[Nineteen]
Hoseok conceded that, yes, technically, Yoongi did score more points during their game. He didn't have the heart to argue that they never finished it.
As the winner, Yoongi was able to choose where they went out to dinner, but when he confided he wasn't really up for going to a restaurant, Hoseok offered to just grab some pizza. They decided to go to Hoseok's dance studio to eat since it was neutral territory: it wasn't as public as a restaurant and it wouldn't include either of their roommates.
Hoseok unlocked the employee's entrance and led the way - box, plates, and napkins in hand - past the kitchen area and straight into the studio floor. He pulled over the piano bench to serve as a table and set the pizza down, leaving to plug his phone into the sound system. He turned on a playlist and lowered the volume from the usual loud volume used during his dance class.
Yoongi was already seated on the floor with his back against the wall. The pizza box lid was flung open and the older was analyzing the slices to see which he should take. Hoseok sat next to him and they began eating.
"I'm sorry if this date didn't turn out the way you planned because of me," Yoongi said, interrupting the silence.
"Don't be. The plan was to spend the day with you. So far, so good." Hoseok smiled.

Yoongi was fortunate that Hoseok turned back to his meal and didn't notice the older gaping at him.
He is so nice, what the fuck.
"You need to rap Fox in Socks again sometime. That was fucking amazing."
Yoongi was reminded of the sound of Hoseok's uncontrollable laughter and felt his heart skip a beat. "We didn't actually finish the game, did we?"
"Mmm. 'S fine." Hoseok said between bites. "I think it was the last question anyway. Do you want to know the title I found to describe my family?"
Yoongi nodded. The younger could have offered to list the periodic table of elements and he'd be eager to hear all about it.
"I have no idea what the book was about, but the title was Crazy, Rich Asians. My family isn't rich I guess, but when we're together it's like being at the circus. If you think my laugh is annoying--"
"I like your laugh."
Hoseok beamed at him and Yoongi couldn't look away.
"What about your family? Did you find a book?"
Yoongi stared blankly for a few seconds.
"I don't have a family. My mother died when I was a teenager. No siblings. My dad is a giant homophobe and disowned me when I came out and told him about my then-boyfriend."
Hoseok's face fell. "Is that why you...?"
Had a pathetic panic attack in the middle of our incredible bookstore date?
"Yeah. I really am sorry. I don't normally give a fuck while thinking about him, but something just triggered me I guess." Yoongi answered.
It was true - when he first explained his relationship with his father to Jungkook, Jin, and Namjoon, he'd never had this bad of a reaction. "This was a little more than four years ago and like I said, it's not something I normally have trouble thinking about." the older finished.
"I'm sorry I brought that up. But biology isn't everything. Tell me about your real family. I want to hear about your hyung, the one with the restaurant."
Yoongi told Hoseok all about his makeshift family. The married couple, Jin and Namjoon, whose support and example reminded him that soulmates do exist. Their adopted daughter, his nearly three-year-old niece, Bora, who he was currently teaching to throw peace signs whenever her parents took out their phones to take a picture. And, of course, his roommate, Jungkook, who was more like an obnoxious, but lovable, little brother.
Hoseok put away the remaining uneaten pizza and cleaned up the mess before they resumed swapping stories about their loved ones.
When the conversation died down, they just listened to music together until Yoongi interrupted, "Thanks for helping me through... that... you know, panic attack earlier." his eyes focused on the floorboards.
"No problem at all, baby." hummed the younger before Yoongi felt Hoseok's body tense next to him.
Baby. The word escaped Hoseok's mouth and that was all it took.
No more than three seconds of heavy silence ticked by before Yoongi finally pushed aside his nerves. He moved nearer to the younger, who cautiously turned his head to face him. Yoongi leaned closer, his eyes alternating their focus between Hoseok's warm brown eyes to his slightly parted lips. The music in the background became a low indistinguishable hum. He felt the warmth of each exhale as the younger's breathing grew shallower. He inhaled the faint but sweet bergamot notes in his cologne.
"Can I... ?" he breathed.
"If you don't, I'll never forgive you."
Yoongi closed the gap between them and cautiously pressed his lips to Hoseok's, half expecting him to change his mind. The younger answered with his own more insistent lips and brought his arms around the older, dragging his fingertips along his spine. Yoongi pulled away for a moment as his body shuddered at the unexpected touch, but Hoseok chased his lips. As they fell into rhythm once more, their hands began freely roaming each other's bodies.
Yoongi tugged at Hoseok's bottom lip as his hand wandered beneath the bottom of his hooded sweatshirt. Hoseok pulled back with an unreadable expression, eyes staring straight into the older's.
"Hoseok," Yoongi whispered, "I'm sorry. I wasn't think--"

In a fluid movement, maintaining eye-contact, the younger brought the sweatshirt over his head, leaving only his thin black t-shirt. He pulled the older right back to where they left off, only this time Yoongi could feel the unmistakable heat of Hoseok's body below the thin material.
Hoseok reached for one of Yoongi's hands, intertwining their fingers before he broke the kiss again. "C'mon."
The younger walked backward in front of him, leading him by the hand, to a corner of the room and a stack of dance mats. He sat on the mats. "Look, I'm going to put this out there now: I don't want to go too far tonight - I don't have sex on the first date. I'm not trying to make assumptions, but guys have tried to push too far in the past. I want to make sure we're on the same page before we continue."
Yoongi nodded, thankful for the younger's transparency.
Hoseok's eyes brightened as he pulled Yoongi toward him, "You ready?"
Yoongi replied by connecting their mouths again, feeling a distinct smile on Hoseok's lips. The younger's head rolled back as Yoongi trailed kisses down his neck. Yoongi felt Hoseok lean back onto the mats, pulling him along by the collar of his shirt.
Yoongi followed, crawling over the younger. They continued like this horizontally until they could no longer trust themselves to stay within the boundaries they'd set only minutes earlier. They pulled apart and decided to cuddle as they cooled down.
"Big spoon or little spoon?" the younger asked, laying on his side with his arm propping up his chin.
"Big spoon, hands down," Yoongi stated.
Hoseok chuckled and rolled his eyes, settling next to the older. "Next time, I get to be big spoon."
Yoongi draped his arm around the younger. How is this happening to me? he thought as they lay, enjoying each other's company.
