My second birth

"Day hash ah do no way shoo do," I heard some girl sang. I looked about the darkness. No one there. I knew the song. It was the "Song of Rebirth".

I felt arms warp around me. I was being pulled upwards. Things began to become lighter and warmer.

"Be reborn, Shadow," the girl's voice said.

I was blinded by the sun light. I whimpered a bit. The girl held me tight.

"Can you open your eyes?" She asked. I blinked lots and squinted at her. I could barely make out her face.

"Who are you?" I asked the girl.

She smiled. "I'm Reeda. I brought you back because Link asked me to. I'm Link's big sister," the girl said.

"Really? Link wanted you to bring me back?" I asked.

Reeda nodded. Suddenly, Reeda laid me down and went to close the curtains. She lit a small candle.

"Is this lighting better?" She asked.

I nodded.

"Can you sit up? If not I'll help you," Reeda said.

I struggled to sit up. That's when I realized I was naked. I felt my face turn bright red.

"Umm... Can I have some clothes?" I asked after I managed to sit up. Reeda nodded. She helped me get dressed.

"Can you stand?" Reeda asked.

I tried, but fell. I tried again. I fell again.

"Here," Reeda said. She picked me up and carried me over to the door. I held tightly to her neck.

I didn't want to go into the sun. The sun frightened me. Reeda pressed my head against her shoulder.

"Please Reeda. I don't want to go in the sun. I'm scared of the sun," I whimpered.

"You won't vanish. I promise," she said hold me tight.

"Okay," I said with a small smile.

Reeda opened the door and walked out to find Link, Blue, Red, Vio and her Father. Link jumped to his feet.

"Father. Brothers. Shadow is back," Reeda said smiling.

Reeda set me down beside her. I wobbled a bit before clinging to Reeda's leg. I stared up at Reeda.

Reeda nodded. She bent down and helped me up off the floor. She carried me over and sat me in her Father's lap.

"I'll get your hammock ready for tonight," Reeda said smiling.

I reached for Reeda as she walked away and left the house. I felt safe in her arms. I didn't want her to leave.

"Well hi there. So you're Shadow, huh?" Reeda's Father asked me.

I nodded.

"Reeda said she'd adopted you! Isn't that great Shadow?!" Red yelled excited.

I nodded. I just stared over at where Reeda had vanished. I frowned.

'I'm going to be her son?' I thought to myself.

"Something wrong, Shadow?" Link asked sticking his face in mine.

"No. I just want Momma," I said with a little sigh.

"Why? You feeling sick or something? I'll go get Reeda for you if you are," Vio said.

"Red. Blue. Vio. Link. Please go see if you can play with Zelda or something? I need to talk to Shadow. Okay?" Grandfather asked.

The guys nodded and ran to find Princess Zelda. I turned to look at Grandfather. I was a little bit scared that he was mad or something.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked.

Grandfather shook his head.

"Then why'd you send the others outside?" I asked.

"Because your my new Grandson. I want to get to know you. Okay?" He asked me with a big smile.

"Okay," I said smiling back.

An hour or two later it was dinner time. Zelda and the others came in to wash up. I still was having troubles walking.

"Momma?" I called as I wobbled towards the table. Reeda rushed over, scooped me into her arms and sat me in the chair next to her.

Reeda hand plates to Zelda, Link, Blue, Red, Vio and Grandfather. Then Reeda carried over her plate and mine. Reeda held out a spoonful of corn for me. I cocked my head to the side and looked at Reeda.

"Here. You should try it before I put some on your plate," Reeda said.

I opened my mouth and took the corn. The corn had a creamy sauce on it. I liked it.

"Wants some more?" She asked. I saw she had a small bowl of corn in her hand. She scooped up another spoonful.

I smiled and nodded.

"Open up," Reeda said.

I felt like a baby. I wanted to feed myself. But at the same time, I felt like the others never got treated like this and I kind of liked that.

Soon it was time for bed. Reeda, Zelda and I left Grandfather's house. Zelda headed inside Hyrule castle. I fell asleep in Reeda's arms upon entering our house.

Reeda laid me in my hammock and placed a dark purple blanket that almost looked black on top of me. I felt  the hammock rock a little. I fell asleep and stayed asleep for almost half an hour.

"Momma?" I called as I sat up with a start.

"Yes?" Reeda asked.

She turned to see if I was okay. I reached my arms out towards her. I felt tears running down my face. The reason I had woke up was I had a really bad nightmare.

"Shadow? What's wrong?" Reeda asked as she scooped me up. I began sobbing into Reeda's shoulder.

"I dreamt that Ganondorf came and tried to kill me! I don't want to die again! I just came back! Don't let him kill me Momma! I just want to live!" I wailed.
