I notice the man holding me has rubber gloves to protect him from the shocks when I look at my arm before the wave comes and engulfs my thoughts, my pain, my world, in darkness.

I open my eyes and try to pull my arms over my head before realising I am tied down. I lift my head and take in my surroundings. The room is dim, illuminated by a single flickering bulb. The walls are painted black, but they are chipping, leaving random patterns of white on the walls. A big window lets me see the caped figures standing and watching as I sit completely immobile in the chair.
I can't hear any of the noise from outside this room, not the footsteps nor the quiet murmurs. I know they were there though, I saw their feet move across the hall, I see their mouths move. Their faces are facing me now, they aren't hiding anymore. They have nothing to hide anymore. I am trapped, I am their prisoner.I am at their complete disposal.
Suddenly a door opens. The sudden noise after being in complete silence makes me jump. I turn my head to see who is entering. I hadn't even noticed the door. I wait until the caped figure comes through, I want to see the door so I don't miss it again. Behind the figure, a smaller one follows. I know who that is, the little girl. The girl that created a big blue monster, the girl that shocked me causing my entire body to ache when I awoke.
Was the pain apparent? Did I have scars marking the shocks? I glance towards the window for a few seconds, looking at the glass in front of one of the people wearing black. No scars had been made on my temple, I look down at my arms no scars on either one of them. I look up at the caped figure that now stands before me.
"Magic," he says simple. His voice is gruff. I look down at the floor to avoid making eye contact with him.
The little girl sits up against the wall opposite to me with her thighs pressde up against her chest.
The man takes a few steps closer and I listen as he speaks.
"You have something we want, your parents vanished before we could use them, but that doesn't matter. You are stronger than they ever were. You can trick your own powers. We don't want risk, no not at all. We want power. we want it quick and easy. So this is how it's going to work. You will answer Regina's questions, or, well I don't think I have to continue, you were there last night. She doesn't need her blue creation to shock you, she can do it on her own."
With those words he turns on his heels and leaves, slamming the door behind him. The people in front of the window disperse and leave through the corridors.
She stands up slowly and walks towards me.
"I don't want to be here anymore than you do," she says softly. "They left because I told them to, they are afraid of me but only when the big boss isn't around. I'll be here often. So let's get to know each other. Name?"
I watch her as she speaks with ease and sincerity. She pulls off her cloak. She has bright blue eyes and blonde hair dyed pink at the tips.
"Fabia." I answer
"No, you've got to go into details on all the questions, you don't get to take the easy way out. I need your full name."
"Didn't you experiment on my parents?"I spat.
She lifts her hand and curls her thumb, ring finger, and pinkie towards her palm. She moves her outstretched finger to my arm. Her cold fingers send shivers through my veins.
"Sorry, but you only made this worse for yourself." Sudden pain erupts through me. My muscles contract just as they had last night. "I don't enjoy doing that but I will if you make me. Also, It's better if you cooperate, they may let me take off the chains and stuff."
"Chan," I say.
"Huh?"
"Chan," I say again "Fabia Chan."
"Oh." she says sitting down on the floor in front of me. "Lift your feet for a sec." she says.
I do as I'm told and she pulls out two clips on the legs of the chair. I gasp as I fall although I feel almost no pain when i hit the ground.
"Cushions," she says pointing under the chair.
"You know it could use cushions on top too," I say shrugging.
"Yeah I know, these chairs are literally everywhere. Next question. Literally everyone knows this but what's your power?"
"Teleportation." I say. She is trying to understand the way I act when telling the truth. They said she could do a lot of things with her power, maybe she could sense how I felt. I look up at her face. She looks older up close. Almost the same age as I am.
She goes on asking me questions like my birthday, my first crush, my first kiss, my biggest fear, my favorite object. Some questions seem so out of the ordinary i feel like she actually wants to get to know me.
"You know, I don't see many other kids our age around here." I nod when she says this.
"Yeah, I've noticed everyone here is a man."
"No," she says. "The ones who go out and do things are the men, women stay home and relax really. But there aren't any kids. None of the ones born are born without powers, and their powers aren't strong enough or unique enough for them to be worth keeping around. I guess mine is, and I'm just sitting here hoping no one else gets born with this power and learns more about it than I do. If that happens, they kill me. Since I'm part of their group they can't experiment on me, but they can kill."
I don't know what to say to that.
"Lighten up," she says with a small smile. "I'm not dead yet."
I giver her a small smile and look away.
I can almost hear her disappointment, she gets up and says "I guess that's all the talking we have to do right now." She pulls the chair back up and pushes the clips back in. "See you soon, get some rest or something."
She leaves through the door she came through, and almost instantly the men flood back into the room and begin watching me again. I stare at the light bulb as I doze off.
