Hoseok walked Yoongi to work the next morning, as promised, stealing several kisses and uttering soft I-love-yous in the restaurant's kitchen. He reiterated to Yoongi again that he didn't have to say it back until he was ready, kissing him one last time before he left.

Through the first two hours of his shift, Yoongi spaced out, berating himself for being so weak. He loved Hoseok. Why couldn't he say it?

He'd never had a great track record with those three simple words, in terms of both saying them or hearing them. He spent his whole childhood feeling like a drain on his parents, and although he knew his mother loved him, the reassurance that he was lovable died with her.

He never took those three words to be genuinely true when others spoke them. Not his hyungs, not his friend Jungkook, not even previous romantic relationships.

But when Hoseok said those three words last night, Yoongi could feel the truth behind them, even if a huge part of him doubted that he was worthy.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to him: Snap the fuck out of it. I'm so selfish. Spending so much time trying to figure out if I'm deserving of Hoseok's love and leaving him not knowing that I love him too.

Hoseok deserved to know. He deserved the world.

Yoongi took off his serving apron and hung it carelessly on the back of a chair. He walked through to the dining area carrying his coat, pausing in front of the door to put it on.

"Yoongi-ah," the hostess complained, "Where are you going?"

"On my break," he said flatly, stuffing his arms into the sleeves of his coat.

"You're supposed to be taking care of guests right now! You don't have a break until noon."

"Don't care," he stated over his shoulder as he pushed the heavy front door open and stepped outside. He'd apologize to Namjoon later, but he had the feeling he wouldn't be that upset.

He walked slowly at first, but as his determination increased, so did the speed of his stride.

And when he pictured his sunshine's smile, he broke out into a full-on run.
