Sivaangi tossed on her bed scrolling the bird app on her phone. She felt very bored without talking to anyone and the app is not satisfying her. She decided to go out of her room to see what he is doing by pretending to fill her water bottle which she emptied now purposely.

Ashwin is sitting on the couch with his laptop, searching for something serious that he didn't notice her entering the kitchen. Once She filled the bottle she silently came and stood behind him trying to peek at the laptop screen.

Sivaangi busted into giggles on seeing the screen, that's when he noticed her. "Ayioo ayioo ennala mudila" Sivaangi said amidst her giggles. For a minute Ashwin stood froze seeing her, this is the first time he saw her laughing wholeheartedly.

"How to ask something to your girlfriend without annoying her(google search), ennadhu idhu ayioo" She laughed. Ashwin rube his nape completely embarrassed. 

It's been a week since Sivaangi came to Ashwin's residence. They haven't talked much other than formal greetings and Ashwin didn't pressurize her to do anything as he thought she needs some time to get used to the place. 

Sivaangi composed herself after several attempts. "Sollunga Ashwin enkita apdi enna solanum" She asked suppressing her laughter. " Ah haan solran ipdi vandhu ugarunga" he said pointing out the space next to him. 

"Naliku ungalala college off eduka mudiyuma"

"Ethuku" She asked turning to his side.

"Adhu nalaika appa unna kotitu vara sonaru" 

"Ohh okay Ashwin" She said after a moment of thought as she knew this would come one day.

He sighed in relief and smiled at her. "okay na dinner ready panitan nee sapdu na already saptan" He said and started walking towards his room. She sighed and went into the kitchen.

The car halted in front of his father's mansion. They both got down and he got hold of her hand as they walked in. The fact is he missed the way her cheeks turned pink when he touched her. "You are not allowed to feel this way" her sub-consciousness mind told her. As usual, she just shrugged it off.

"vaa ma" Ashwin's father welcomed her with excitement. She bent down to his feet and got his blessings. "ennala nambavae mudila en payanuku oru ponna pudichiruku nu" his father said in amusement. She just smiled at him. Ashwin fake coughed to show his presence.

"Sivaangi na unkitta thaniya pesanum ma" his father said ignoring Ashwin. She nervously looked at Ashwin, he blinked his eyes in response to assure her.

 "Sollunga pa" she said once they settled on the couch in the garden area. He smiled at the way she addressed him.   "Avan phone la sonnapa kuda na nambala ma ana unna patha udanae enaku pidichiduchu" he said with a smile. "Thanks, pa" she responded with a smile. 

"I'm coming to the point na unkita sila visham solanum but ne adha epadi educhupa nu therila" he started with hesitation.

 "Paravala sollunga pa na onnu nenaika matten".

"Ashwin mothala nalla than irundha, epomae sirichitu sandhosama eppo avan amma engala vitu ponalo apola irundhu kallu mari ayitan, unakae theriyum nu nenaikuran" he said as a lone tear escaped his eyes.

"Appa nenga  kavala padadhinga ela seri ayirum" she said patting his hands. She doesn't know what else to say seeing this old man. But one thing she came to know is that Ashwin is not easy to deal with. 

"Adhaan ne vandhutala enaku nambika iruku" he replied instantly. She felt guilty for hiding all these things from him that everything will end in a month."unaku edhu venalum kelu nanum un appa mari thaan" he said. Sivaangi teared up earing his words. "seri pa" she said with a smile.

Day's rolled and it's been twenty days since she came here, they both were having a good rapport as a friend from his side but Sivaangi couldn't control her growing feelings towards him even though she knew this is temporary. 

"Hello Ashwin someone is following me, I don't know what to do" Sivaangi said in a panic-filled voice. "Sivaangi keep moving forward don't stop and share your location immediately" Ashwin said as he started his car, before she could reply the call got disconnected. She groaned in annoyance as the battery dead.

He searched her all over the city like a mad man but couldn't find her. Tears made their way down his cheeks after fifteen years. He was standing on the pathway near her college looking like a lost puppy. 

"Ashwin"

He know it is her, without thinking he turned around engulfing her in his embrace. "Payandhutan" he mumbled in her ears as he kissed her temple. She felt her shoulders getting wet. She patted his back and said everything is okay and it was some street brats who followed her and also said that she tricked them and escaped. 

Sivaangi smiled at the thought of the incident as that was the day she realized her love towards him seeing his concern filled teary eyes at the same time she frowned thinking about the future. She couldn't find what he thinks about her as he is a Picasso in hiding his thoughts through his expressions. 

After some deep thinking, she convinced herself to live the moment rather than pondering over the future. She wanted him to be happy. She wished to show him all the love that he is yearning for but She didn't know whether he will accept her or not.

 "Machan enna achu da" Rakshan asked in a worried tone.

"Confuse panra da" Ashwin said rubbing his eyes in frustration.

"Ena da solra" 

"Therila da our mari iruku pudhusa iruku idhellam" 

"Edhu" Raskshan asked even though he knew what he is talking about. Ashwin glared at him.

"I am feeling weak by seeing her weak, I couldn't even believe that I hugged her and cried that day, the way she sees me kannalayae mulungura mari pakura which makes me jittery, na enadha panradhu". Ashwin confessed his thoughts which was troubling him for a long time. Rakshan smirked internally as he could sense his friend is fallen for the little woman.

"Na potta plan ku opposite ha nadakura mari iruku da, I couldn't focus on anything" 

"Dei confuse agadha da, just go with the flow, unaku poga poga ellam puriya varum puriya vekuran" he said the last part in his mind and smriked.

"Enamo solra papom".

The car was unusually silent and both of them didn't initiate a convo. Ashwin was picking up Sivaangi from her college, this has been his routine since that incident had happened. Once they reached his house, he went to his room without looking at her. She felt hurt by his behaviour but didn't take it to her mind. She noticed Rakshan in the living room. 

"Hii anney" She chirped at him. They both had a good bonding as Rakshan often visits here. They talked about random things for a good half an hour but Rakshan sensed that something was not right and also guessed the reason. 

"Seri ma na kelamburan Ashwin ha konjam pathuko, enala mudincha nanae irundhu irupen but I have some other stuffs to do" Rakshan started his plan.

"Avaruku enna ney nala thaana irukaru" 

"Illa ma inaiku than avanga amma avana vittu pona nal, avan yartayum pesamatan indha nal full ha thaiyavae irupan adhan sonan" Sivaangi was taken back by this newfound information and she felt stupid for getting hurt by his behaviour.

"Seri na pathukuran ney neenga kelambunga" rakshan made a victory dance in his mind as his plan started working. 

Sivaangi entered his room with a plate of pasta seeing him sitting on his bed staring at the ceiling as his head rested on the headboard. "Ashwin idha konjam sapdunga, I can feel you but ethana nal ipdiyae iruka poringa" Sivaangi said with a little hesitation in her voice as she stood in front of him.

"Unaku idhu thevailadha vishiyam better stay away" He said without looking at her.

"Ashwin oru nimisham na solradha..."

"STOP IT SIVAANGI, stop interfering in my personal life, It's none of your business, I think you forget why you came here, don't step out of your line and don't you have manners to knock on the door before getting in" he showed all his anger towards her.

"You are right, I think it's time for me to leave, you can find someone else for your drama and I'm not taking this anymore" saying she left the room. She packed her bag and came out of the house tears rolling down her cheeks. It was past nine. 

Ashwin immediately regretted his words seeing her colourless face and hurt in her eyes. He cursed himself for showing his anger towards. He didn't intend to hurt her. The anger towards his mother made him speak such a way towards her. He thought to apologise but he couldn't find her anywhere in the house. When he started his car the clouds started pouring heavily. 

He raced down his car as he found her walking in the middle of the road. He shouted her name but she kept walking without looking back. He ran behind her and caught hold of her wrist. 

"Unaku enna than venum, please don't start a drama now and  I'm not ready for that" She said losing her cool.  "Sivaangi please na theriyama apdi pesitan really sorry" he said. She tried to get out of his hold but he was very strong. 

He don'tknow what came into him coz he slowly cupped her face and looked into her eyes and mouthed "I cannot afford to lose you at any cost, sorry Sivaangi ma". They both were completely drenched in rain. The bag in her hands fell on the ground with a thud. He felt her body shivering coz of their proximity. She was in a hypnotized state losing herself in his brown orbs. 

He trailed his finger on her face and reached her lips. He slowly leaned in and placed his warm lips on her cold one gently without breaking the eye contact tears flowing from both their eyes. She pulled his hair in one hand and clutched his shirt on other hand for support as her knees went weak. Though it was not a proper kiss, it showed various emotions that they were holding on to each other. 

They parted away due to a lack of air. She looked at him angrily but he didn't let her speak. He took her bag and pulled her into the car and started driving. Both of them didn't speak anything. She didn't raise any sort of question. By the time they reached his house, she was already drifted off into sleep. He came to her side and carried her in his arms to her room. He finally kissed her forehead after pulling the duvet above her. 

Rakshan looked at his friend who is smiling and blushing to himself. Ashwin came out of his trance when he waved his hand in front of him. "Enna da orae kushi pola" Rakshan asked smiling widely. 

"Ama da" he said blushing. "Dei enna da vekkamla padra" Rakshan asked. Ashwin explained to him everything about yesterday night. "Ada paavi ana avala ne apdi pesi iruka kodadhu macha" Rakshan replied in disappointment. 

"Dei na onnu venumnae pannala en situation apdi" 

"Seri adha vidu adhuku apuram nadandha pathi enna solla pora" 

"Adha na first ava kitta than solluvan nee ippo inga irundhu po" 

"Nadathu da nadathu" saying Rakshan left from there. He was really happy for his friend.  

 On the other hand, Sivaangi couldn't believe the happenings. "How can he shout at me and kiss me like that, I am not gonna forgive him easily" she thought as she made her way downstairs. 

He saw her coming towards the hall. He smiled awkwardly at her. She glared at him and went inside the kitchen. Ashwin followed her wordlessly. She picked a vessel and poured milk in it and kept it on the burner. Ashwin noticed her taking cinnamon powder instead of coffee. 

"Sivaangi adhu.." he tried to say that but she showed her palms up asking him to stop. She finally made the so-called coffee and made her way to the living room. Ashwin too sat beside her on the couch. Once she sipped it she made a throw-up expression which made him laugh out loud.

She started hitting his shoulders as the tears that she was holding back started flowing seeing him laughing at her. Ashwin cursed himself seeing her teary eyes. He knelt down in front of her and took her hands in his after wiping her tears. 

"Sivaangi I'm really sorry for whatever I said yesterday, I didn't mean it, You don't know what you are doing to me, I was in battle with my mind and heart. I don't know what to do idha feelings ellamae enaku pudhusu ma, at first I didn't have anything in my mind, my focus was only on my business but after you came into my life, I couldn't digest the fact that you are changing me, the way your yes sparkles seeing me, the way your cheeks turns pink when our hands brush every single thing is a new feeling for me, na romba confused ha irundhan apo than nee vandhu apdi pesana odanae na kathitan" She was taken back by his statement. 

"Ana nethu un kanala andha valiya padha apuram than enaku purinchu nee enaku evalo mukiyamnu na nedhu sonnadhu dha I cannot afford to lose you at any cost Sivaangi ma and I promise that I won't hurt you, you are my everything from now and will be" he finished looking for her reaction. 

She burst into tears and threw herself on him as they fell on the floor. "I love you Ashwineey" she said as she peppered kisses all over his face. They are going to have a vast and beautiful life like the rainbow and sky filled with colours and happiness. 

From random strangers to important people in each other life. What they started as a fake drama became real now. They both had made some plans but fate had other plans. This is what they say has Kadavul Setting!
