was an inside job.

Beta: As usual, you're one step ahead yn-sama. *noticing y/n's worrying* Don't worry y/n-sama, will get claire back.

Y/n: *appreciated smile* Thank you beta. *stern command* Now let's suit up.

*timeskip, near cult hideout*

After leaving a magic clone in my stead,getting into my cronan persona, and giving ghislaine her order. Me and the other shades got to the hideout of where the cult are keeping claire.

Cronan: *serious* All right, girls. *the shades look at him* Time to make an entrance. *proceeds to "knock" on the front door*

*3rd pov*

It's been a few hours since claire was kidnapped by her own guards. Currently she was in her pink nightgown and in some kind of cell with magic sealing chains on her.

Claire: *sighs mentally* 'I bet mother is losing her mind and getting everyone to search for me. I hope y/n is okay, but knowing him, he is trying to find me'.

While still in her thoughts, claire took notice of her cell door opening and then came in an adult male who was wearing an outfit that would fit a noble.

???: *serious* You know I had a daughter, I will not resort to such violent ways claire kagenō.

Claire: *emotionless stare* Who are you?

Grease: *serious* Since you're not leaving anytime soon. My name is grease. I used to be a former royal guard to midgar kingdom. *throws a kick at claire*

I effortlessly dodged grease's kick, all the while I still gave him the same look.

Grease: *serious* Impressive. You're able to dodge that while locked up in magic sealing chains.

Claire: *neutral tone* I was taught to master not just my magic abilities, but also my physical abilities the best I can do and how to use it.

Grease: *neutral tone* Then your father is a smart man.

Claire: *small smirks* That old baldy no, It was my best friend who taught me.

Grease: *curious tone* Your friend?

Claire: *small smirk* Indeed. When we fight it ends either way, but we both progress well. And I  learn from him and he learns from me. And with each spare, me and my best friend/rival become stronger with each sword clash.

Grease: *neutral tone* Your friend sounds like a strong warrior. Especially with his swordsmanship and magic skills as a dark knight. Another thing, I heard that this friend of yours was able to heal your demonic possession.

Claire: 'How does he know about that?' *Annoyed sigh* That crap again, while I might know everything, why is that important to you?

Grease: *sighs* Well it doesn't matter, after we're done with you, will make sure to pick up your friend for further investigation.

That made claire extremely angry enough to break her right arm chain to swing at grease, but he was able to dodge the attack.

Claire: *Extremely pissed* IF YOU TOUCH MY FRIEND OR HURT HIM IN ANYWAY, YOUR GOING TO ANSWER TO ME!!!

Claire broke her left wrist to get out of her other cuff.

Grease: *serious tone* You idiot. You mutilated your own hand.

Claire: *serious glare* I'll kill you! I'll kill your beloved family, your friends, anyone you ca-.

Right before claire could finish, grease gave a strong punch to her face.

Grease: *serious look* Stupid little bitch, no matter we'll know she's compatible by analyzing her blood.

BOOM, CRASH, BOOM

All of a sudden, grease felt an enormous earthquake going through the entire base.

Grease: *serious* 'What the hell is going on'!

Then a guard came in.

Guard: *worried* Master grease!

Grease: *serious* What the hell do you want?

Guard: *worried* Intruders, sir!

Grease: *surprised* What.

Guard: *worried* They appear to be seven of them and appeared out of nowhere like shadows sir, our men are dropping like flies! And we know who is leading the group sir.

Grease: *serious glare* Who is it?

Guard: *scared* It's cronan, sir.

When that name was heard, grease got an extreme chill on his back, he was told by the cult how dangerous this person was and immediately knew who the other intruders were. Shadow garden.

Grease immediately went to assist any remaining guards.

Grease: *serious* This is impossible! Even if it's shadow garden, some of our knights are good enough to be in the royal guard!

While still running, a lobed off head went past grease.

Grease: *noticed the head* How could this-. *gasp*

Grease then gasps at the sight of his dead knights sprawling the floor and the members of shadow garden in the middle of the bloody mess.

Grease: *serious, scared* So, this was your doing huh. Shadow garden.

Alpha: *stern* You know of us, it seems you cretins aren't tupid to an extent.

Beta: *stern* Our mission is to eradicate the cult of diabolos.

Gamma: *stern* We already know everything about your cult.

Epsilon: *stern* We know your goal is to revive the demon diabolos. The heroes descendants.

Alpha: *stern* Don't forget, the truth of demon possession.

Grease immediately got angry when shadow garden was talking about something that no one, but a few people should know about and immediately unsheathed his sword and went in for a lunge attack.

Grease: *serious* Did you say the cult of diabolos. How'd you find out! Where'd you hear that name! How'd you find out that secret!

Alpha immediately summoned a slime sword, and clashed sword with grease. While the two clashed swords, the other shades circled them in case of anything.

Grease: *serious* 'This girl is younger than me, but she is able to intercept and parry my sword attacks with ease'!

Grease was losing this battle, and in a single moment alpha slashed grease chest. Making him back away a bit.

Grease: *in pain* Aghk!?!?

Alpha: *stern* I'm not going to kill you, not before you tell us absolutely everything you know.

Grease was running out of options, until he brought out a small capsule of red pills. He then swallows one of the pills and a burst of power was unleashed from him, changing grease and his left eye glow red. He then immediately charged at alpha again.

Alpha: *eyes narrow a bit* 'This magic, it's not natural for a human being to possess'.

With one sideswipe from his sword, grease pushed alpha back, but alpha was not injured in any way.

Alpha: *stern* That was an interesting trick.

Annoyed that the attack didn't do anything even with the increased power, grease grew annoyed, and as a last effort he stabs his sword to the ground, which breaks apart and makes a hole for him to escape.

Beta: I'll go after him.

Alpha: *dissipates slime sword* No need, he's heading towards lord cronan. He already planned ahead on how this would play out especially when it comes to the leader of this operation.

Beta: *proud smile* Is that why lord cronan ordered us to deal with guards. Lord cronan is so brilliant!

*several minutes before grease escaped*

While cronan let the girls deal with guards, he went ahead to the lower levels to find claire and any useful information from this base. After using search magic, cronan found claire lying in a cage.

Claire was unconscious. But after cronan sliced the cell bars, he immediately checked on her. Claire had a bit of bruises on her face, and her left wrist showed signs of her hurting herself to break out of it.

Cronan: 'Your really cool claire'.

Cronan started healing claire with healing magic, and after healing her up, claire started to wake up and remember what happened.

Claire straightens herself up to see the bars are decimated.

Cronan: *humoring tone* It seems you had a good nap miss kagenō.

Claire looked to her right and was met with a teen who was almost the same height as her, and was wearing a mysterious cloak and a mask.

Claire: *slightly gasp* Your-.

Cronan: *chuckles a bit* I guess fame is like a wildfire, it's spread fast.

Cronan got up to his feet and pointed to the direction that will lead a way out.

Cronan: *neutral tone* As soon as you head straight, take a right and you'll see an exit. Your friend is looking for you.

Claire: *curious look* How do you know my friend, cronan?

Cronan: *small smile behind the mask* Your friend is a close friend to me, now you have to go soon this place won't exist after I'm done with it.

Claire immediately ran through the path cronan gave to her, while he found some research materials while going through a hallway.

Cronan: *puts away research materials in his coat* I'll give these to eta to look into.

While still walking, cronan got a message from alpha through communication magic about grease. Cronan also sensed an unusual magic signature and he could tell it was the leader of this place. Then a secret door opened up and revealed grease.

Grease: *sees cronan* Cronan? How the hell did you know I was coming this way. Hold on a sec! There's only one of you!

In a burst of speed, grease charged at cronan and went for a sword lunge;however, cronan anticipated that, and blocked the attack with a slime sword. The clash caused a bit of a shockwave and made the surrounding floor under them shattered a bit.

Cronan: *neutral tone* While your magic is at a higher level than one of my comrades, if you don't know how to wield that power. It's practically useless.

Cronan than broke out the sword lock, and did multiple slashes on grease and resulted in him getting more injuries.

Grease: *in more pain* Aggggghk!!!! 'I've never felt this overwhelmed in a battle before. Who are you cronan'?

After receiving many damages, grease dropped on one knee and panting.

Grease: *in pain, panting* I don't care how strong and powerful you are cronan. The darkness of this disgusting world is so much deeper than even you can imagine!

Cronan, even wearing a mask, stared into grease's eyes.

Cronan: *sympathetic tone* While I might know what you faced to make you what you are grease. I've met people who faced this darkness and it made them lose everything they hold dear. *dedicated tone* So no matter how long it takes, I will stop this darkness from harming others, even if I have to plunge into the abyss to do it.

Grease was taken aback by cronan's word, and the way he said it, made grease think of cronan as a full-fledge dark knight.

Grease: *pain chuckle* You have a noble heart cronan, but *pulls out capsule* I also have a goal to accomplish, and I'm not going to fail her!!!

Grease than swallows all of the red pills and his magic grew more and he changed into a humongous humanoid beast with his sword fused to his left hand.

Grease: *angry resolve* You have resolve cronan! But can this resolve beat this darkness that has infested this world!!!

Grease then went on to attack with a flury of slashes, none of them hits and with quick movements, cronan punch grease's mutated sword upwards.

Cronan: *calm tone* I know it is, and that's why I'll beat it to submission.

Cronan than summon his slime sword and unleashed a strong amount of magic to finish this battle.

Grease: *shocked* What is this? So much raw magical energy.

And with one strike, cronan slashed grease full strength that even the walls had marks on them.

Grease: *immense pain* GHAAAACK!!!!

The pain was so great, it made grease reverted back to his normal form and now was currently slowly dying from blood loss.

Grease: *slowly dying* So this....*coughs up blood* is how it ends. I couldn't save her. *coughs up more blood* I'm sorry my daughter. *sees cronan* Cronan, I know I caused harm, and appeared as nothing as a low life, but can you honor me one request.

Cronan: *curious tone* What is your request viscount grease.

Grease: *close to death* I have a daughter, her name is millia. She fell to possession. The cult promised to help her, but I should've known better, but if she *coughs up blood* if she can't be saved, can you give her a peaceful rest. It's all I ask of you.

Cronan could tell grease was a kind man, but he was pulled into all of this because of terrible circumstances.

Cronan: *knightly tone* Do not worry, I will uphold this request viscount grease.

Grease: *weakly smiles* Thank you...sir cronan.

With that, grease died from his blood loss and after a minute, cronan carefully picked up and carried grease's corpse and with his other hand, cronan formed a small magic star and threw into the ground. After that he immediately gave a communication command to all the shades to immediately flee the area and wait by the forest nearby. Cronan than teleported with teleportation magic.

*forest nearby*

All of the shades and cronan with grease's corpse were standing nearby the now deserted cult base.

Beta: Excuse my rudeness lord cronan, why did you ask us to leave the area. Aren't you worried that any cult member can find this base again.

Cronan: *chuckles a bit* You don't have to apologize beta, and the reason we had to leave is this. Three. Two. One. *points to base*

The entire base was decimated in a giant explosion, that all shade members were shocked and in awe by their lord's power.

Delta: *star-eyed* That was amazing, boss!!!!

Cronan: *chuckles* Thanks delta, now I want you all to return to the mansion and go by your daily routines as usual.

The shades nodded at their lord's command and in a swift of speed left for the mansion.

*Y/n's pov*

After the command and giving grease a proper grave. I immediately stand near the kagenō's house gate were my clone is at since claire was getting close to the clone, and made the clone dissipate. I also made sure to command my slime suit off and got ready for claire.

*3rd pov*

Claire was walking in the direction of her home, but she stopped a bit when she saw and heard the explosion cronan made. She was shocked from it, but decided to continue home, until she heard a familiar voice.

Y/n: CLAIRE!!!

Claire immediately saw y/n running towards her and immediately trapped her in a bear hug.

Claire: *surprise blush* Y/n!!!

Before asking more, claire could see y/n eyes teared up a bit knowing how worried he was for her.

Y/n: *trembled a bit* I was really worried for you, and I didn't want to lose you claire.

Claire: *smiles* Don't worry my rival, I'm alright. Just really tired, let's get back home.

Without a second thought, y/n dried of his tears and immediately turned around and crouched pointed at his back.

Y/n: *stern* Hop on my back claire. Your exhausted and I'm not taking a no for an answer.

Claire: *surprised* But y/n-*noticed his stern glare* *sighs a bit* Alright, but *smiles* I'll pay you back someway.

After picking up claire and giving her a back ride, the duo continue on to claire's home.

After getting to claire's house and gently dropping claire down, claire's parents came rushing to the duo.

Mona Kagenō: *smile, and tears in her eyes* Claire!, I'm so glad you're alright.

Mr. Kagenō: *smile* I'm glad you're safe as well my adorable daughter.

Immediately miss kagenō gave a hard punch to her husband and he immediately passed out, and everyone else just ignored it.

Mona: *surprised* Y/n, did you go out that long to find claire.

Y/n: *smiles* Yes, I care about claire and I would go far to find her and help her.

Claire's face became so red, it matched her eye color.

Mona: *giggles* Ara ara, claire found a really good friend to be with. 'I can't wait when the two have kids together'. *sighs a bit* I just wish we found anyone who was responsible for this kidnapping.

Gen(Ghislaine): Yo boss!

M/n: My adorable baby boy!

Y/n, claire, and her mother turned to see gen and y/n's mother carrying two beat-up guards.

Y/n: Hey gen. *confused* What are you doing here mom?

Mom: *smiles* Gen told me that she was trying to find the culprits to claire's kidnapping. And what kind of friend would I be if I can't help find my friend's daughter's kidnappers.

Mona: *appreciative smile* Thank you m/n.

Gen(ghislaine): These guards were paid to let the kidnappers get miss claire, and I heard them gloating on how much they got from the kidnapping.

Ghislaine then took a pouch that was on one of the slightly beaten up guards and revealed gold coins in it.

M/n: *ready to beat up smile* Now then *drops guard in front of mona alongside with gen dropping the other one*

M/n: *menacing aura, cracks knuckles* Gen, mona would you like to join in?

Mona: *smiles with menacing aura, cracks knuckle* Thank you for the invitation m/n.

Gen: *smiles, cracks knuckles* Thank you mistress l/n.

*y/n's pov*

While my mother, ghislaine, and claire's mother pummeled the guards, especially in their twigs and berries, I secretly used teleportation magic and brought claire's gift.

Y/n: *smiles, give gift* Here claire, I made this for your party and I think you'll enjoy it.

Claire was surprised by my sudden gift, but opened it up to reveal a long sword with a unique design and at the end of the handle, a flower-like charm is attached to the sword and the color of the charm is the same color as claire's eyes.

Y/n: *smiles* I made this sword to match up with you especially to handle conducting your magic better than a normal sword.

Claire gently placed the sword to her right side, and gave me a strong hug. I wasn't bothered by it and returned th hug as well.

Claire: *blushes* Thank you for the wonderful gift y/n, I'll make sure to treasure it forever.

Y/n: *smile and blushes a bit* It's no problem claire, you are an important person to me.

*small 3rd pov change*

While the two mothers and tiger bodyguard were pummeling the guards, the mothers took a moment to see the loving moment between their children.

M/n: *strangling one guard, smiles* My boy really knows how to get your daughter's heart, mona.

Mona: *repeatingly punching other guard's face, smiles* I can tell that claire is deeply in love with y/n. Ooo, I can't wait when I see my grandbabies!!!

Gen(ghislaine): *stomping on the first guard's place where they're men* 'Lady alpha wasn't joking when she said claire has a deep crush for the boss, but it'll be interesting when she joins the harem'.

*the next day, y/n's pov*

After a heartfelt goodbye, along with the sword I made for her, claire went to midgar academy. It's been boring since she left, and the only thing to keep my mind off from it was my studies or training. I was currently studying in my room.

M/n: *comes through the door* Y/n, honey. How have you been?

Y/n: *turns to m/n, and smiles* I've been well mom, *slightly frowns* I just miss claire.

M/n: *cheering up* I know you'll see her again when you go to the academy soon son, in the meantime I need you to go to the market to get me some things.

Y/n: *smiles* Sure thing, mother.

After getting the things my mother needed, I was about to walk out of the market, until I noticed two thugs messing with two girls.

Thug 1: *smirks* Come on kid, just give us some money and we will be on our way.

Thug 2: *smirks* Yeah, otherwise will mess with that young sister of yours.

???: *angry* Leave my little sister alone!!!

One of the girls looked slightly older than me by four years and has crimson red hair and eyes wearing a student uniform. While the other girl was the same age as me, but she has platinum hair and red eyes wearing a pink dress.

I decided to help the girls and walked to the thugs.

Y/n: I can give you guys some money if you want.

The thugs turned to me, while the girls watched in worry.

Thug 1: *smirks* Thanks kid. So where is the money?

Y/n: *smirks* Here's your money, *hard punch to the thug's gut*

The first thug was knocked out from the punch, the girls were shocked but awestruck on what they saw. And the second thug was angry.

Thug 2: *angry* Why you little bast-.

Before he could finish, I did a quick hard punch to his face knocking him out as well.

The girls were awestruck by what they saw, until the silver-haired girl had metaphorical stars in her eyes and got close to y/n.

Silver-haired girl: *excited smile* You were so cool!!!

Y/n: *smiles* Thank you. But it was nothing.

The crimson-haired girl got over her awestruck and walked towards the two.

Crimson-haired girl: *small smile* Alexia, a princess, shouldn't behave like that.

Alexia: *embarrassed blush* Sorry big sis iris.

When y/n heard the word princess, his eyes widened on who he was talking to.

Y/n: *surprised* You're the princesses of midgar. Princess iris and princess alexia.

The princess nodded at y/n's revelation and he immediately bowed to them.

Y/n: *apologetic* My apologies, your highnesses, I should've shown you more proper respects.
