Feathers
"Why, why, why why!?" I quickly stated over and over again in nervousness... I mean I didn't mind flying, but suprise picking me up and flying scared the heckity heck out of me... Especially with the very unpredictable and scary Joey.
"Please put me down!" I cried. I closed my eyes at the breeze hitting me. My hair refused to brush in the wind so it stayed down in their natural positions... My right eye covered, and my left eye the only revealed. I was so afraid that Joey would drop me... I didn't even know if I fully trusted him, which was a problem.... Trust issues was a big thing for me.
"I don't think that's going to happen, Shads." He said smirking at the nickname he just called me. I fumed with blue flames, but I didn't speak. He knew that I didn't like anyone to call me that nickname... But, he did it anyway.
"C'mon, just enjoy the flight. You're free." He softly said to me, moving the hair out of the view of my right eye. I let him do it... I don't know why, but I did.
I opened my eyes. "...We can never be truly free. I can never be truly free." I quietly spoke after a long pause. My face was deeply saddened.
"Look at me." Joey said to me, still in his soft tone. I hesitated, but knew I had to look at him. I slowly turned my head to him and I was met with his soft smile. He put his hand on my head and looked at me in the eyes.
I knew my right icy blue eye was shining onto him. He didn't even flinch at it, which suprised it.
'I must confess that I feel like a monster!' Monster by Skillet was stuck in my head.
"Shadow... I know you feel trapped. I know you feel detached from this world... But... Right now, look at where you are... You're in the sky... You're flying... With me. You're free right now." He spoke softly to me.
"No! I'm not free! MY FREAKING MATE IS TRAPPED AND IS AWAY FROM ME! HE IS TRAPPED BY MY ENEMY THAT WAS ONCE HIS FRIEND THAT I CAUSED TO BE OUR ENEMY IN THE FIRST PLACE! HE IS MY ENEMY BECAUSE I CAUSED HIM TO BE! I STARTED THE WARS! It's all my fault... That night... If I would've just done it... Everything would be normal right now... Everyone would be happy... But they're not... I'm sorry." Tears rolled down my cheeks as I looked away from Joey. He didn't deserve to be lashed out on... He didn't deserve this rage of mine...
He lifted my chin to face him to make me look at him in the eyes. We were now drifting in the air...
"Then let's go... Let's go get Blackout." He said being serious.
I looked at him, and the tears stopped flowing. "R-Really?" I asked him through tears.
"Yes. Let's go."
