Invitation

It was a sunny day, the birds chirped as the owls curled up in their bird nest, shunning away from the sunlight as soft coos emitted from their beaks. The sweet aroma of milk tea wafted in the air as the sound of soft clinks echoed throughout the small white room.
In a chair sat a young woman, her hourglass figure shown through tight clothing. She had wavy brown hair that flowed down her back with golden strands mixed in of weaves of gold.
Almond eyes scanning through the pages of her new book as she sipped on her tea. The taste of sweet sugar and cream entered her mouth, an ambrosia of heaven slithering down into her mouth as she slightly moaned in relaxation.
Suddenly a noise, sharp yet dull, was heard from the clear window. Reaching over, the woman opened the window to reveal a beautiful tawny owl with bright green eyes. It's spotted feathers ruffled as it brought it's head down, a letter attached to it's sharp talons.
"Oh? The Hogwart's crest?" her soft voice chimed as she untied the letter, opening it as she gave the owl a treat and some sickles.

Hermione looked at the letter as she felt tears prick her eyes. She could go back to Hogwarts? Obviously! That was her home. Although she did love her small and cozy apartment, her heart ached for the halls of her school.
Humming quietly, Hermione quickly began packing up her things to bring to Hogwarts, a small tune escaping her cherry pink lips as she blew a soft breath towards her tea. Sipping on it as her magic whizzed about packing clothing and make up; although she doesn't dress up, she does apply light make up for a few days at a time just for feeling fancy.
Sighing, she looked out the window to admire the clear blue sky with hints of dusk slowly approaching as pink hues curled out, stretching it's colours far and wide.
Walking over to her small cherry wooded dresser, she quickly pulled out her black button up trench coat as well as a deep burgundy scarf. Putting the articles of clothing on she got ready to write her reply for the Headmistress of Hogwarts.
Dear Headmistress
I would love to come back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft of Wizardry and Witchcraft! I will be there at with all the other students. Thank you for inviting me back and I will see you on September 1st.
Yours truly Hermione Jean Granger
Quickly stamping the letter, Hermione, she quickly placed the letter into an envelope and sealed it. Giving the sealed letter to the tawny owl as she let him nip at her before carrying the letter away.
Walking across her flat, Hermione opened the balcony door as she leaned off the railing, arms limp and heavy at her side as she looked to the darkening sky.
"Harry, Ron. I wonder why you haven't mailed to me even once this summer?" She mumbled to herself softly. Her heart heavy and vulnerable.
She could remember all the small dates she had with her boyfriend, Ronald Weaseley, each holding hands as they walked into french cafe's or walked around the parks of London. Yet Ron hadn't sent her a letter the whole summer; although, she had sent him many letters telling him she loved him, he hadn't sent her one back yet.

Sitting up on black silky sheets, Draco Malfoy, Slytherin prince of Hogwarts ran his fingers through his platinum blonde hair once more.
Steely grey eyes scanning the dark grey room that boxed him in. No smell of fresh coffee or bagels, just the smell of fresh pine. The room held a few mahogany dressers and a glass coffee table in front of a plush leather couch. The green glow coming from a large lava lamp at the side of the bed on a small table, it's bubbles large and small floating about.
Sighing, he ruffled his hair and plopped back into his bed, covering his eyes with his left hand as he groaned. Suddenly, a loud sound emanated from his large window. Looking to the side, Draco saw a large white snow owl staring at him with it's beady yellow eyes.
He groaned again as he got up and opened the window, letting a blast of cold air wash over him as he did. He plucked the letter from the owl's foot and opened it, scanning the words as he pursed his lips.
The Headmistress invited him back. Him, of all people, invited back to Hogwarts. He couldn't believe it, yet the proof laid there in his hands. He grumbled, but swiftly got out his beautiful hawk quill and leaned over his desk to write a letter back.
Dear Headmistress Minerva Mcgonagall
I accept your invitation. I will be at Hogwarts to finish off my education. I will see you on September 1st at Hogwarts. Thank you for inviting me back.
Draco
Sealing the letter quickly Draco gave the large owl his letter and watched as it flew away. It's form quickly becoming just a small speck in the darkening night. Blinking a bit as he could see the stars shine as if they were made from drops of mercury. Closing his eyes he leaned against his window, relishing the frigid wind that gently blew into his dull room.
He tousled his hair, again, and headed back to the comforting arms of his bed, plopping himself down as he quickly fell into a dreamless slumber.
The Next Morning
Draco woke up to the harsh rays of the sun beating down at his pale face. He groaned as he weakly blocked the sun with his hand. Getting up he muttered curses towards the bright sunlight that dared to interfere with his sleep, although he couldn't say he enjoyed his sleep. He rarely enjoyed anything now.
"Draco! Breakfast is ready~" the sound of his mother's voice echoed in his head as he blinked away the sleep that dwelled beneath his lids.
"I'm coming mother!" Draco called back as he sluggishly pulled on a black jumper and slowly headed to his kitchen. Passing the few House elves that chose to stay and be in the care of the Malfoy's, Draco gave a small hello to each one. Daisy, a small house elf with sparkling blue eyes, gave a bow as she held up her newly made hat.
"Good morning Master Malfoy! How are you?" her voice squeaked as she smiled a large smile.
"I'm just fine Daisy, just going to the kitchen. And how about you?" Draco couldn't help but give a small smile back.
"Daisy will be going back to the kitchens, would you like anything to drink with your breakfast master?"
"No thank you, I appreciate it Daisy." Draco tilted his head as he started to walk again, off towards the large dining room.
Arriving to his destination in his large home, he greeted his mother who looked much thinner then he realized.
Narcissa Malfoy was a petite woman who always had a cold demeanour on when facing others of higher social status. Yet when she was alone with her one and only son she was all for smiles and hugs.
"Draco my son! Please come eat, eat! I prepared a lively breakfast for us!" His mother quickly cooed to him as she waved him over.
"Good morning mother, how are you?"
"I'm fine, trust me son."
Heading over to her side Draco sat down beside her and looked down to see a large plate full of eggs on English muffins with sausages to the side. A few caramel snakes were in a bowl off to the side. A cup of water stood beside the caramel snakes.
"Thank you mother, this all seems so divine." Draco smiled at his mother as he lifted his fork and started to eat.
Narcissa watched her son with a warm gaze as she watched him enjoy his meal. She never wanted to show him that she was weak or suffering. He was her only son and she always wanted to be there for him.
Draco noticed her gaze and smiled back at her before clearing his throat and sipping at his water.
"Mother... I got accepted back into Hogwarts. They invited me to attend for my last year."
"Oh.... t-that's wonderful Draco!" Narcissa smiled a bit forcefully.
"Is something the matter mother?" Draco asked her as he set his hand on hers. His brows furrowed slightly as he stared at his mother.
"It's nothing Draco dearest. I'm glad they invited you back. As long as your happy." Narcissa's forced smile slowly turned into a genuine one.
Draco inspected her face but slowly sighed in defeat. His mother was stubborn and always refused to show her true feelings. So he gently smiled and finished off the rest of his breakfast.
